We are having and issue with the water not being diverted. Water is just flowing around the ball that is supposed to close off the flow downwards. Also in the instructions it says 3inch schedule 40 pipe can be connected to the diverter side but it doesn’t stay on at all and constantly leaks. Great idea but doesn’t quite execute properly. Not sure if we can return the item for a refund as we didn’t buy it directly through the manufacturer and don’t have the box anymore unfortunately.

Can you remove less than 745mm of downpipe to install this. If so, what is the minimum length possible between the collar on the gutter and the tank inlet?

Hello Dave! When we refer to diverting the first flush approximately 18-30 litres or 5-8 gallons will be diverted, depending upon a variety of factors. The main factors are flow rate and the period of time since the last downfall. However, several other factors such as rainfall intensity, ambient temperature, humidity and wind will all affect the exact diversion volume. The ON/OFF switch also means you can control what is diverted. Hope this helps answer your question!

Does the flow rate ever stall? Seems like it won't allow nearly as much flow as a standard 3inch pvc pip3

Hi Joseph! Our Clean Rain Downpipe Diverters are designed to minimize the disruption of water as it flows through the system. There is very little restriction of flow rate.

We loved the idea of this. It doesn't work. WE have just pulled it apart again to find ouot why. The ball doesn't pull up high enough so all the water diverts around it. Complicated and a great concept, but very disappointed. Trip to Bunnings to make a simple one that WILL work.
