It really seems like the UK army is really good at being inclusive. So good on both those in positions of power, and on these women for giving diversity a face / faces. And this of course also goes for Ayla, who was featured in another My Genderation short.
Kudos to the British Army for their open and inclusive policies. We have similar here in Canada too for our Armed Forces. And the videoproduction is as always ... brilliant! Fox and Lewis never disappoint.
As an Ex Squaddie,, Who could not Transition within the Army,, as Well as being unwelcome in the Army Cadet Force post Transition These Story's Warm my Heart,, I Loved the Military,,, BUT The Ability to Transition And Remain IN_POST,,, Well Done Girls xxx
Oh I feel your pain regarding the Army Cadet Force, they are so far behind the times it is horrifying! It's like working in an environment from the sexiest and racist age of the 50s 60s and 70s in all honesty. It is only just starting to realise how far behind it is and there are lots of pockets of hayday behaviour still about. There should really be NO reason why you cannot join especially if your transition is complete, but then there are companies and counties that won't work well with women, disabilities, etc. It saddens me as other cadet counties are fine with it all.
NoahTheTransDude yes, I would however recommend top surgery before you join, if you bind, as binding in training (even just cadet basic training) is very painful and inhibits performance massively
My uncle was conned into transferring some money by someone who used a picture of Captain Hannah on Facebook. I'm from Indonesia, there are a lot of scams in Indonesia using photos of British soldiers. Please tell Captain Hannah to sue him for defamation and for stealing his photos without permission to deceive people.
Nice that our Military has changes so much since I served when being trans was seen as being gay and being gay was an offence which would have you doing time and then dishonourable discharge with a criminal record. I think it is important to recognise how far the UK's armed forces has progressed in such a short time but also recognise that they still have a way to go, have you seen any recruiting media with trans people in it? I was still serving when the law changed allowing LGB people to serve but I don't remember any announcement about being trans people being aloud to serve so I spent 6 years after 2000 still in hiding. I have only recently seen things like this promoting trans people in our armed forces and I hope we see a lot more. I have met a fair few trans women since I came out after I left the forces and I would say over 50% of those are ex military, there were a lot of trans people defending our freedoms and there probably still are a lot more than we know of today, as to many of us are still in hiding due to societies negative attitudes. Well done Lewis and Fox keep up the good work you are helping to change those negative attitudes to positive ones. :)
I have found with my job as a make up artist, that a large portion of the trans women I meet are mostly ex-armed serviced of one type or another. And in conversation, some ladies have told me that serving was a way of hiding like you say, but by being the total opposite of what they wanted for themselves. Like you I am really pleased by the military support in the UK and can see why now especially it could well be a leader on the subject, as in the most part roles are genderless.
Wow you two are honestly so inspirational ❤️I have a question because I have always wanted to join the Army but I have recently come out as trans but would this hinder my possibilities of being enrolled to join the army as I have not had any hormone replacement or gender reassignment surgeries. If anyone could help me as I do not know weather this would hinder me getting in to the army or not.
I would like to ask you a question that you may not or can’t answer. I am reading on line that statement that besmirch Transgender folks are being treated as a hate crime. Can you point me to the legal reference for that. Thank you in advance.
Nice to see trans shown in a positive manner

Hey. So I'm 16 and thinking of joining the army. Are you still allowed hormones in the army ?
NoahTheTransDude yes, I would however recommend top surgery before you join, if you bind, as binding in training (even just cadet basic training) is very painful and inhibits performance massively
Eli Thomas thanks :)
Did you end up joining the army?
I just watched a video of a transman who was kicked out of the American military for being transgender good to see the brits don't do the same

Everyone check out this latest Patchwork film from me and Fox! Focusing on two awesome transgender girls in the military :D
In facebook the are someone that is posing as Hana under the name of ( Elen Grace Williams ) and trying to scam people. I have the screenshots.
True to me, there are many profiles with the name of Hellen Williams
They should put a bit of work into the ACF and CCFs policies on trans cadets, speaking as one myself
I like your job beautiful

Beautiful beautiful. Wow, how great is the British army .
why we have the best military :)
Really i like yoi
Absolutely disgraceful..
So you’ve gone out of your way to find a video like this. Just to type that.
@@TweetyStickFigure please can you elaborate?
@@garydonoghue4565 it shouldn’t matter if she’s a trans woman serving. If the army see her fit enough to stay then their should be no issue.
@@TweetyStickFigure I still don’t understand the going out of my way comment ..
