I have a whole series on budget gear at different retail locations. You can find it on my channel by clicking my name and scrolling to "budget Overland Gear at Series"
Yeah it’s really tough making these videos because I’m finding all kinds of stuff at these stores harbor freight, Walmart and now tractor supply, that I never knew they carried. I’m fighting buying random stuff real hard.
Just wanted to say that I purchased seven different light bars from Amazon and tractor supply and lastly Harbor freight. The road shock light bars from Harbor freight are by far brighter than anything I had purchased. I was trying to stay under $150 budget so I didn’t go for the bigger brands and I am absolutely happy with the harbor freight lights.
I’ve had amazing luck with harbor freight. My budget go to lights are nilight (amazon) but the output isn’t quite as bright as those road shocks from what I’ve seen.
Harbor Freight is a men’s version of Bed, Bath and Beyond. You don’t really need anything but you always find and leave with something because it was a deal.
Tip on the inexpensive cast iron. Take it home and if you have a hand held grinder with a flap wheel, take that too the inside of the pan and get it as smooth as you can before seasoning it, it will work much better. It can make your cheap cast iron perform like the more expensive stuff.
I find those plastic ammo cans are pretty useful, they're cheap and even cheaper when on sale. I bought one of the smallest ones, it actually fits perfectly in the indentation in the top of the rear wheel wells inside the 5th gen 4Runner.
Yeah I wanted to talk about them but didn’t want TH-cam to demonitized the channel or something because I mentioned ammunition or something. YT isn’t to friendly to that convo. Best I can say is that I’m very pro 2nd amendment.
Those ammo cans are great, I get the plastic and metal ones when they go on sale. I use them for camera gear, ammo, and first aid. They are also great for random items.
Yeah that would be a good one. I should go get some just to have anyways. My bumper is currently off and sitting in the back of the car. Should wrap it up better so I don’t scratch the new powder coat.
I wanted to talk more about those cases since I do use them, however the things that I store inside of them don’t exactly fall in line with TH-cam’s values as far as the second amendment. So I chose not to talk about them but I really do think they are great.
@@OXFOOT I hear ya. They are silencing gun owners for sure. I watch a lot of 4x4, motorcycle, gun stuff and it’s weird how they have to dance around subjects and certain words.
@@kyjelly5524 yeah I stay away from anything that could be considered political or controversial in any way. It’s weird that TH-cam is considered a forum for speech and therefore is legally protected from what people on the platform say but also tell people what they can and can’t say. Pretty sad.
@@kyjelly5524 I also considered peppering in some of my motorcycle in content but I think it’s too far away from this stuff since it’s a Harley and not an offroad bike.
I still call it camping/ car camping or back packing depending on what type. I hate the term overland but people who are looking for car camping stuff on TH-camcall it overland.
That's because Overlanding isn't your traditional style camping. Hence why they came up with a separate term. Most Overlanding situations involve trailing down a 4x4 path to find a pretty good camping spot. Back in the days, people would just typically pull into predesignated campgrounds or just to the local lake to "camp". It wasn't as dispersed at it is now. It's a pretty balanced mixture of Off-Roading and "outback" style camping. That is why it is referred to as "Overlanding" taken from the traditions of Australian Off-Roading.
Tarps...always a good deal on tarps at HF. Also carries a cheap grommet kit if you need to add extra grommets to "customize" a tarp for a specific need.
I just tested in the field, and the HF 3 Gallon 1/3 HP 100 PSI air compressor works perfectly off the 120v plug in the bed of my 2020 Tacoma. Aired up all 4 (33" mud) tires from 20psi to 40psi within a minute each using a basic chuck.
Wow that’s wild actually. I haven’t used any of their compressors before. Sounds like they are pretty solid. I’m trying out the Napa 300LPM compressor now, but maybe I’ll give theirs a chance soon.
Hey guy just want to clarify something in the video that I hope no one would be dumb enough to make but if you get a 12,000 lb winch and a 9,500lb shackle that means you can only winch 9,500lbs. Please don’t try to use a piece of equipment above its weight rating!
@OXFOOT not sure if you clarified to viewers rope less than two inches wide is bad for a tourniquet. Material should be at least one and a half inches in width so 550 cord is a last ditch effort.
Something that should be added, NEVER use any winch components that are not tested and approved by a trusted independent lab. Many things you can cheap out on, but something that could easily kill you or a bystander is not it. The winch is fine, no idea how reliable it will be in an emergency, but if it fails it won’t directly kill you. The synthetic line, snatch blocks, d-rings etc are definitely something you shouldn’t buy if they aren’t certified at those loads. No matter how beefy they look, the material used and treatment process can make the difference between 1,000lb rating and 10,000lb rating even with the same thickness.
yes! I LOVE my $20 harbor freight hammock, and carry it in my pack everywhere! it comes with decent rugged straps and carribeaners...everything you need to hang,I added a 5x7foot rainfly from Walmart for 10$ and I have a waterproof camp system.with the right pad or quilt it would be fine for colder weather.
That sounds just like my old set up. I used to do so much with that set up. When I lived in the Appalachian mountains I would just go wonder into the woods near the parkway and spend a day or two chilling in the hammock. Fun times.
LOL... the headlamp is freaking awesome! I bought the $9 version, it when it first came out. Long story, but my yard was out of hand and summer had come and I needed to tackle the weeds. It was too hot in GA in the day, so I weeded overnight. This thing was amazing and lasted a few nights in a row. And I'm talking like 6 hours in the dark doing this. I also used it to mow the grass in the fall. It was dark at 7 when I got home and this little gem put out enough light that I could mow in the dark. Winning in my book!
No joke when I lived in North Carolina I would wash my car only at dawn or dusk so I would use both a headlamp and our street lamp to clean it. I don’t miss summer days in the south but summer nights I really do miss.
@@OXFOOT I was completely amazed myself, probably due to the lower lumen draw. I bought 2 more though... lol. One for in the car and the other as a back up for the garage. Now I am curious about the stronger version
Yeah me and a buddy yanked a Silverado up a huge rock face with that winch on metberry gulch. Basically the most difficult and steep part of the trail and the winch pulled him right up.
I actually went to HF this morning to look at overlanding gear and ended up buying the haul masters roof basket. Now your vid just popped up in my feed and im glad it did! subbed!
@@paladin11C40 I've seen another yt review saying to use sealant around the screws to prevent water being trapped and rust issues. it comes with a rubber tube that slides over after you connect and screw down each connecting point, but i still added sealant. overall, its pretty good for the price!
