    The REV'IT! Eclipse 2 Jacket builds upon its predecessor’s already exceptional features with refinements all around utilizing feedback from the riders using the original. The huge mesh panels allow plenty of airflow for maximum comfort on those extremely hot days of riding. The CE level 1 SEESMART shoulder and elbow armor is unobtrusive and gives you that piece of mind when you’re out on the road.

    I'm glad they upgraded the armor but it looks like a baggier fit than the first Eclipse. I think that's great for stockier riders but us folks with slim builds appreciated the old fit over the new one.

    Now that the eclipse has been updated, how does it compare to the air 2?

  • @bunnybunnyflopflopflop
    @bunnybunnyflopflopflop ปีที่แล้ว +2

    May I ask how the fit of the Eclipse 2 is compared to the previous generation Eclipse? Are there any notable differences in arm bagginess, jacket length etc. - the previous generation’s fit was spot on for me, so hoping to upgrade if the fit is similar (in particular the sleeve diameter, as any looser and armor may move around too much).
    As always, appreciate the good review content Rezvilla!

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The fit feels pretty similar especially when prepping for the video. It looks like REV'IT! left the cut mostly the same, but upgraded the armor. Now it'll be a bit looser in the armor areas (since the cut stayed the same but the armor got much thinner), but nothing too crazy. Hope that helps!

    I have a question, I'm looking at the REV'IT! Eclipse Jacket, and the REV'IT! Eclipse 2 Jacket (the previous version and the new version).
    Do you know if both versions of the jacket are the same fit? (general width, length, sleeve length, etc.) like if I am a size Medium in the previous version of the jacket, do you know if I will then also be a size Medium in the newer version of the jacket, and that they will fit me in the same way?
    Also are the shoulder and elbow armor pockets/provisions the same shape between the 2 jackets? Apparently they're a bit different (but the back is the same).
    I'm trying to figure out if my D30 Ghost armor would fit into the elbows and shoulders of the Eclipse 2 (very thin, squishy floppy armor). I know it fits in the previous version of the Eclipse jacket, so do you think it would therefore fit into the Eclipse 2?
    I see another response where RevZilla replied to someone and typed:
    "Yeah, the old Knox armor can be swapped out with the SeeSmart CE 1 armor. The pocket will be a bit bulky / loose afterwards (since the SeeSmart is nearly 1/6th the thickness of the Knox), but its possible."
    SeeSmart from Eclipse 2, also fits Eclipse 1.
    D30 fits Eclipse 1.
    Therefore D30 should fit Eclipse 2?
    This doesn't necessarily follow, but I'm hoping it does lol.
    I mean I could just cut it! wouldn't negatively affect anything, it's not like the whole thing needs to be in tact to do it's function (hardening on impact).

      @ridemfast7625 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Siberius- ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ridemfast7625 - Interesting.
      I'll be trying on a former version in a couple days or so and then based on that I'll order the newer one online. The newer version isn't available in my country yet, but it looks a lot prettier to me.
      Plus the armour provisions are better sized for thinner armour. I wanna replace it with D3O ghost armour, though the SeeSmart armour is much nicer than the armour in the earlier model.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  ปีที่แล้ว

      That seemed to be the point though, the Eclipse 1 was insanely popular, but CE regulations mandated that all riding gear get the CE A / AA / AAA update to legally be sold in Europe. So REV'IT! got it certified, updated the armor (huge plus), and gave it a second gen name. Wasn't meant to be a redesign, more of a compliance and armor update move to help keep it at the same price from 10 years ago.
