What happened to 3 and 4 in Chuukese? I can still kind of see how tellu became siluh, but unungat is some innovation.

I found somewhere that the root of "unungat" is wunu- which came from *telu.

Ive also wondered about that. Because on the islands outside Chuuk lagoon, we say “elu”.

As a Chuukese if a chuukese was to relocate to pohnpei in just less than 5 months he/she will be speaking pohnpeian.

Same goes for both sides, I think Pohnpeians and Chuukese have the most similar alphabets/sounds in their language that’s why they can learn each others easily. I’m Pohnpeian but the most easiest dialect I can decipher from Chuuk is the Mortlockese dialect since it’s more similar to PNI