That’s great to hear. I actually ended up seeing some very similar… suspiciously similar at an outdoor company and they were almost $100. I’m sure there’s some quality differences but I’d you use them that often and they are still going then the quality seems to be there.
That’s good news. Most folks in the comments have praised the chair. Only heard one person say anything bad and only then they said that it tipped over with a beer on it. I’d call that a decent chair.
I use (and like!) a pair of those small RoadShock 4-LED Flood lights (no side lights in them). Plenty bright and plenty wide coverage for me! (I don't do any racing.) When splayed slightly to harmonize with the headlights coverage, they make coverage plenty wide to include tight bends in the road. I have a modest 4WD daily driver with 2" lift & rear diff locker. I temporary-mount the lights to the roof using Harbor Freight's 95 Lbs magnets (need bolts, washers & nuts), with a nitrile glove under each magnet to protect the car paint. Outside the hood, I ziptie the wires to 60 Lb magnets (again with nitrile gloves underneath). Inside the hood, I ziptie the wires in place. Inside the cab, I ziptie the wires & switch in place. No drilling or roof rack required. Works great. Never had a problem and the lights never slide around on me. Terrain is mostly *very* bumpy forest roads in Arizona, plus some low-class rock crawling.
That’s good news. I only said “go with the other one” because I know other people running those. Your the first person I talked to that has those. Glad you like them. Also wow o didn’t even know they had 95lb magnets there either. That’s pretty good.
Those headlamps are great when you have to make a repair or fix something at night. Being able to have both hands free makes it way easier to get something done.
I wouldn't recommend the jumper cables. Today's vehicles have side effects from jump starting. Best to get a jump box. The jump boxes of today are small too. Easier to deal with than them crazy cables. If you question this, just look up your car and type in side effects to jump starting to see if your vehicle would be affected. Video was great! Thanks for the info.
Yeah, I recently switched to a goal zero venture jump. I really researched it hard because I learned what jumper cables can do to a vehicle. Thanks for the heads up on that for everyone else!
Nice video, I use the "light switch" light in the back cargo area of my Jeep, the magnets hold it secure even with the top off, for only a couple bucks on sale, its cheap lighting!!!
Those first lights shown work great for me. We went with the flood not the spot, and use them as reverse lights and camp setup lights on our overland trailer. I have them wired with a hy-power diode so they activate when I put the jeep in reverse, but I can also activate them via a manual switch. All without blowing up anything the tow vehicle🤣
Yeah flood would be a lot better for reverse lights and also camp lights rather than a spot. I need to eventually go with some camp lights. I’ve been putting it off for a long time. Also nice! Love the idea of an overland trailer, glad you haven’t blown anything up yet ha.
Geat video. We carry jump packs rather than jumper cables. Some vehicles have electronics that don't allow jumping off your vehicle, 2009 Jeep, Patriot, (city Jeep), is one. I have that following camping chair and it is 5 years old, I'm an old, verticality challenged female though, a few big construction workers have sat in it too over the years, it was great to have when you were sitting or standing around watching test gauges. The folding utility knifes are really nice and you don't cry every time someone forgets to return it to you... Thank you for producing these videos. Safe travels.
That’s good to hear about that chair. I don’t know that I’ve personally even had a chair last that long even if it was expensive. The knife is great so far. If it ends up lost I think I’ll be fine with it. That’s true. Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it. Safe travels to you as well!
I bought the truck load bars, and im completely happy with my purchase. I haul 2 Big Fish 120 kayaks w the Yakima Big Catch saddles on our camping trips and saved a bunch of cash, not opting for the big name racks. The quality and sturdiness is spot on. Going to give the LED spots a shot next for late night camp set ups.
Yeah I used to always do this with tarps. They have “tent foot prints” made for tents at like almost the price of the tent but a regular tarp works fine. Like yeah, okay… it’s not the same shape and size as the tent base but who cares?
i can attest to the quality of that green camping chair with table....LOVE IT...use them exclusively for over a decade now...the only camping chair i will ever buy again...the hammock is too small to be comfortable in...the winch either with rope or cable is excellent as well...dont forget the wireless remote control...for the rest of the stuff - its cheap - it works -
Nice review. I have quite a few of the items you described. I advise against Harbor's duct tape. It is much weaker than 3M's or 'Gorilla' tape, easily delaminates (the thread fibers separate from the adhesive and backing) and has inferior adhesive. Another item that is TRASH is their battery tender. Between initial purchase and exchanges, I had 4. Every one was either non functional from the outset or failed within minutes. No, I did not reverse polarity or short them (although a decent tender has protection circuitry to tolerate such errors). I've owned both Deltrans and Yuasa battery tenders for many years (still do) but wanted to augment them with Harbor's for use on ATV batteries. I later bought another tender made by Deltrans.
Yeah I have personally only used their duct tape a few times and it’s been pretty meh. I will say that I have a battery tender for my Harley and ive had pretty good luck with it. That being said I don’t think that harbor freight stuff is bad I just think that QC from their suppliers isn’t always spot on. That’s how I can have a good working product and you can have some fail. That’s why I always hear so many mixed reviews if their stuff. It either works or it doesn’t. It’s not amazing if it does work, it just does the job. If it doesn’t work, at least they’ll replace it.
@@OXFOOT Thanks for the reply. Yes, they're pretty good on replacement PROVIDING IT"S VERY SOON AFTER THE PURCHASE. Most of the tools I've purchased have been reliable and a good value, although their price differential compared to Home Depot, Lowes, Napa, etc., has narrowed over the last year. I often will preferentially buy an American made product, especially after the CCP's increased international belligerence their initial concealment of Covid, and refusal to allow independent investigations into its origin. But it's sad to see that even traditional American brands now have their products made in China. As for their winches, I bought two 2500 lb winches for INDOOR use. Both work. But I belatedly (after warranty expiration) discovered that one has less than half the pulling power of the other. It works, but something is wrong with the internal coils/wiring
i used to have those cheaper ditch lights, ran them for a while until they got stolen, they’re very bright, they do the job, but they’re beam is pretty narrow…imo def worth the money
Yeah I had a buddy running them for a while and they were really nice for what you get. Way higher quality and aesthetics than any other cheap LEDs I’ve been around.
