    Is this applicable to E90 320i 2007?
    I already changed the hose connecting to the thermostat. I also replaced the thermostat. Drive belt was also replaced. And I added coolant. This BMW model has no electric water pump? So I tried opening the bleed screw and add coolant. I patiently waited to make the fluid stable and no bubbles visible. (Not sure if I did the right thing though). I closed the reservoir cap and started the engine. Temperature starting to increase. It reached 105degree celsius and slowly reach 108degree celcius. After 5mins it was at 110degree celcius so I turned it off. Is the temperature normal? If not what should I do? What is the maximum temperature for me to turn it off? Thanks

    • @mannysingh8295
      @mannysingh8295 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jumper leads are actually a battery maintainer charger to keep battery charged
      Up to voltage so it doesn't drop or battery die whilst electonic water pump runs it 12min bleeding cycle to purge any air locks etc. Battery maintainer is the best thing to connected whilst doing a electric water pump bleeding cycle. Although a battery charger can be used. I must stress if you're not knowledgeable about doing this process plse do ur research 100% or let qualified persons do it my friend. Bmw aluminium engine will overheat if not done properly. So be careful cheers

    There is no need to remove extra coolant as it will drain through the overflow. And also there's no need to hook up a battery charger, or maybe I didn't understand why. Other than that great tutorial

    • @TourettesMobileMechanic
      @TourettesMobileMechanic 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are incorrect. A heads up on this BMW you must remove the overfill of coolant or you will blow your radiator or hose off the vehicle. This is a different set up then most vehicles. I understand what your comparing to with lost vehicle it’s not a problem and it will not be a issue. However. Not on a BMW. While the vehicle is running. The easiest way tk remove the coolant is to simply adjust the bleeder screw and it will also allow and trapped air to work it self out. Great video I agree he did not explain the importance of why you must not overfill. Once it cycles two or three time then you simply slightly turn the l bleeder screw. What that will do will allow some of the extra coolant along with air to escape and evacuate the remaining air. I will be doing a video in about 2 hours on a N90 I believe I cannot remember exactly. Either way it’s a 2008 328 I and I will explain more thoroughly doing this also will get the coolant level down to the correct level as well as it will start to stream with clear fluid and knew it air at all once you have all the air out of the system if need be though you still need to check the vehicle let it cool off then open it and remove the rest after completely finishing if not he will blow hoses it will be a mess just a heads up I thought the same thing and I ended up blowing a radiator hose off so just wanted to throw that out there best of luck. I had to learn the hard way then again he has a underlying issue do I will have it resolved this evening. Regards. It was a excellent video overall and I enjoy watching educated DIY’s on here and this was to the point and got a comment and a like and subscribe from me 👏 🎉

    • @randysdiy
      @randysdiy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      you have to remove the radiator plug from the bottom of the radiator. some E90 models has two plugs, left side and right side. then remove the coolant hose from the thermostat housing. be prepared it's gonna be messy.

    You method is not professional! How you can control the coolant system is 50:50 with distilled water?
    While filing, air bubbles inside the system stop you adding and keep you lossing coolant.
    What you should do is ALWAYS pre-mixed 50:50, prior to adding any drop of coolant into the system.
    This is even, any flushing out, pipe-leakage, or like the air bubbles popping out, etc., the ratio is never change and it is 50:50.
    I don't drive BMW but know it use electric water pump. However, I would use traditional method. Turn on the engine, AC to heat, Fan to lowest speed, operation to engine getting 90c. Air bubbles will disappear next day. I use this method for my Mercedes. Meanwhile, you can buy a No-spill funnel and it has adaptor fit for BMW (but not Mercedes). Thanks.
