Pretty cool behind the scenes but how is the logistics travelling to Brazil any different than flying to London to play a game? or when the Giants and Panthers played in Germany? The NFL has been playing abroad for over 30 years now; you'd expect them to have it down to a science.

I think the food portion of this massive endeavor is more geared towards the players not getting the turbo shits on game day from eating the local cuisine more than it is because they are "creatures of habit."
From the NFL's perspective, you want to reel in the new fans you get from these international games at the start of the season so they tune in for the rest of the season. Doing it at the last game you risk international fans forgetting about football with the 4-5 months off before the next season. That's why the London games are also pretty early in the season