Those rock lights are realy nice to mount in your rear bumper and with some wirei g magic you can have a switch that has them come on with reverse, off, on independently of reverse lights. As for the snatch block you can also use them to redirect your pull if you want to pull something off to the side like if you have cut up a tree and you need to move it off the trail.
That sounds like I good idea. I swear I can’t see anything when I back up at night. I’m always glad I have a backup cam because there isn’t enough light from the taillights.
I'm a little selective as to what I buy from HF but I'm also selective when buying from REI. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas....Keep it up.
I agree. It’s really trial and error with them sometimes but generally the stuff I mentioned here is probably pretty full proof. I had a rule about not buying power tools there but I also have an angle grinder that’s done amazing, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Yeah hf isn't terrible unless ya buy battery tools but their newer ones seem to have gotten better..but corded tools are perfectly fine for an occasional use tool . daily use would be better to at least buy Ryobi or similar brands but they can be had refurbished off eBay for half cost. Hand tools I buy there a lot because they have lifetime warranty..who cares if it's a cheap tool it works .I've rarely broken a harbor freight tool .if you use em wrong no brand will survive.
Something that should be addressed is that you do need a fairlead and not a roller fairlead using rope (at least what I have been told) with the winches. the rope will bind up in the rollers where the cable doesnt. Just something I was told once.
Yeah I don’t exactly know why but that makes sense. Yeah the roller fairlead are for the steel only. If you go synthetic with that winch then switch the fairlead as well.
To me the best thing for any situation is a come-along. I have gotten more more vehicles out of bed situation without having to use a winch. A come-along is cheap and you can use it anywhere. The othe important things are ropes and chains. Not to mention tools at harbor freight have the same warranty expensive brands do. I’ve been a diesel mechanic for 40 years I buy many tools from them because of price.
I’ve never used a come along before because I usually just go with a dedicated winch pretty quickly after starting a build. It seems like a nice cheap option to a full on winch and it performs pretty much the same function. It looks kind of dangerous though. I’d have to do more research on them because sometimes looks can be deceiving.
@@OXFOOT just get one and try it out. We have used them to move things you'd never believe. I used to rebuild trash trucks the cylinders on those trucks are weird shapes and extremely heavy. Also used come-along to straighten bent frames. The only thing that will stop you is your mind. In my day every 4 wheeler had at least 2 come alongside one cable an one chain. It would at least make a great video have fun.👍
@@richardhenry1969 I got my come along from Harbor Freight, just haven't found a place to store it in or on my vehicle yet, so it just sits in the trunk! But yep! Cheap option and arguably sometimes has a better angle than a forward mounted wench
@@wreckitmech306 you wouldn’t believe some of the stuff I’ve done with a come-along in the army I changed a clutch in the middle of the desert all I had was a handful of tools a diggers bar ( in the army they are tankers bar). Fun times especially because I was airborne infantry but I had more experience then our mechanic. Truthfully I don’t think he could change a tire. Lol
I’ve got their small shovel, hatchet, and bow saw strapped up in my rig! Hopefully they won’t let me down when the day comes that I need to use them! 😂
Oh damn that’s not a bad idea with the bow saw. I can think of so many situations I could have used that. I have a hatchet and an axe and so far those have been alright.
I keep the shovel and hatchet in my Jeep for camping. I have the folding saw not the bow saw, but I would imagine it would be reliable. I did have to put a better edge in the hatchet though
Hf is wonderful..i got 2 11x15(heavy duty) tarps, rope, machete, ax,foldable hand saw, chargeble camping fan/light, tarp tie towns, mini shovel, exc..so much stuff for so cheap
Great video. I personally love HF for a lot of things. There's a few things I've tried that are duds, but overall I've been very happy with tools and things from there. One thing I was very happy about are their Jerry cans. Coupled with some plain caps off of Amazon, they are very serviceable cans that are better size and tougher than plastic gas jugs
Well Done Video on Gear available at Harbor Freight. I shop there and never really took the time to browse the aisles. I will on my next visit. Thanks for sharing the info.
So there may be some differences at your store due to location and that this was shot in the summer but I think they keep a lot of the stuff year round. Worst case you can have it delivered to your local store.
I pulled an escalade out of his freshly sodded yard at his brand new house w my badlands 12000# winch. Knucklehead was just gonna park it in the grass for some pix... trashed the yard but my 200.00 winch saved the day!
Have 2 of those Jerry cans and with the info I have gleamed they are made by the company that produces nato Jerry cans and the only difference between the originals and the harbor freight version is the nozzle and neck to meet some certain governmental requirements for consumer use
Thanks that’s really good information. Once I get a bumper to mount them I think I’ll just go with those. There’s some law about US nozzles that makes them weird, if you look at older gas cans supposedly they were a lot better. I’m not a gas can expert though.
The green folding chair, we have one with a Toyota logo and it fits under the back deck, above the spare tire in a special tray. It didn't come with the car either. Lol!
Yeah almost everything I’ve bought from there that isn’t electronic I’ve been very happy with. I’ve really only had a chainsaw mess up but they replaced it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I disagree. Rechargeable batteries have a fairly short shelf life between charges. Alkaline batteries much longer. Since tools, flashlights, or whatever in vehicles are only used occasionally, it's better to have a set of alkaline batteries stored separately and installed when needed.
Great video! Never knew that they had cast iron there. One suggestion is the tool bag section, they have these black canvas bags that are great for tool storage 8nder the seat.
Yeah it’s not my go to brand of cast iron but it’s still cast iron. Unless a company blatantly lies about the cast iron they are usually pretty similar.
Hey, just wanted to add that I bought a chain from HF a few years ago, and it has worked well. I'm not sure if it was called "Logger's chain" or "Trucker's chain", something like that and I think it was around $80. It's not terribly long, I want to say 20' and zinc plated. I had to use it at my work one time. A Semi (with trailer) was jackknifed in a snow/ice storm and about to slide into a concrete wall in our lot. I hooked the front of my pickup to his front bumper and it took a couple tries but managed to drag him off the wall.
Yeah I hadn’t messed with their chains very much but my dad has a lot of chains and stuff for towing and for emergencies and he’s a big harbor freight guy. Yeah that’s nice I’d rather have a strap in that situation but the chain has a lot more uses and would likely be a better purchase if you’re mostly doing on road recoveries where it’s less likely to be a yanking pull. Maybe I should consider carrying some chain with me as well.
