    Excellent reviews, really enjoy the fact that we get to see a review of cars that are coming to the UK in the future (in a different badge)
    Haven't seen anything from you in the last couple of months, hope you will be reviewing more affordable EVs soon.
    Keep up the great reviews

      Thanks EV Guy! More reviews are pending, got some exciting (and odd) cars lined up!

    Love the review! So glad there is an English review! Thank you! Does it support Apple CarPlay?

    The MG ZS EV is now on sale in the UK for £24,000.
    Even iPace owners are impressed as commented on in a recent video.

    As an EV investor on nio and tesla can you do a video on EV demand in china please. What do people think of tesla? Do you see nio cars in the road?

    Do these car suffer from chassis rust issues in China, they are releasing a MG badged version in the UK and there seems to be an issue of rust on the petrol version of this car, this would make a good subject for a video if you could get one on a ramp and film underneath

    • @heinuchung8680
      @heinuchung8680 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes it does / /not best for rusty areas.

    Does anyone know availability in the US? since they were recently approved to sell in the US? Please upload more car reviews. Very much appreaciated.

      Thanks for the feedback! For the US, I imagine it will either be 2019 or 2020 latest - this is when most of the manufacturers are coming to the US.

    Is this retail price to buy the car from the shop or as a Alibaba car dealer?
    If that makes sense.

    @chinadriver are there any autonomous driving features ?

    • @electricelliotrichards
      @electricelliotrichards  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On the model I drove, no. On the latest models and the Marvel X model, they are starting to have some basic automonous driving features, but nothing on the scale of Tesla.

    Wonder how it compares with the Marvel X

    • @electricelliotrichards
      @electricelliotrichards  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I wonder this too - I can't see it being too much different from a driving perspective - hopefully can test one soon!

    • @possumsam2189
      @possumsam2189 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@electricelliotrichards Heard the drive has improved from the ERX5.
      But I am more interested in how the current crop of Chinese PHEV/BEVs compare:
      Wey P8
      Lynk & Co.
      Geely Borui GE
      BYD Qin Pro
      BYD Tang DM Edition
      NiO ES8
      Each generation of Chinese cars is vastly different from the ones that came before that it is impossible to judge the new model from the previous model

    Not a huge fan of electric vehicles, mostly because of the cost and limited range. That being said this could make a great second car for most US households.

  • @paulmoy9736
    @paulmoy9736 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's an MG ZS EV with a different name.

    • @hopskip8
      @hopskip8 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not a MG ZS EV. it looks similar, the MG does have rear centre headrest, the infotainment screen is different, the rear quarter windows are different and the battery range is different.

  • @omardude39
    @omardude39 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    It would drive me absolutely bat-shit crazy to deal with a car that keeps spouting nonsense Mandarin phrases at you like that and plasters the screen with Chinese text. If it comes to the retail market in the EU or UK, they *need* to make it so it doesn't keep pushing Chinese on you. It needs to be as well accustomed to the western market as it is marketed.

    • @electricelliotrichards
      @electricelliotrichards  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that would all be part of the package if shipping overseas. Its mostly the sat-nav system - which you can switch off.

    • @grf15
      @grf15 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For export, I'm confident they'll tackle that problem. My guess is that the verbal instructions were comments on the acceleration and the reality that that might limit your range.

  • @NotSoCrazyNinja
    @NotSoCrazyNinja 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    "It's not terrible..." should be a universal Chinese product slogan.
    The problem with Chinese cars, besides "not being terrible" (but not being that great either) is related to safety/emissions and getting it road legal in the USA (and probably pretty much any modern country that has a lot of road regulations). By the time you jump through all the hoops to get the vehicle legal for the road, the price is no longer reasonable.

      New chinese EV’s will be much better than older design ICE’s including but not limited to safety. It won’t be long before chinese manufacturers will push especially Europe. SIAC, JAG, MG, AIWAYS and some more just starting to do that right now.

    • @grf15
      @grf15 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Obviously, no issue with emissions for an EV. It shouldn't be that difficult to meet safety standards. The cars have lots of air bags (driver, passenger, side) and most cars now have crumple zones.
