I love dumpster diving, salvaging, repurposing, and selling scrap metal. I've repurposed 3 of them. I just finished the third. A 32 inch into a light. Using it for tracing is great idea I hadn't thought of. I'm gonna try it, and if it works well, make a couple little creative kids i know very happy. I just have to convince their mom it's not garbage first. Thanks for the idea.
Cool idea but don't forget those mirrored flexible plastic lenses and clear plastic lenses you pulled out could also be used for example you could draw or paint on them and hang them on the wall for some fancy kind of art medium
Gotta dig a man bold enough to wear grey sweats in a You Tube video, anyways, how do you get the lights to remain on? Most tv’s nowadays automatically turn themselves off if a television show isn't being displayed, that's the problem that I'm having trying to turn a broken screen tv into a skylight, the thing turns off every half hour or so and someone must push the on button to get it going again, not the worst problem, but annoying anyways, you have any ideas?

This is insanely helpful as an artist. I have a couple dead tv's in the basement that will now be put to use! 🎉

Thank you! Gonna make one for my workshop!!
Its a lot brighter when you remove those plastic sheets and expose the LED lights!
Would this work with a dimmer switch?
I'm facing the same auto shut down problem ,how can this be solved since you cant see anything you can't adjust settings
How to prevent it from turning off (power saving) ?