@@OXFOOT there’s a lot of uses for a chain that a strap isn’t good for. I live in the Pacific Northwest and everyone I know carries a big chain. Probably because that’s what is used when logging lol. Side note: besides duct tape a roll of bailing wire is essential in a lot of situations also a roll of #36 bank line comes in handy. Add a couple of heavy duty needles and you can stitch up just about anything with the bank line. Cheers

All great advice! Thanks so much. Yeah everyone back home (North Carolina) used to carry chains with them. We also used to camp with chain saws too. It’s weird how it’s so different in different areas.
personally I prefer using reflective cord and glow in the dark stake caps and toggles that I got from amazon... but the glow in the dark cord is handy too.
Reflective probably makes more sense if you walk around with a headlamp which I usually do. Maybe I’ll have to check that out. The glow in the dark chord isn’t super bright so you might be in to something.
The reflective line I have will pick up light from the camp fire, or a flashlight even with a red headlamp the reflective I use is noticeable even if the GITD is not. The biggest problem with glow in the dark is it has to soak up light to be able to glow (sometimes for minutes, sometimes for hours depending on the product). How long depends on the quality of the GitD material used. If you are like me (or several outdoor channels I follow) it is not uncommon to roll/hike into camp just before sundown if not after. that does not give much time for the GITD material to build up a charge. It is not uncommon for GITW to be depleted in the middle of the night when you want to slip over to the latrine. I do still make use of GitD as mentioned above I have stake caps and toggles, I like to mark containers with GitW paint or tape (especially important ones like first aid kit which has a GitD first aid cross patch glued onto it.) and I have often had GitW tape rings around my fire extinguisher (a band on the bottom, and a band just below the shoulder of the cylinder) I used to have GitW paint on my old scuba gear for similar reason. the more ways you can make your stuff noticeable, the easier it is to spot in an emergency or the less likely you are to trip over it in the wee hours. I like to have both reflective and GitD on safety items as well. As I replace my camping gear it will again be getting GitD and Reflective treatment. Some reflective tape and GitD paint or tape on a new first aid kit, red reflective (harbor freight and amazon both have red/white reflective tape for trailers) on fire extinguishers. it is not a bad idea to mark easily lost items with reflective tape or reflective paracord. I presently have an iorange and black (harley colors) paracord key chain on my key fob, but since I have push button ignition, I tend to keep my keys attached to my belt at all times. I am still considering replacing the orange and black with orange and reflective (my tacoma is orange) if you have electric lanterns for camp it is not a band idea to mark the switch for your light with GitD (I used to have one with GitD paint around the switch bezel.)
I LOVE HARBOR FREIGHT!!! I understand it’s not top quality. But man. It gets you started to see if you need a real deal tool. Nothing wrong with that @oxfoot plus. I’m a huge Pittsburgh fan haha. Grew up outside the area lol. Thanks for the harbor freight reviews.
Yeah that’s how I treat it. I’ll buy something and then assess if I need something better down the road. It’ll the Pittsburg or another product does fine then I stuck with it, if not I’ll just buy something else and I only spent a few $$ on the harbor freight thing.
My brother actually just moved to Penn from California. I think he’s in philly though. I’ve heard Pittsburg and philly are completely different though.
I can tell you the light switch type lights are great inside a camper top. My top has a carpeted interior. So it just took a couple of pieces of velcro to put on the wall.
Great video, and good for you pointing out that you can get decent budget gear at easily found locations; Our overland rig has quite a few odds and ends (zip ties, tape, tool bags, rags, some specialty tools, bottle jacks, flash lights) from HF as well as some recovery items like straps, shackles, a heavy duty come along (as a backup winch) and a few other things....
Yeah i think even people who are scared of harbor freight would be fine just buying stuff like that. Straps are straps for the most part, same with zip ties, and little things like that. Now I can kinda understand people scared to buy a winch from there but I think harbor freight has much better sourcing tactics lately and actually find good stuff to keep in stock.
That’s something a lot of folks don’t know. Good info. I like that the little knife has that seatbelt cutter on it as well. Pulling the headrest in an emergency isn’t a bad thing though.
If you need to break the window from the outside. Your antenna stops off and at the end is a little ball(metal antennas) hold the antenna flush to the window pull the ball back and let it snap. Break the window
Great video. I'm a gun/flashlight guy and I can attest to the apache cases. Bought one for a pistol to take to MT on a trip. It took a beating and worked great. Still using it today 4yrs later. Grabbing one of the rifle cases next. Now on the flashlights i have no experience with HB brand. I prefer Olights, Streamlights, and a handful of others. Check out the Sorfin headlamp on Amazon. I have 4 or 5 of them. Great run time, super bright and comes with a rechargeable 18650. I've used them for mountain biking and for checking on the chickens. Great torch.
I’ll have to check out that Amazon one. That’s one of the videos I’ll be doing pretty soon after the tractor supply one. I too enjoy the second amendment but don’t like to talk about my related items because of TH-cam censorship. I thought about making a Patreon only content section with things related to defense like that. Trying to find any way of not saying the “G you N” word on here because I’m not sure if they have some sort of filter for certain words, ha.
@@OXFOOT Totally understand. Lots of censorship going on these days. Can't be to careful. Always good to have a new voice on the interwebs. Do you have a channel anywhere else like Rumble?
I have a nitecore headlamp had it for close to 10 years now never had an issue only 1 which was my mistake changed batteries and apparently the dead one rolled under my truck and I squished it it still holds juice but is out of round and won't fit in the light tube😂
Not to call out the full size truck @oxfoot and I had to winch up a rock face with my winch but...kind of have to call that guy out. Winch worked great. Badlands APEX is an amazing value!
Man I really should have filmed that. Would have been perfect for this video. Didn’t want to embarrass the dude if he felt embarrassed. His axel broke, wasn’t his fault but still didn’t want to film it.
information notice:, the harbor freight winchs are second hand units made by smittibilt winchs !, the fairlead is ok, but for the money get a fairlead roller instead, the roller places the cable or rope back where it came from, the cover does not, !the lights are made from instalight, cheaper online. the straps are great when used doubling up, u shape. straight pull it will break, the strap state 20,000#, no have of that. remember , 20,000# is max strength, working load is always half.
On the lights, you got it wrong. The idea of "Ditch lights" is to flood the area closer to you and cover the sides so you can see to the right and left more. This is why they are mounted at an angle not pointing front. You want FLOOD not SPOT for this function. Rock lights are for lighting up next to your tire so you can get placement/line right.
