      679$ in the US vs 1000€ here in germany, thats just annoying and i don`t like the proprietary pickups so i just stick to schecter and LTD in this price range. cheers 🎸🎸

      I only wish you could switch all of the pick-ups to single coil. Other than that, what's not to love. Regardless, I wouldn't mind owning one.

      Pulled the trigger on a gorgeous vintage burst. This one is a two-piece and the grains match beautifully. After 50 years of playing countless guitars, passing through my hands, the special 22 Limited edition is the best guitar on the planet. Because the Special 22 is so pricey I ordered one of these for playing out. I fully expect that it will deliver everything I need at a fraction of the cost.

    Push/Pull Up:
    1. Bridge HB + Middle / 2. Bridge HB + Middle + Neck Split / 3. Neck Split + Middle

    Why the frakk, they didn´t put a standard 5-blade superswitch on it and didn´t go with the classic H-S-H pickup combinations like you have on, let´s say an Ibanez RG or similar type guitars?
    I mean, what´s the point of having a single coil in the middle position, when you can´t select it on it´s own, that´s stupid.

    the best itteration of the SAS was the one that had Narrow field pickups, since we probably wont see a re issue of the NF3 i would love to see a SE SAS type D version (the type D pickups used in the vela and s2 studio)
    for some reason the pickup rings on this seem very pointy for me, 100% would need those changed out or rounded off. cant wait to get one of these though

    mine arrived today. It looks like a one piece body because they so beautifully matched two pieces. It is gorgeous. If you look long enough, you will find two piece bodies out there like mine. Beyond its beauty is the incredible tone. It is a blues monster. The single coil tones are so glassy. It gives me shivers. It will replace my fender, USA professional ii strat as my favorite single coil guitar. My only beef is that the fingerboard edges are not rolled. That really does make a big difference, but I will probably sand it down myself. The quality of the build is ridiculous, just perfect. I can’t say enough nice things about this guitar except buy one while they’re 20% off because the price of these things is going to go through the roof.

    Yeah, that's a really nice guitar. top on my list right now. There has to be a simple wiring mod to get the middle by itself. Thats the only flaw is that they didn't add a 5 way switch. I'd swap the pickups and tuners though. I'll also change the bridge with a MannMade. Then will be an amazing guitar.

  • @mikebri5274
    @mikebri5274 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    As the owner of 2 PRS SE guitars, I would love to add this one as well. If I were to own one, I would replace the three-way switch with a "Free-Way" Switch (I like to use the middle pickup by itself), and replace the pickups with Seymour Duncan pickups.

      Don’t buy one to play great for the wall the look fantastic but you will have to set up the trem as that was way out replace with a with a tusq nut gohta machine head tuners or core mk3 model PRS tuners and then this cheap design method of bolt on kneck will still let you down going out of tune usually going high so be prepared to spend more money on it initially on top of your $400 it’s like a pretty girl that just misbehaves all the time

    I feel exactly the same as you about the looks of that guitar. It’s gorgeous. Plus the maple fingerboard is an absolute I picture also think that helps to give it its snap. I myself would rewire that so I could utilize that single coil as a single coil. As an owner of a SE and one that holds its own with my Les Paul and my fender Strats, I could see myself looking for one of those. Nice job, Darrel

    • @fredjaeger690
      @fredjaeger690 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      and I would say that you want to rewire it for single coil because in your mind, that’s necessary to get certain tones. Believe me when I tell you the single coil tones on this guitar are insane. You don’t need to change a single thing to get glassy, single coil, quack that would send the most outstanding Stratocaster running with his tail between his legs. This guitar is single coil, heaven.

    PRS guitars in my humble opinion suck so bad that I have stopped taking them in for setups and repairs at my shop. They are just cheap as they come. Finish, hardware, electronics, bridges, tuners, truss rod adjustments and truss rod covers. I hope I never see another one ever again. And don't go there because I have seen all models and all SUCK!!!!!!!!!! Sorry!

  • @BuffNephew

    I bought a brand new Fender Player Strat, Limited Edition British Racing Green. Had it for 3 months - just exchanged it for this exact guitar. I have to wait a week to get it but gawt dang do I wish I saw this prior to buying that Strat. First time ever buying a brand new guitar for myself (I always buy used) and first time buying a Fender and I will never buy a Fender again. The neck pickup stopped working entirely, the lacquer on the frets started chipping away, the bridge humbucker would drop into the body after a couple days of playing,. if I didn't keep an eye on it and re-adjust, the area around the truss rod adjustment nut was scathed which I didn't notice at the store, the humbucker was also as badly tarnished as my 20 year old epiphone after only a month and the fret work was god awful.

    I don't think that there is anybody who has as unsophiscated an ear as me. I'm an old man and have been playing a very long time. I have yet to encounter an electric guitar that, when played without effects, sounds dramatically different from any other electric guitar. I'm sure there must be all kinds of differences, but I always miss them. When I buy an electric guitar, the first thing I look for is esthetics. How does it look? Once I fall in love with the look of a guitar it seems to sound great to me.

    That color's actually called "Iris Blue" which is weird, like the pup switch. What's the middle on the blade do? Gives you the middle pup with? R/B? Or both? You didn't say @DarrellBraunGuitar can you tell us? I looked it up & can't figure how it's configured. I might just add a 5 way or a mini toggle if I do get one. On sale in the USA 20% off list which is a nice price. Love the maple FB & as always great playing DBG! Thanks for this review

    So what is this? It's a Cort Superstrat with PRS on the headstock and a bit of a price markup. No problem here with that concept, there is a market for it and PRS realizes that and has responded. Beautiful guitar, sounds great. Still a bit pricey for me but I'm poor. I think they'll sell a ton of these to folks who want a very good mid-price guitar.

    Why doesn’t anybody ever speak to the amp and any effects used during tone examples of guitars? Isn’t that one of the most important and impactful parts of the equation?
    If you’re doing a review of the sound then let us know exactly what the test parameters are. Am I wrong?

    When the SE version of the Studio hits /w minibuckers, the checkbook will open without delay. That being said, the Swampash Special is getting darn close.

    Your explanation/demo in no way makes it clear when the middle pickup gets engaged; switch in middle no longer gives you neck/bridge?

    Hi, your vids are great. Would you choose Shijie or Sire? Also, a nano issue; At the start of your videos could you consider saying guys & girls? I’m crestfallen that guitar culture is still so stone-headed that it’s necessary, but that seems to be the case. Thx mj

    I'm considering this PRS SE model or Se McCarty 594

    Great review and playing my friend. I just got the PRS SE Paul's guitar and had Sweetwater satinize the neck and do a few other mods. It plays and sounds awesome. Looking to get the singlecut McCarty 594 SE in the new charcoal finish after the first of the year. Probably going to have Sweetwater satinize the entire guitar. I'm not much for poly gloss. All that nonsense to say, I really love PRS and the swamp ash will probably be my final PRS... And yes it'll be satin 🤪
