corn my all time favourite crop. That rosemary is gigantic compared to my minuscule stems! what an achievement having a plot for so long and it looks stunning Tilly. I enjoy the editing you do on the content and it stands out from the rest in a good way. Keep it up and another great tour everyone 👍
Oh Tilly I love your garden plots! We garden so much alike... "we garden with our hearts!" Very beautiful! Blessings on everyone and your growing season Kiddos! 🌻🐛Carolyn in Ohio 🌿💚🙏💕🥰
Enjoying the tours. So many Allotments seem to have been abandoned for many years, before they are brought back into production. The councils etc who are meant to manage these Allotments, appear to not communicate effectively with current Allotment users except to complain about silly things like numbering.
Tilly! Your plot is darling! Every nook and cranny has your personality. Also, your shirt is so pretty! I love this channel. P.s. Flo was such a sweetie!
Thanks for the tip about the borlotti beans have only every dried them such a faff when want to use them having to soak them will be freezing this years.❤🇦🇺
Yes they are my favourite and I need to get some growing next year. Tom and I will be swapping crops next year so I’m hoping I will have more scope for plenty of squash then. Thankyou for your lovely comments. ❤hope you enjoy your summer growing season.
Lovely plot 💜 also please becareful of the pallets you use and what they have been treated with.. they should have a mark stamped into them..unfortunately blue pallets are usually full of toxic chemicals and no good for compost bins!!
Thankyou. We are going to put out a request on our local Facebook for non treated pallets. They used to be everywhere but now not so much! Thanks for the advice.❤ Tilly
Tilly, you have a wonderful, nice plot. Thank you for the tour around. Your rhubarb looks amazing. How many harvests do you get in the season ? Last year I got 4, this year I got one very large harvest. You should try making rhubarb BBQ sauce. I did one year, and it was very different, but a yummy sauce 😊 looking forward to your next video xx ❤
@@julieg1270 Thankyou. I usually get one forced harvest a year and 2 more. I have just harvested a small amount today and given it a good feed phostrogen as it seems to have recovered from the fungal thing we dealt with a couple of months ago. Hannah and I are looking forward to making flavoured gins, possibly rhubarb and ginger!❤
@AllotmentFamilyDiary Rhubarb BBQ sauce 8 Cups of small cut pieces of Rhubarb 3-1/2 Cups brown sugar 1-1/2 Cups chopped raisins 1/2 Cup chopped onion 1/2 Cup apple cider vinegar ( can use white if preferred) I love apple cider vinegar myself 😃 1 tspn of salt 1 tspn ground cinnamon 1 tspn ground ginger 1 tspn ground allspice Method : put all ingredients in a saucepan and cook until all ingredients are cooked down reduced to sauce. Remove from heat and let cool completely. Use hand blender or a blender to whizz the sauce up to a smooth consistency, or can also push sauce through a mesh sieve. Pour sauce into sterile jars. And finally the best bit...... Enjoy 😄
@AllotmentFamilyDiary One thing I do for my Rhubarb every year is all the Rhubarb leaves 🍃 I throw right on top of the Rhubarb and give back that goodness to the Rhubarb. The leaves break down so fast, and it doesn't smother any Rhubarb that is still coming up. I believe that the Rhubarb leaves are a great food for itself. 😃