I have my ditch lights set up as flood lights but I also don’t have side shooting lenses on them. Mine are bajas and are great as a flood. The idea of the side shooting lenses is that it is a flood at that point because the light pattern shown on the box doesn’t include the side pods.
@@OXFOOT The side lights just don't throw enough light. Not for good wide angle view. At the end of it, you want your ditch lights to be flood, and your bar to be mounted high and be 'spot' to focus light in distances. This means you get 3 coverage points, up close (flood), main headlights (med), and light bar (distant)
I had a too light bar and absolutely hated it. In Colorado it’s too dusty for them. I have a bumper light bar because the top mounted light bar just usually illuminates dust and snow. I’m not a fan.
I have a buddy who runs the exact like for ditch and seems to think it lights up enough in the side pods. I don’t disagree that typically you would want a flood. I like the baja flood/spot combo personally.
Yeah for real, I have some expensive stuff I’ve bought but only because most of my gear is budget stuff that I’ve done a lot of research on and was able to save for the expensive stuff.
Great List! I love harbor freight, sadly were currently in Hawaii and I won't be able to buy any tools until were back in the mainland. I also have some cube ditch lights I got for my truck and love them! Looking forward to following your channel :)
Damn, they don’t have harbor freight on the island? I have a video coming up with Walmart, do you guys have that there? I’m guessing shipping from the mainland is pretty bad from traditional camping and offroad shops. The offroad community there is a whole other ball game from what I’ve seen.
@@OXFOOT I’m not sure about harbor freight being here or not but they definitely have Walmart! I was more talking about how we wouldn’t be able to fit anything more into our suitcases lol!
So I just wanna say for everyone looking at those rock lights y’all they are worth it. I have 4 of them and the rest of my lights are HEISE ones and they are just as good as the HEISE lights and the road shock brand is completely worth the low price. They are completely waterproof
Thanks for this. It has really bugged me that so many overlanders post their equipment and everything that is name brand. Not everybody has the money for name brand and overlanding isn’t made for the rich. Shouldn’t be anyways. It amazes me when you see people talking about their new something they got from a show that was $800. When Amazon or Walmart or HF has a similar item for only $99. LOL I love Harbor Freight and have already planned on getting some things. This is a great video for the regular / normal person that doesn’t have the 120k overlanding rig.
Yeah I’ve pretty much hit all of those stores you mentioned except for amazon. I have that video scheduled to go live at jan 27th. I’ve been really happy with most of my budget gear that I’ve used. On occasion cheap stuff is junk but that’s why I use TH-cam to watch reviews on stuff.
One thing I do is I keep the dimensions of items I own that I want to get cases for. When I find a case somewhere that might fit something I own and what to contain for protection, I look up the measurements in my notes to see if it will fit.
Awesome video man, Subbed! Great reccomendedations. I am the last thing from an overlander but I use a lot of the stuff from Harbor Freight that you highlighted.
Yeah I never really saw myself as an overlander. I was just a backpacker that liked offroading and got too lazy to do overnight hikes. Then the more I put the word “overland” in the title the more views the videos got. And here we are now haha.
@@OXFOOT overlanding is such a popular hobby. I like the idea of it but I don't think I would ever make the investment for an overlanding rig personally. Have you been to the MOORE expo in Springfield, MO?
Harbor freight has really come around in the last decade. If you guys would’ve seen how cheaply made all their stuff was when I was a kid. The place used to have the weirdest smell. Like I can’t even explain it. Anyway, some of this stuff looks really nice. I would def buy three or four recovery straps as backups in case some broke.
Yeah I remember the one near me growing up was pretty iffy but that might just have been that location. I really do think it’s come a long way in really the last maybe 10 years.
I’ve got some other videos on some budget stuff that’s good for a beginner as well. I always say to buy the budget one and then if you feel like you need to upgrade you can and you can sell the old one or have a back up. If you find that the budget option is enough, then you saved yourself the trouble and money of buying the top brand.
Yeah it’s not a perfect replacement for a shop but between that and online shopping you can likely get most things you need, you might just not be able to see what you need in person first.
That’s so much weight but it looks like you have a pretty large unimog so I’m guessing you need that type of weight. That’s awesome, really cool build!
Great video . HF isn't as bad as people think. Know that I no that shackles are ok. Thank you so much . I agree every one should at least carry a folding box blade knife . One you might what to check out is Milwaukee 5-1 at HD . The screw driver feature is a very useful . I have spare 1/4 bit for mine as a use it at work and home .
Yeah I think it gets a bad reputation because of some random people saying it the loudest. They do get pretty much everything from China but it’s not like Lowe’s gets everything in the US either.
I’ll have to try that out. Looked at the price and it looked pretty good for Milwaukee, usually they are pretty expensive but they are also considered the best consumer brand.
The flash light is great just check the soldering on the spring that connects to the LED. Mine came off after a couple of months. Just have to resolder better.
I have that camp chair. I only use it around the garage and rarely fold it down so don't care about how thin it can't get. I move it constantly and toss it on a pile of stuff when I shut down for the night, etc. It is study and holds my 220 lb weight very solidly. I will warn anyone that putting a large drink or stuff on the table might tip over once you get out of the chair, but otherwise it has been excellent.
Yeah it looks thin enough for something like that. Honestly for the average person it’s probably not even bad for camping. I have a hammock chair I use now that’s bigger but I like the comfort. The little table is probably more of a gimmick but I’d imagine it’s better to eat off of. Most of the time I make steaks at camp and I’d rather cut a steak on that little table rather than my lap.
I have personally seen those HF snatch blocks and farm jacks fail and come apart on multiple occasions during pulls/lifts that were far below rated capacity. I do carry one of their aluminum 3000lb race jacks with the wheels removed; it's way smaller than a farm jack and not quite as easy to hurt yourself with.
Yeah I like that idea, it’s kind of like the pro eagles that some people carry with them. I’d feel a lot safer with that. Does it rattle slot offroad? It seems like something that would.
@@OXFOOT Nah, bro; I made an aluminum base plate for it that stiffens it's belly when I set it on uneven surfaces and locks into the factory loops in the floor at the back of my TJ's bed. With a bunch of camping and recovery gear piled on top of it, you don't know it's there until you go to use it.
I have the chair. I like it. The only problem is with the side table. If you have any weight on it (I have a 32 oz. insulated mug) and you stand up....the chair will fall over because the chair is so light.
Well most of the time light weight would be a good thing but yeah that sucks. I mean if that’s the worst complaint you have about it, that’s not so bad.
