Gary Pepper was a great man with a huge heart and love for Elvis.The end of his life was very sad.I feel sorry for that, Elvis helped him and his mother and when Elvis gone the help it vanished,i hope his items collection of Elvis keep the memory of his friendship,thank you ashley for share this amazing story of one of us,for me, we all fans of elvis can be reflected on Gary and his love for Elvis!TCB.

What other stars do you know of that genuinely liked regular people and befriended them? I'm sure there may be a few but Elvis was such a good person and didn't see himself as better than anyone else, whereas, many stars seem like that's a goal for them, to feel like they're better than others. Gary was also a good, genuine person, and it must have sustained him being friends with Elvis.

Great story Ashley - I used to read Gary's writings for Elvis Monthly and of course all the exclusive photos that he provided - he was so lucky being that close to Elvis and his family so sad how his life ended but sure that he enjoyed it as much as he could.
