I have to hand it to you being able to work bent over like that. I have a herniated disc in my back and after 15 mins it's throbbing. I know a Ford Master Tech and his back is screwed from working on these things day in and day out. I remember swapping an engine out of a buddy's 1980s Ford and we just sat inside the engine bay on the inner fenders. I'm only 5'8" and he was 5'6" both little guys. We had it in and out in about 90 mins.
@@ralfsautomotive I"m almost ready to build a platform in the shape of the front of mine. When I went in about mine they dont' like doing surgery anymore due to the complications from it. Last x ray showed the disc pretty much gone. I can feel the bones rubbing against each other at times....
@@muskokamike127 I was SOL problem with me was the fact that I collapsed into the floor. Disk got my nervesa! I have been dealing with constant pain in my legs ever since.
@@ralfsautomotive I hear ya! same thing happened to me. Someone was standing behind me and heard it pop. I dropped like I was hit with an axe handle. Your pain, it sometimes goes right down your legs and sometimes just your calves? That's what happens to me.
@@ralfsautomotive I do not have the software to do this but would it be possible to have a local shop turn the cvt off and then do the lock outs ? Also would it be safe to drive it a few miles after the fact ? If I were to have a local shop turn the cvt off do I need it to stay off after the lockouts are installed ?
Yes you have to reprogram the computer and disable the Phasers, in his 1st or was it 2nd video he shows you the process of programming the onboard computer
@@ralfsautomotive Just want to say: excellent series of videos. Great camera work too! I stopped watching "watchJRGO" because he did everything handheld and he'd whip around the camera like it was on a string and it affected my vertigo. I messaged him and said "why don't you just mount your camera on the end of a cordless drill and spin it that way? it's be much more efficient"!!!

LOL I had back surgery several years back and can definitely feel the effect but the fact that I am Overweight does not help LOL

Just a question: if you only loosened the one holding the spring wouldn't that eliminate the need to fish the spring back over it?
In theory yes, but we all know how that works out
Where can I find a part number for dorman lockout blocks? For dorman phasers
IDK! I made my own.
Great video by the way
@@ralfsautomotive
You should make a video on that. Making the part.
@@rcred80 LOL. I am not allowed to film in that Facility. I used a Hurco VMX84 to make it.
Do you have to do any programing if you do the lock out.
Yes

Yes, you can buy the software from HP Tuners. As stated, he goes through this in his first video.
Bang on it
Look like you turn camera off while you struggle to put phaser in..lol
I had dozen's of comments about video's too long.
just weld them save a lot of time
Do you lose power on the engine? I wouldn't think so.
No power loss at max power they would be locked anyway. And Yes, blue or red loctite is good.

Is blue lock tight required?
No, but would recommend, that way you know the dang bolts don't back out.
