Everything is great about the home and the area but this is the gotcha part. Frontier made a deal with the management to be the sole provider for this mobile home park. Great video. I have a couple of questions. Does Verizon throttle your internet speed? You also mentioned your wifi was great, however, I have 3 kids and we have multiple devices that use wifi. How well does the speed of the internet hold up? Currently I have 3 tvs that we stream everything we watch on, 4 cell phones, 2-3 gaming consoles, 3 computer devices and 2 tablets. Now they don't all get used at once but a good 4 of them do. I guess my question is how many devices can I connect to this home system? Can my computer and on tv be connected directly with an ethernet cable?

It's a great service until I connect to my work VPN. Then it's not. Non-VPN use I routinely get 200 to 300 Mbps download. When connected to VPN, the best I've achieved is 5 Mbps. With my 500 Mbps WOW plan, it only drops to 200 Mbps connected to VPN. So a 60x drop in download speed is not acceptable. I've tried contacting Verizon's tech support, and they're impossible to reach. Glad I'm still in the 30-day trial. I am curious if anyone else has similar issues with a VPN connection?

You said 300 MBPS, but you need to back up your talks by performing more scientific test to hold the accountability. Speed test apps are deceptive & most users indeed fall for the deceptive numbers. You pay for 300 Mbps of download speed, you get 220 Mbps, and you are a satisfied customer. I would have dumped the Verizon service before the first month was up. I pay my cable company far too much money (in my opinion) for 300 Mbps of download speed, but I actually get over 330 Mbps. My household requires the download speed I pay for, so considering the Verizon option is out of the question (even though I would save about $30/mo.). Thanks again for your review.
How many devices are using the internet?
Hi Jason, I have about 12 internet-connected devices in my home. All working well. - Brian
@@disablemycable Thank you.
Help me where is de password i dont know which one
great video thanks
$50 but with ACP I pay $20 a month. Thank you God!!
Great!!
You’ve said “fifty dollars” a couple of times. I was under the impression it was $25.00 not $50?
Yeah, it's only $25 if you also have one of a few specific Verizon cell phone plans. For everyone else it's $50 with auto-pay. I think it's kind of misleading for sure. - Brian
@@disablemycable thanks!
If you’re paying for 300Mbps and getting 100Mbps that’s not a B+.
Verizon advertises 85 to 300mbps. Typically I see around 200mbps. Yes, it can vary, but even at 100Mbps I don't notice any difference in my browsing or streaming. 100, 200, or 300Mbps are all enough for my usage. Your needs may vary.
Luckily for me my window is facing a 5G tower about 150 feet away. I have the outside 5G antenna
Awesome! How did you connect the outside 5G antenna to your gateway? I've seen a few methods. - Brian
I've been trying to get the new gateway and they use a flat ethernet cable to connect the gateway from what I've seen.
@@disablemycable
Exactly what 10Super said. A flat cable internet cable from the 5G antenna to the router.
I just got 5g home internet plus and I only get 3 to 25 Mbps download speeds. Help!
Hi Jeremy,
Try experimenting with position around your home, espeically near windows and on upper stories (if you have mulitple floors). Use a long extension cable for power. Use the signal strength meter to determine best location. More on that here: www.disablemycable.com/blog/verizon-internet-gateway-5g-signal-strength-meter/ Let me know how it goes!
Best,
Brian
I'm currently at 12 mbps download and 1 mbps upload after 2 months.
Something is very wrong, or there is something blocking your signal. Report to Verizon.
All I need to know will my Peloton work with it
Yes, it should work.
Thank you
@@disablemycable thank you
Weren't they advertising 500 MB
Maybe for a different plan. The plan I have has an advertised top speed of 300Mbps.
Some people have said that putting the unit in Passthrough mode (and using with your own router) helps. Here's how to do that: www.disablemycable.com/blog/wifi-router-verizon-5g-home-internet-gateway/
There's lots more here: www.reddit.com/r/verizonisp/search/?q=vpn&restrict_sr=1
@disablemycable Thanks for the tip. However, I tried the IP passthrough. No change. I'll keep looking for solutions.
Verizon won’t let you know if it’s available until you give them all your personal information so they can get their hooks into you.
Then they gotcha🤨!
It’s to slow
Yes, speed will vary according to location. For some it's great, for others, it's slow. - Brian
$150 in Visa gift cards for switching to AT&T Fiber. I applied the cards to my account.
You said 300 MBPS, but you need to back up your talks by performing more scientific test to hold the accountability. Speed test apps are deceptive & most users indeed fall for the deceptive numbers. Verizon FIOS is the only product which can show some consistency, but Comcast & Spectrum are better over-all. Level 3 DNS revolvers are mediocre for today's standards & that is the backbone of Verizon core infrastructure.
Can you hook a outdoor antenna to it?
Technically, yes, but it would probably void your warranty and any support from Verizon. I'm working on a video of "forbidden" hacks to your Verizon 5G gateway with the info on how to do it for both gateway models. Stay tuned! - Brian
@@disablemycable Thanks and I can't wait!
@@disablemycable Did you have any luck? Also, what's your current opinion of the service?
@@Unknown-hu4gf Stay tuned on a future video on that. For me the service is still working great! I had to reboot only once in the past few months. - Brian
@@disablemycable Look forward to it and Thanks Brian!
