Yummy harvest! I have been loving eating all the fresh food from my little raised beds. So far we have eaten corn on the cob, okra, watermelon and Lots of tomatoes! I can't even imagine leaving for a week! It's good that you have Tilly to keep an eye on things. More pics of the festival would be nice.

My spuds have just got blight. I've cut all the stems and hope. I'm in chudleigh, just over the hill

These raddishes are new to me but look very interesting! Might have to put them on my to-try list. Have you ever tried oven roasting radishes like you would carrots or other root veg? I very lightly coat my root veg including radishes with a good olive oil, season to taste and roast until just tender. Totally a different experience in veg. Lots of recipe videos out there. I don’t claim to 10:51 know anything about the mooli but it occurred to me that starting them in a water trough might help you get them started . Some people start their peas that way. Good luck with them.

You could try both ways and let us know which method is more successful. My daughter is growing mooli this year, she sowed straight into the soil but leaves are being eaten by something, hoping the roots will be okay.

I cut my current bush back to about 1 foot every years and it comes back very strong each spring 😊

Really enjoyed your video. Your garden looks wonderful. Nice insect hotel. Just about the cones - they close up quite tight in the winter or when they get wet. Any insect hiding in them would be probably crushed. Keep well you two.

With blackcurrants, prune off the branches that fruited this year.( They fruit on second year wood) Gooseberries fruit on third, fourth and fifth year old wood. So only cut off the really old and dead branches. Hope that helps.

Hi there 👋 during the growing season I don't have time to get bored as there is always something needing my attention between my orchard and the vegetable garden 😊 When the gardening season winds down and my orchard goes into dormancy, then I find time to do a good clean up of my shed and sort through all my seed packets. This year, I also want to give my gardening tools a clean up and sharpen 😊 I love the cute bug house. Tilly, I think that's also a great project when I get more downtime.
