    Spending time with your son is way more valuable than catching a fish, but some fish would have been nice for the two of you. I like the dual use of the buddy heater...that's smart as hell. Well done...very well done. We appreciate the effort you put into the video though.

    No ice fishing in Florida. I need to go visit my son up in Golden Valley when you guys have a major snow one winter and go Ice fishing. Have to let Jos know that is on my bucket list. If the ice is 35" thick, will it break up like it does here on the New River with popping & cracking, with floating chunks down to the low water bridge, back up, pushing chunks out onto the banks? Or, would your ice kind of gradually melt in place over a period of time? Lakes don't flow like rivers, right? I don't mean to sound stupid, I'm on O2. I'm glad you got to try out your grate on your heater. Worked pretty good. My toaster oven grate is a smidgen to wide. Sorry you & Zachary didn't catch any fish. Spending time together priceless.

    • @JoeandZachSurvival
      @JoeandZachSurvival  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      On the lakes (most lakes) it will just gradually start melting starting at the shore and moving towards the center. Occasionally on the real big lakes like Mille Lacs and Superior (lakes that you can not see all the way across to the other side because they are so big) the ice can start to melt and then it gets real windy and the wind will drive the ice up on shore. A few years back they had it so bad it went up to some of the cabins and broke the sliding glass doors. Usually though it just slowly melts.
