I think your news is you are going to take on another plot? That would be super fun and you won't run out of space then! Thor is going to love his tea tonight! Happy bunny!Happy gardening 🙂
When planting runner beans I always sow extra beans at the base of each cane. This makes sure there is a succession and, if you're lucky, escape slug damage. I don't plant mine out until they are much bigger. Never had a problem with slugs which probably prefer the more immature, tender, stems. Try to make sure that your brassica leaves do not tough the sides of the netting as the cabbage whites can still lay their eggs if the holes of the mesh are too big. I sow my leeks in a plant pot and wait until they are pencil size before planting out. I always use the method you showed. I All your hard work is starting to pay off as you harvest. When you eventually get your proper water supply you can do deep watering every few days rather than having to go daily.
Hi Emma I lost 2 lots if beans to slugs so I added a little yoghurt pot of beer buried level with the soil in front of beans and I couldn’t believe how many I caught ps cheap Lidl lager x
Emma you are right the leek thing works , first time for me doing leeks and thats how i did mine too. I also harvest for the guineapigs 😅 think they're eating more than me.
I've heard... May not be true ... That oats are a good deterrent for slugs! Just sprinkle it around the plants 🤷🤞 I'm going to try it too 😅 let's hope it helps!!
I don't name everything but I do talk to inanimate objects as if they are alive! 🤣 e.g. "Right you can go there, now behave yourself till I come back for you in a bit" (speaking to the hoover) 🤣🤣🤣
Can confirm Leek planting technique... I grew them for the first time last year and used that technique... had some lovely crops :D Not as big as some, but that's because I haven't focused on timings etc. I have noticed many UK allotmenteers and gardeners seem to be suffering an excessive amount of slug and snail damage, so you are certainly not alone there. I do know that thrill of being able to harvest bits and pieces... doesn't even have to be much... can even be one crop... just that notion that you grew it... brilliant stuff. 🥦🥬🌽🍓 We used to name cars... we had a pale green car that was called Kermit... but I think being driven into once or twice has taken that out of me. I did name my first DIY printer Bitsabot... as it was cobbled together from bits and pieces :D
I’m hoping we get some this year, I love leeks! The slugs are just crazy! I keep getting pots full of them every night.. surely there can’t be that many slugs left in my town 😂 Haha! I always name the cars, mines Percy and Sam’s is Arnie 😂🧡

Use a slow cooker for these days when you are busy. Just get home and eat. Bypassing the take away outlets! 😂❤
Oh good idea haha! But that does require forward planning, which I’m not the best at 😂🧡
🤣🤣🤣

This is the most detailed I think from last year!
Netting was from EBay 🧡
@@HouseOfTedYT thank you!!
Go careful with your Marigolds. Slugs can eat entire plants over night. Just a heads up.
Haha yes I know they will and they have at home 😂 they can have the marigolds if they leave everything alone 😂🤞🏻