Yeah I honestly have found great uses for it around the yard. I don’t really have a rear bumper so I don’t have a great place to mount it so it does take up a bit of space. I’ll have to try the HF jack. I didn’t see many that were that tall when I was looking around but I didn’t do a ton of digging into the jacks and what all they offer.
OX man you're right about hi-lift being dangerous but you don't have to have one for a lifted truck get a pump jack under the axel SAVE YOUR hi-lift for looks that's what I do
Yeah I like my hilift and all but I think eventually I would like to go that route or like a pro eagle or something. I like my teeth too much to be messing with hilifts too much.
That’s good to hear. I’ve got a couple of cheap LED lights around as well. They don’t usually break the paint on them just fades or they crack or something.
Yeah I love the ones from them that still works. There’s been a few that haven’t but they have a good return policy. My go to angle grinder is my Pittsburg one.
For this very reason ive been considering setting my ditch lights to be able to be triggered independently. Like one switch for the right side and one for the left so I can have the ditch light on the passenger side facing off the road and not hit oncoming traffic.
I have a whole series on budget gear at different retail locations. You can find it on my channel by clicking my name and scrolling to "budget Overland Gear at Series"
Sometimes if I wander around Harbor Freight for an hour I find things I never knew I needed. So I try not to browse around too much, lol.
Yeah it’s really tough making these videos because I’m finding all kinds of stuff at these stores harbor freight, Walmart and now tractor supply, that I never knew they carried. I’m fighting buying random stuff real hard.
But particularly Harbor freight because it’s so cheap.
Ditto man.... Ditto
I've only managed to walk in and out of a HF 1 times and only get what i needed. Every other time I spent 10x what I went there to spend
One of the greatest joys is wandering in HF.
Do you remember what lights you did from tractor supply? I’m working on that video right now lol.
I’ve used the pods and the 7” bar on boats for years and they’re always great
Harbor Freight is a men’s version of Bed, Bath and Beyond. You don’t really need anything but you always find and leave with something because it was a deal.
It’s true
Tip on the inexpensive cast iron. Take it home and if you have a hand held grinder with a flap wheel, take that too the inside of the pan and get it as smooth as you can before seasoning it, it will work much better. It can make your cheap cast iron perform like the more expensive stuff.
That’s a good idea, thanks for the information!
That harbor freight has way more stuff then mine does.
Damn that sucks. Sorry about that. You can find a lot of alternatives online at harbor freight or maybe even Walmart (next video).
Definitely. I dont recall seeing half this merch. Maybe I ll.have to look again
I found the jerry gas cans at mine, only had 3 in stock but here in SoCal there's practically 1 harbor freight in every other city.
@@OXFOOT I’m in Denver area, too. Do you mind sharing which store this is? Spotted a couple of things I didn’t recognize. Thx
@@matthewreece3926 It's the harbor freight in lakwood off colfax.
Life hack tip. Micro fiber cloths double as bibs while eating and driving. They save your shirt from drips and cling to your shirt and stay in place.
That’s a pretty good call. I always eat while I’m driving on road trips and I always have a microfiber in the car. I’ll have to try this
One other thing you might consider is a moving blanket to put across the winch cable. It will weigh it down enough to keep things a little safer.
Yeah that would be a good one. I should go get some just to have anyways. My bumper is currently off and sitting in the back of the car. Should wrap it up better so I don’t scratch the new powder coat.
They sell them at HF!
Waterproof cases, shovels, axes, tarps, safety glasses, hitch carriers, step stools, saw. Lots of cool stuff.
I wanted to talk more about those cases since I do use them, however the things that I store inside of them don’t exactly fall in line with TH-cam’s values as far as the second amendment. So I chose not to talk about them but I really do think they are great.
I should have tried out their aces but I’ve got so many already ha.
I remember when Overland was called Camping.
@@jakealcazar3805 that’s exactly the way I’ve always went camping.
@@Islandlazy99 Of course you did! Lol
@@jakealcazar3805 Humm, you’re really hung up on the word. Okay, just for you. Overland is not Camping. There you go. 😊
Tarps...always a good deal on tarps at HF. Also carries a cheap grommet kit if you need to add extra grommets to "customize" a tarp for a specific need.
I actually just built a cheap awning out of one of their tarps and some extendable paint sticks. I filmed it but I’m not sure it’s worth a video.
@@OXFOOT doing a video all about tarps and awnings would be great
Yep picked up 2 11x15 heavy duty tarps for i believe $35-$40 bucks
I just tested in the field, and the HF 3 Gallon 1/3 HP 100 PSI air compressor works perfectly off the 120v plug in the bed of my 2020 Tacoma. Aired up all 4 (33" mud) tires from 20psi to 40psi within a minute each using a basic chuck.
Wow that’s wild actually. I haven’t used any of their compressors before. Sounds like they are pretty solid. I’m trying out the Napa 300LPM compressor now, but maybe I’ll give theirs a chance soon.
Yes - I’ve used several models of HF compressors and have been happy. Even the small 12V is good for airing up.
I love HF. All of the high-end elites don't like redneck stores. I'm a redneck, so I have the ability to make things work.
Yeah I’m a big fan of harbor freight. For the most part it’s got some really great stuff!
My brother has one of those green folding camp chairs. Been rocking it out for over 15yrs. Def a good buy!
Awesome! I don’t think I’ve ever had a chair last me more than a few years with pretty regular use.
I used that large reciever mount D ring on my f250 to pull a tow truck carrying 2 vehicles. It's plenty strong.
Nice! That’s great news!
I’ll see if I can’t cut that out. TH-cam took away annotations so I’ll see what I can do.
@@daveh4864 I have removed that section out. It shouldn’t show up anymore in the next 5-6 hours.
@@OXFOOT Thx. We all appreciate you!
That’s awesome that it lasted that long. My expensive REI one goes into some sort of weird limp mode if I used it for 6 hours straight.
@@OXFOOT I was completely amazed myself, probably due to the lower lumen draw. I bought 2 more though... lol. One for in the car and the other as a back up for the garage. Now I am curious about the stronger version
Love the apex 12k winch. Ive pulled out much bigger rigs with my tundra using the winch. Very good.
Yeah me and a buddy yanked a Silverado up a huge rock face with that winch on metberry gulch. Basically the most difficult and steep part of the trail and the winch pulled him right up.
