I have an older reel as well, the gear ratio on those old ones is usually SLOW....but so much fun to fish with. :)

All the rock bass I catch in creeks and small rivers up here in Ohio have that pretty dark black line on the anal fins and such cool little fish to catch when you get out to the creeks

I am so glad I found your channel because every video reminds me about fishing with my grandpa. My grandpa always taught me patience and faith in Jesus Christ. Hearing your testimony at the end of this video touched me. Thank you Grandpa Richard Gene for all you do and for the wonderful impact you have had on my life and the lives of others. We used to slay rock bass up on the Little River and also on Bull Run Creek in Knox County. Pretty fish with the deep, red eyes and the jet black tips on on all their underside fins. When you see them it looks like someone dipped their fins in paint. They don't fight like bluegills (not much does) but they sure are good to eat.

Mr. Machine, my name is scottie I live in columbus ohio, my fishing roots go back to my childhood fishing along side my dad i prolly learned how to cast a spinning reel before i could walk lol, anyways i lost my dad when i was about 12 and I never really fished much after that untill recently me and a buddy have been fishing 3-4 times a week...really whenever we can cause it's good fer us, but I'll tell ya, there for a few weeks everytime we would go out we wouldnt catch not a single fish, I was ready to call it quits but I kept watching your videos and you tell us to not give up. Last night we went out and had a dagon good night, the fact of it is at the end of your videos you tell us thank you for everything we do, but I dont think you understand the impact you have on some of us. Please dont ever stop what your doing. basketball fans have michael jordan, golfers have tiger woods, but I tell ya, we have RICHARD GENE THE FISHING MACHINE. If you ever get the oppritunity you should catch us a musky I know I'd like to see it lol. Thank you so much mr machine ♡

I lived in Bama, for a few years in late 90's early 20's(A BORN TN VOL FAN by the way). He fished the area my son caught his First Bass a video or so ago...The South Saudy Creek Crappie one! I been living memories through his videos for 3 or 4 years now! Other than that dern Bama hat he wears...he is GOOD FOLK LOL Oh, I am in Ripley,WVa area now...Howdy Neighbor!
