Queens room looks small there doesn't seem a lot off tables for afternoon tea

Very nice tour. I'm getting a Viking Cruises ship vibe with the warmth only a British cruise line can provide. Hope they maintain a higher level of staff to guest ratio on the ship.

I enjoy your videos so much! Although not necessarily pertaining to this video, I was wondering if you would consider a video on how you pack. You always seem to have the exact right clothes (and accessories) for all of your cruises and excursions (you may have already made such a video but I haven't found it). Again, thank you so much for your videos (and I need to win the lottery so I can go on all of the ships and cruises that you highlight...).

Ship's internet BLOCKS Google Docs, Google Sheets, all VPNs, Microsoft Outlook, Google Maps and many other productivity sites. Unless you're retired or won the lottery, DO NOT step foot on this ship if you have a real job and need to do any work whatsoever.

Great video Guys and the ship looks very different to what we are used to. Having cruised with Cunard since 2004 we are still trying to get our heads around the new design language, but we are warming to it the more videos we see. The real test will be when we go on her in October, but until then QE is still our favourite ship.

The whole ship looks fantastic and I love sitting in those chairs looking out at the commodore club on the rest of the fleet so cannot wait to try them on Queen Anne. We are booked on her for the christmas cruise to the Canary Islands she should look even better with christmas decorations really looking forward to it now having watched your vlog very informative as always.
Did you ever get anything from P&O for that awful cabin?

Thanks for posting. She looks nice. Is she bigger than Queen Mary 2? I like Queen Mary 2 because she is older and classic ships. Many new ships are modern. She is better than HAL's ships. I like color on both Queen Anne and Queen Mary 2. I hope to have single cabin on Mary 2 on Transatlantic cruises.

    • @TomandDomTravel
      @TomandDomTravel  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Thank you for watching. She is smaller in tonnage than QM2. Much more modern in style than the other queens. If you like the classic queens QM2 is a good choice

@@TomandDomTravel I think Queen Anne are crowds. I went on Maasdam in 2003. She had two swimming pools. They carried about 1,200 passengers. Three HAL’s newest ships carry 2,600 passengers and has two swimming pools like Maasdam. Some passengers told me that they were crowded. QM2 carry same number of passengers as them. I would go on QM2 or Princess’ oldest ships.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. It's funny, but in my head, Cunard is a much "older" line, in that the demographic is older and I imagine the ships to be old fashioned and conservative. But this looks much more modern than anything from Princess. To me, Princess ships look extremely dated with all that orangey wood and beige colour palette everywhere. They’re like a Holiday Inn from the 90s. Cunard seems much more contemporary --- at least in terms of the colour scheme. I can't say what the overall feel of the ships is like. What struck me about this most British of cruise lines is that, apart from everything being in dollars, they insist on calling the main course the “entrée”. As anyone outside the US knows, the entrée is the starter. So it’s puzzling that Cunard follows the American convention (I know its parent company is American, but Cunard promotes itself as British). Another thing I like about your videos is the shoutouts you give to your fellow (friendly) travel bloggers. You seem to get on well with so many other cruisers. It contrasts sharply with another male duo, who shall remain nameless, but you can probably guess…

    • @TomandDomTravel

Thanks. We get what you mean about the older ships. QA is absolutely not like that. We really enjoy meeting up with our fellow vloggers and do get on with most 😄

@@TomandDomTravel Some perspective: my wife has mobility issues and was mostly in a wheelchair on board. We travelled in Princess Grill. We have cruised with Cunard 19 times before we embarked on Queen Anne.
This is not an exhaustive list, I try to be objective but I get cruise when I think of how much has got worse or just been done wrong.
      Cabins
      Pros
      Shower in bathroom
TV features much better (account info, navigation, programs etc.
      Hairdryer is much better.
More sockets and with usb ports.
      Cons
      Reduced wardrobe space.
Doors narrower, can't get a wheelchair through now
      No notepad or pen/pencil
      Public rooms
      Pros
Use of deck 1 midships is good, a coffee bar and more seating
Pastries and open sandwiches in Carinthia
      Cons
It has been very cold in Chart room & Carinthia
Very cold patches in Queens room.
Bar right next to the stage in Queens room can mean that noise disrupted the performers.
Dance floor is the wrong shape in the Queens room.
In the evenings rows of stackable seats are out in the Queens room, looking really ugly and narrowing the passage through the room even more.
Theatre has access only right at the back, or right at the front. The rake at the front often means you can't get a clear view of the stage.
Some events in the theatre were so popular that the aisles and steps were full. Clearly a safety hazard but nothing was done. Is the theatre too small?
Seating is often low with no arms
Seating in grills lounge is uncomfortable, try the sofa sometime.
Some seating in Chart room and Carinthia is too low.
The seating throughout looks like it has been chosen because it looks nice, not because it's comfortable.
Grills lounge no view, it's just like a waiting room, not somewhere to sit and pass the time
The casino is a real pinch point for through traffic, only 1 place where a wheelchair can just get through.
Promenade deck is such a disappointment with the lifeboats blocking the view.
      Can't sit on prom deck.
Some corridors are narrower, can't get the wheelchair through if room stewards cleaning trolleys are present.
Very loud on deck 3 above Queens room and shopping area, it means that whatever is going on in QR is imposed on those wandering deck 3.
Library has too few books and it's right out of the way.
      Shops
Just laughable. Essential toiletries are locked away behind an unmarked cupboard door!
Range of goods in other shops way out of touch.
      So much wasted space.
      No book shop.
The Cunard shop is tiny and usually full with just 5 or 6 people in it.
      Other
Grills terrace is just a corridor, people wander through from one end to the other just to have a look.
Signage on public toilets not very clear.
Rejoining the ship on port days was shambolic with the security scanners often right by the lifts.
      However
Commodore club is good, with caveats about the seating of course.
Aranya and Aji Wa alternative dining both very good.
      Food options in Carinthia good.
Staff and service generally up to usual Cunard standard.
Pavilion is very nice, if no one is performing, I hear the pool there's isn't deep enough for swimming.
Assistance on gangways for wheelchairs users was very welcome.

Very underwhelming mass market ship. Disappointing design (especially the suites, comparable to HAL, Costa, etc.) and a real shame that they didn't take the opportunity to improve the Grills experience...