Had mine for a few months. Never used it
The Apex is king yes
I love my apex have both of the badlands 12k winch’s apex is a lot better but both are good
I actually went to HF this morning to look at overlanding gear and ended up buying the haul masters roof basket. Now your vid just popped up in my feed and im glad it did! subbed!

Nice, I’ll have to try a few of them out. I Java some REI one I’ve had for years, might be time to add some back ups.
Those green chairs are AMAZING. Had my 3 for 5 years probably they're my construction office chairs and my camping chairs. Use every day to this day.
That’s great to hear. I actually ended up seeing some very similar… suspiciously similar at an outdoor company and they were almost $100. I’m sure there’s some quality differences but I’d you use them that often and they are still going then the quality seems to be there.
The camping chair at 7:40 is awesome! in-laws got it for me a few years back and I love it!
That’s good news. Most folks in the comments have praised the chair. Only heard one person say anything bad and only then they said that it tipped over with a beer on it. I’d call that a decent chair.
The magnetic lights are great for working under the hood (or chassis) at night.
Yeah I could see that. Lots of good metal to stick them to!
I temporary-mount the lights to the roof using Harbor Freight's 95 Lbs magnets (need bolts, washers & nuts), with a nitrile glove under
each magnet to protect the car paint.
About use of magnets: important to wash clean each mounting spot before placing magnet, to prevent dust/dirt from grinding into paint.
I really like synthetic rope on a winch. I've seen both synthetic rope and steel cable snap, with the synthetic much less dramatic.
I only buy synthetic for my stuff. Steel is also very heavy.
I can personally say using steel cable in the snow sucks sooo bad. Synthetic is priceless.
@@TheStupidestMoFo .. Since I live in the south, not a big issue for me. But I'll take your word for it.
Dont think a HF winch can actually pull 12K lbs. They like to BS alot of them specs.
Those headlamps are great when you have to make a repair or fix something at night. Being able to have both hands free makes it way easier to get something done.
Oh yeah. I have a lot of headlamps now but these are great for around the house back you ones for me.
Just about knocked a few teeth out while holding a flashlight in my mouth - now a dedicated headlamp guy!
That rechargeable headlamp is badass. It is heavy, but it works, and has a AA cell battery pack if you find yourself unable to charge.
Yeah it looks nice. Glad you like it, thanks for sharing your feedback with us.
Maybe someone will see this comment and give it a chance
Nice video, I use the "light switch" light in the back cargo area of my Jeep, the magnets hold it secure even with the top off, for only a couple bucks on sale, its cheap lighting!!!
That’s actually a good idea. I might do that when I build my drawer system. A light to actually see in the drawers with the flip of an actual switch.
Did I mention the tarps are great tent footprint covers ?
That’s awesome! Sounds like they are really working well for you. Been trying to get my dad on these with his kayaks.
Yeah I used to always do this with tarps. They have “tent foot prints” made for tents at like almost the price of the tent but a regular tarp works fine. Like yeah, okay… it’s not the same shape and size as the tent base but who cares?

i can attest to the quality of that green camping chair with table....LOVE IT...use them exclusively for over a decade now...the only camping chair i will ever buy again...the hammock is too small to be comfortable in...the winch either with rope or cable is excellent as well...dont forget the wireless remote control...for the rest of the stuff - its cheap - it works -
That’s great! I didn’t know anything about it so I didn’t want to recommend it. Glad it worked out for you.
Yeah also the single nest hammocks aren’t exactly my favorite. I have a double and that’s much better for camping.
The rocks lights are bright!
I have a 2000 blazer and wired them as my interior lights. 10/10 recommend them for anything
Yeah I have a lot of their tools and some power tools from them. I like the price but I really like the price coupled with the warranty.
@@OXFOOT just get one and try it out. We have used them to move things you'd never believe. I used to rebuild trash trucks the cylinders on those trucks are weird shapes and extremely heavy.
The rack is great if you need to fit big things in the back of your truck but still want a tent up top! Great for work trucks too!
I’m about to buy a truck here soon, maybe I’ll give it a shot until I get my topper.
I also checked out Walmart, a lot of the stuff you found was there, thanks!
I actually have a video on Walmart. I did find a lot of overlapping stuff between the two places as well.
Yeah I just wish they could keep them in stock where I live. The jerry cans are always gone here. Glad you like them, I’ll have to try them.
Can you post a link to the gas caps? Thanks!
Nice! That story reminds me so much of something that would happen where I grew up. Escalade stuck in his own sodded yard lol.
@@ThePrezObozo yeah at least he got that solid Instagram shot with the Escalade in the yard lol.
Escalade drivers, one of the worst variety of drivers on the road(or off)
Have 2 of those Jerry cans and with the info I have gleamed they are made by the company that produces nato Jerry cans and the only difference between the originals and the harbor freight version is the nozzle and neck to meet some certain governmental requirements for consumer use
Thanks that’s really good information. Once I get a bumper to mount them I think I’ll just go with those. There’s some law about US nozzles that makes them weird, if you look at older gas cans supposedly they were a lot better. I’m not a gas can expert though.
Spectre out of Canada makes mil spec cans. Those Jerry cans are a Chinese knock off.
The headlamp you first showed is nice for mechanic work and it has an adjustable beam. The brighter ones are often too bright.
Yeah that makes sense. I only like them being very bright if the beam pattern is super wide.
I had a bright flood light headlamp and it was nice in that way but it broke. Mine now is a backpacking one.
The green folding chair, we have one with a Toyota logo and it fits under the back deck, above the spare tire in a special tray. It didn't come with the car either. Lol!
I have a few things from there and... most of them I've really liked!
Yeah almost everything I’ve bought from there that isn’t electronic I’ve been very happy with. I’ve really only had a chainsaw mess up but they replaced it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I love the Quantum brand lights and headlamps. Do yourself a favor tho and get the ones with the built in rechargeable batteries.
I gotta look into that. All my batteries in the house are rechargeable, I try not to get non rechargeable ones when I can.
I carry the gordon drop point as my daily as a mechanic. Works great.
Nice! Glad to hear!
Cheers
I am totally laying in my HF hammock while watching this video. It works great.
Lol. Yeah that’s great. All those tents feel pretty much the same. If it only last half as long as my 10 year old ENO hammock it’s a good purchase.

Yeah I need to get me some. I want to get a tear drop this year and I think they would be nice inside there.
They would work great in there.
Please be careful with their zip ties if you actually expect them to hold any load.
