On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you prefer more up close and personal dogfights consider the IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battle series and experience intense WWII aerial combat over famous battlefields such as Stalingrad, Moscow, Rhineland and Normandy. Fight in and against Russian, American, German, British warbirds such as the P-51 Mustang, P-47 Thunderbolt, Bf-109, FW-190, Spitfire, Hurricane and rugged IL-2 Sturmovik attack plane. You can also fly legendary SPADS, Fokkers and Camels in WWI dogfights over the trenches of WWI and discover your inner Red Baron! And all of this can be experienced in jaw dropping virtual reality!
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. Doesn't the Eurofighter have it also? It has a thrust-to-weight ratio very similar to the F-22 (F-22: 1.25; EF: 1.22) and a better wing loading than the F-22 (F-22: 377 kg/m²; EF: 311 kg/m²), so shouldn't it also perform extremely well in dogfighting?
@@antred11 f22 has thrust vectoring and huge tails. It allows it to do some funky things
@@antred11 It is considered a Gen 4.5 aircraft, because of the fixed nozzles for one, lack of a blended fuselage, etc. It basically a supermaneuvrability Tornado, like they did with the F-15 STOl/MTD

@@kalinkozladerov9328 I don't know how to explain this to you. But that is literally every simulator ever. A simulator is just made to immerse you in the feeling of doing said thing in the most realistic fashion without actually doing it. But of course nothing is as realistic as doing it, the reason it feels easy is cause there is no actual risk to using a simulator opposed to actually doing it. But just because something conveys something to be easy does not mean it has nothing to do with reality, in fact i would argue that DCS is one of the most realistic modern combat simulator available to the public. And simulators are used in military environments as well, to train pilots to fly certain aircraft. They are not just thrown into an aircraft and told to fly it takes months even years to get with even 1 kind of aircraft. Pilots probably spend more time in simulators now then they will ever spend in their plane.
Around 6:30 - Whenever GS starts saying "I can't get a lock, I know he's out there somewhere" when fighting an F-22, I always start looking in his mirrors.

A 4/ 4.5 gen against a 22 and it still is competitive.. what a fabulous aircraft the Typhoon is and it's getting better and better
The Spanish have developed thrust vectoring nozzles but no customer wants them because it's not going to improve the planes performance in how it's used in real world. It was developed as a high speed interceptor with long range missile usage. The passive array radar is its next big upgrade that will make it more lethal. It's a shame because this type of old fashioned dog fighting is really exciting to watch.

This is what I’ve been silently praying for for a long time. Thank you thank you thank you for showing LS’ perspective. It’s really amazing to be able to see how hard it is to kill modern fighters even for S-Tier modern fighters.
I get so invested in GS, when he is fighting an opponent, when he is describing “losing cues”or “this is looking good”, etc… then, he shows his opponents perspective as he gets shot out of the sky. GS is not only a good DCS player, but an excellent presenter of the stress of these 1v1one battles.
I am really enjoying watching LongShot making you really earn any wins in the dogfights you have been doing. There is something beautiful about watching two really good players absolutely going at it hard in an aerial dogfight, and being very well matched. After having seen you win dogfights so often, when LongShot takes the win, after having been Wile E Coyote to your Road Runner or Ralph the Sheepdog for so long, it feels like Karma coming full circle! 😀With that being said - I learn a lot by listening to your detailed commentary, and I really enjoy the competition and camaraderie you two have. Given that the Typhoon is a multi role aircraft, it is impressive that it can compete with Raptors and Frelons who are dedicated air combat planes. I realise the software can switch modes, but you have an airframe designed to carry ordinance and EW/ER/PR pods as well as air to air missiles.

The Eurofighter was designed as an air superiority platform, it's only developed the air to ground capability after the fact. It was designed to be a good dogfighter (unlike the F3!)
@@moochoman9948 This. The Eurofighter was designed solely as an air to air platform. It's ground attack came later. Only modern tranches have really great air to ground capability. Also keep in mind the eurofighter was the last 4th gen fighter designed and is on the very limit of fourth gen.
