Here's the thing. First single with Diana I wasn't sold didn't like it. Then I pulled my head out of my a**. Diana isn't Charlotte. Can't be. SHOULDN'T BE! New singer, new sound. They embraced it and it works. And it's really growing on me. Great reaction!
I get almost an 80's sort of vibe from certain parts as well as the symphonic storytelling. The overall sound is stereotypical Delain with a new twist of a very talented new member in Diana Leah.
Since Diana Leah lives in Milan Italy now, do you think there is any chance that she is also acquainted with the folks from Frozen Crown? And is there a university there with a college specializing in heavy metal music in Milan these days?
It reminds a little bit of their cover of the good old classic Scandal by Queen, that too had a nice mix of metal and something pop-ish but still pretty heavy.

This song legit came on my TH-cam music playlist for Dynazty earlier today...I was totally thrown for a loop at first but then the guitars came in and I was like oh....no TH-cam music hasn't gone schizophrenic on me, and this song is now an instant fav for me
Dark Waters... good to know the name finally and that it's going to come out a month. I will buy a hard copy eventually but I'm still waiting for Angelina Jordan to drop her album and I'll just order them all at the same time
EDIT ... AHHH IT IS Marco H. Again ... :::: If the special guest is a woman I am betting it is Sharon Den Adel... Aside from all that, I think that if Martjn Westerholt was smart, he would also produce/ redo then market some of these songs for the Euro Dance Trance EDM, whatever you want to call it... crowd. After hearing the piano version of The Quest in the Curse, I had that idea that you can further process it and make some really good EDM music with her and him and maybe have collaborators like Armin Van Buuren
She wrote the lyrics, not the music - that’s still Martijn and his writing partner Guus (who he talks about in interviews). But she did an awesome job on the lyrics for sure! ❤
I don't think Delain has ever released a single I didn't like. I bought this album, but honestly, I wasn't impressed with it. I loved the songs they released as singles, but the rest were forgettable. It's been the same for all their albums. That wouldn't stop me from buying their albums or seeing them live (I saw them in 2015 or 2016 and they were fantastic), but it's just...odd. I dunno.
