Flowers instead of needles is my dream, too. I hope and pray every night for all lost souls in Kensington. I hope that it stays clean, but you’ve been there. I’ve been there and I will keep praying that it stays good.
My sister was diagnosed with ALS and died 8 months after her diagnosis. She fought to live. It’s so hard to watch so many young people throw their lives away with drugs when so many people are fighting terminal illnesses.
I love that you took note of the couple who were fighting and said you’d mind your own business but you’d jump in if the man put hands on the woman. There is too much violence against women in this world and good men need to step up and set an example when needed. It’s nice to know you would be one of them.

The addicts have just moved to the side streets so in reality they are closer to the residents houses which are mainly situated down the side streets than they were on the main strip

Wow so sad. Sorry you lost so many family members to it and so young too. I never lost any family members to an OD, but I have lost some friends to OD. Addiction is brutal.
Frank is one of the few good dudes out there he really helps out and truly cares I ran them streets for years been clean since Dec 30th and hope to stay that way
@@TheKatarinaGiselle There is never any real improvement there. Addiction is usually progressive, and Kensington seems to get progressively worse. It's where a lot of the worse addicts congregate unfortunately. You have to be out of your mind to go down there thinking there could be any positivity at all. They could clean it up, but that doesn't mean anything at all really.

It's not about her having longer clean time this time or that time, it's the fact that she really couldn't have been much closer to death, it took months to get her out of the hospital, and she went right back to it, that's nuts. It really isn't worth it to return to this mess. I'm 15yrs clean, I have a life so rich in the Lord, & with my family. Drugs aren't even what they use to be, & there is no occasional use. There’s a 100 reasons to use! There’s a 100 reasons to quit! PAIN is temporary! The only way to get thru the pain is to is to change that moment of choice! That spilt moment of CHOICE. It’s as easy and/or as hard as you make it. I have been clean since 1996. I was an addict of multiple drugs thru the late 70’s, 80’s & 90’s. It was not easy! But life is not easy. And now, since the internet and then TH-cam, I can visually see what is waiting for me if I decide to slip up! I didn’t have the vast knowledge and visual representation of what my life could look like if I decide to let my guard down. Like folks do now. The drugs nowadays are nasty, deadly and polluted. Remember, we have free will and choices. NOTHING, AND I MEAN NOTHING IS BETTER THAN BEING CLEAN. NOTHING! ❤❤❤

My cousin lives in Philly shes part of a church group and she tries her best to look out for the homeless people and drug addicts 😢God bless you bro and my family she shows up in the park at McPherson library with her church ppl😢

Let's say 2 out of 10 who went into treatment get clean, which is generous and more likely 1 out of 10. That's roughly 8 people out of the 36, and there are likely 1000 or more out there struggling. 8 out of 1000, that's less than 1 out of 100 people getting clean. Really really tiny amount if you do the math and think about it.
@@MancstaSam Yes, I am aware...but every life counts. Two lives or even one life saved is better than zero lives saved. Unfortunately, I lost my brother to an overdose and shortly will lose my nephew. I would love for my nephew to be the one or two whose lives are saved.

I remember they did this like 2 or 3 years ago or so too. They just chased everyone a few streets over and the news was reporting on how clean the area was in a month or so everyone was back. I doubt it's going to be any different this time. Go a couple of streets over and look for people, they'll be laying on sidewalks and sitting on people's steps a couple of streets over and on side streets. Makes me angry police and politicians acting like something was really done. It's beyond stupid. 😡
Where will they all go I’m an ex heroin addict 30 years now I was on the street at 16 Family issues etc I watch what you do. God sends angels out When we need them And you are one!

I have to disagree with Frank about Kensington being like that temporarily... The city sued Walgreens and CVS for 60 billion dollars so we have all the funding we need to keep cops patrolling around the clock... The country is in debt from all the money it issued during COVID, which is why the city didn't have the funding...

I used to go down in that area back in the day and get food stamps with my mom. When they were actually food stamp paper money 🤣🤦🏼♀️ i grew up in ne Philly. Lawncrest. I'll always be a city girl at heart. But it got so bad down there. Had to get out and come to the country. I really hope they keep cleaning the place up!!

They did the same thing here in Boston on Mass Ave, they have the cops come take the tents down but only move them to the side streets.
My wife’s birthday was also on Mother’s Day. Her mom’s birthday as well.

36 people out of 100's/1000's is a mere drop in the ocean and how many of those 36 will successfully get and stay stay clean is even more debatable

Bro 4 every time an #Addict is told they don't have a bed or place 4 them they have refused #Treatment at least 10 times. I was myself a #DrugAddict I had 2 leave #PuertoRico & make it over 2 #SoldiersOTheLord in #FrontSt its been over 15 years & counting. God Bless u

The city sued Walgreens and CVS for 60 billion dollars so we have all the funding we need to keep cops patrolling around the clock... The country is in debt from all the money it issued during COVID, which is why the city didn't have the funding...

I used to go down in that area back in the day and get food stamps with my mom. When they were actually food stamp paper money 🤣🤦🏼♀️ i grew up in ne Philly. Lawncrest. I'll always be a city girl at heart. But it got so bad down there. Had to get out and come to the country. I really hope they keep cleaning the place up!!