@@linkdude64 I never use zip ties of any brand for heavy loads. I like bailing wire for stuff like that.
fyi, if you ever have to break your window from the inside. You can remove your headrest and use the steal post to break the window.
That’s something a lot of folks don’t know. Good info. I like that the little knife has that seatbelt cutter on it as well. Pulling the headrest in an emergency isn’t a bad thing though.
@@OXFOOT yeah, the seatbelt cutter is a handy add-on to the knife.
If you need to break the window from the outside. Your antenna stops off and at the end is a little ball(metal antennas) hold the antenna flush to the window pull the ball back and let it snap. Break the window
Another fyi. Alot of newer vehicles need a pin in a tiny hole to release the clip on headrests these days
The headrest thing is a myth. It does NOT work.
I love harbor freight. Have a magnetic Quantum light I use for work every day. Been great and was crazy cheap
That’s awesome. I need to try more stuff from there. Some stuff I’ve been meaning to get but just haven’t tried out yet.
"First lights you need are ditch lights" - I said 'this must be a toyota guy', checked out your other videos and sure enough... LOL
You a light bar guy?
Aka “are you a Jeep guy?”
Pls do share your ideas and suggestions on your mods, if not carry on..
What is a Ditch Light??
It said nothing on the package about a Ditch!
I had a similar thought, lol.
Was a dope test of the winch though. It worked out really well!
I need to try those rock lights now ha. Or if you are I need to find out if they are any good.
@@OXFOOT Oh well, it is what it is. Did work great! I should have them on before the Expo so you can check them out then!
@@OverlandEngineer hell yeah man that’ll be dope! I need to get that on my calendar; already bought tickets but I totally forgot when it is…
information notice:, the harbor freight winchs are second hand units made by smittibilt winchs !, the fairlead is ok, but for the money get a fairlead roller instead, the roller places the cable or rope back where it came from, the cover does not, !the lights are made from instalight, cheaper online. the straps are great when used doubling up, u shape. straight pull it will break, the strap state 20,000#, no have of that. remember , 20,000# is max strength, working load is always half.
Rock lights are for tire placement yes, but IF I got them I would use them for camp.
I like the baja flood/spot combo personally.
great video. you dont have to break the bank buying name brand gear for off roading.
Snatch blocks are for doubling pulling force on a cables/rope. Pulling force is continuously multiplied the more blocks are used.
Great video, with some great ideas thanks. Great job testing the knife.
Thanks!
So I just wanna say for everyone looking at those rock lights y’all they are worth it. I have 4 of them and the rest of my lights are HEISE ones and they are just as good as the HEISE lights and the road shock brand is completely worth the low price. They are completely waterproof
Are you using them as rock lights or scene pods for camping? I’ve seen them used in both ways.
But also glad they are working for you.
LOL
I love Harbor Freight and have already planned on getting some things.
But yeah exactly, I don’t have 120k to throw down on a rig. There’s just now reason to spend a ton of money when there’s a cheaper version.
One thing I do is I keep the dimensions of items I own that I want to get cases for. When I find a case somewhere that might fit something I own and what to contain for protection, I look up the measurements in my notes to see if it will fit.
Damn that’s like next level organization. I need to step up my storage game. That’s something I need to work on this year.
@@OXFOOT For sure. With the addition of ICON tools and their new boxes.. it really changed the way people bought tools there. Lots of nice stuff now
Shenzhen factory stank
Great video and thanks for putting this out. I've been looking for more beginner friendly videos for Overlanding/camping gear suggestions.
Definitely a great video and I think I’m gonna check out harbor freight! There are absolutely no off-road shops near me haha
Yeah it’s not a perfect replacement for a shop but between that and online shopping you can likely get most things you need, you might just not be able to see what you need in person first.
I buy my straps online in hoist/crane supply shops. 3ton hoisting strap 10meter is 30 euro (breaks at 21Ton) 😃
That’s so much weight but it looks like you have a pretty large unimog so I’m guessing you need that type of weight. That’s awesome, really cool build!
The 3 inch road shock cubes use the same housing as quadratech cubes. So there colored lens covers fit the harbor freight lights.
Damn that’s big news! Thanks for sharing. Hopefully this comments is seen by someone looking for that info.
You can easily cut the truck rack to the height of your truck , just drill new holes for the bolts
Fire sure, someone mentioned here that they actually did that.
I run the Road shock ditch light and I recommend them as they put out a lot of light.
Yoo I really thought you were gonna break that window 😂😂👏
Yeah haha. I can’t afford to break stuff for views yet. Maybe one day lol.
Great advice! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the insight!
Harbor Freight has very nice tarps in a variety of sizes and colors and thicknesses.
I have heard a lot of good things about HF winches in general!!
Might be going with them on the next build. They are about the same as my smittybilt winch I have now.
I have a Hi-Lift jack and use it for all kinds of things but to jack up my rig. I use the small aluminum HF floor jack and some 2x6s and I'm on 40s
@@OXFOOT they work great for breaking down tires off the wheels
I bought some recovery dampers for my Bubba Rope recovery rope at HF for $20ea! Just one damper anywhere else is twice the amount
Yeah that band lands winch damper is a hell of a deal. I looked into getting one to try out for the video but I have one already that works just fine.
The Quantum lights are nice to have around. Cheap but they work, probably have 5 floating around the garage and vehicles
That’s good to hear. I’ve got a couple of cheap LED lights around as well. They don’t usually break the paint on them just fades or they crack or something.
Fantastic video for the overlander/camer just starting out on a budget!!!
For sure. Kinda where I started when I first got out of the backpacking and into the overland world.
My entire emergency truck tool kit is Pittsburg from HF. Lol. Might only last a couple uses but as long as they get me out of a pinch.
Yeah I love the ones from them that still works. There’s been a few that haven’t but they have a good return policy. My go to angle grinder is my Pittsburg one.
I find I want to see the side of the road more when driving. Deer are there but you don't see them until you passed them.
For this very reason ive been considering setting my ditch lights to be able to be triggered independently. Like one switch for the right side and one for the left so I can have the ditch light on the passenger side facing off the road and not hit oncoming traffic.
Great video! Perfect timing as we are starting to do some mods. Look forward to more in the series. Subscribed!
That’s awesome! Thanks. What platform did you go with as far as the truck/SUV?
@@OXFOOT 2006 4Runner SR5. Definitely a work in progress - LOL
To make the truck rack fit better, just cut the vertical posts down a few inches and drill new holes...
