It’s just so crippling. I’m trying to wrap my mind around what I have lost because of the last 48 years not realising I had adhd and this rsd. The pain is real, it’s very much a physical thing, and it bears down on you so hard.
Oh my goodness I totally feel your pain , I’ve found your video after 2 things happened today , things that others wouldn’t even probably bother with and I’ve had to come home and yes I’ll probably just go to my bed to get it to go away , it’s so sad and painful and literally no one understands and you may try and explain and yet they do it again and I’m back to square one !!! Thank you for these points x
you do a great job of recognizing your feelings and emotions. your method of investigating your inner world is serving you well. calling on a friend, resting and going for a walk are smart moves. thanks for listing your stress responses. my tushy has tingled from nervousness and over-stimulation ever since early childhood.
I'm glad my videos found you! It really does suck. I always want to strike a balance my being supportive and constructive as well as giving some reality to the situation. It's not easy at all. But I hope this has helped in even some small way. All the best
You describe it so well. I will take your way of dealing with it as a guidance. It really can turn my world upside down especially when I am already in stress, or if I have pmdd.
I hear you, thank you so much for sharing. Sorry I didn't reply sooner - still getting the hang of being a creator on TH-cam. Sending you lots of positive regard :)
I relate to this too, and I tend to instinctively deal with it in a similar way to you. It wasn’t always possible though, when I was younger. Just yesterday I felt one of these reactions coming on and I saw that what people say can really mess with my brain. I’ve had my hair cut short and I really like it, it’s just how I wanted it, the hairdressers liked it on me and everything was good. When my (adult also Autistic) son came in and saw it he said, “Whoa, not sure about that, it’s going to take a bit of getting used to!” and my stomach dropped and my brain went a bit swirly and I had to fight with myself to keep myself on the track I was previously on. It’s so annoying that if I really like something and someone else says they don’t it can make me question myself and then it can get very confusing to my brain and I end up with loads of extra stuff to deal with which should really be irrelevant if it is about my own personal taste in something which has no bearing on anyone else’s wellbeing.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I hear you. I let this happen to me. I did actually quit my job because I was convinced I was going to be fired for a mistake I made before going on vacation. My boss sent me an angry text which I ignored because I had a nervous breakdown/major anxiety attack and I let the anxiety get the best of me. My boss has also been bullying me for the last 6 months for some reason- maybe because I’m neurodivergent and super sensitive and very different than most of my coworkers? What you are describing also sounds very much like imposter syndrome where you feel like you are in the wrong? Can anyone else relate? Still trying to figure out how not to let this happen to me. I don’t regret quitting this job, but I don’t want to make it a habit. Thank you for your video. ❤😊❤😊
I believe I might have rsd (potentionally connected with adhd but not tested yet so I am not sure about it) because I relate to every single thing you say. And I recently quit from a job because of those feelings. And I have always been seen as dramatic and overly sensitive but I just feel it so much I cant help it
With are rsd it's best to remember that people are too interested in themselves. If people are being disrespectful they are not thinking about peoples feelings. We notice their tone of voice and facial expressions like they are being insincere. A lot of people are less friendly and have less time for people. Or they are too busy thinking about themselves and might not even think they are being disrespectful. People like feeling superior if people are laughing or criticizing people it's just to act better about themselves. A lot of people like acting holier than thou it's one rule for them and another one for everyone else. If people are being empathetic they are seeing other people's feelings. And think emotionally. A lot of people think logically and matter of fact. Like that's not my fault. Don't be so too sensitive. They see the world through their eyes. A lot of people are init for themselves they like to gain and win. They don't like to loose out. If people are ask them to do something. They will probably say no I'm too busy. But if someone say I will pay you they will probably say yes. People don't like to loose out and be made a fool out of. A lot of people won't talk to people if they don't want to talk to them. And might ignore people Or they might say excuse me and try and get rid of them . What people say and do is all about them. I still have rsd but I'm less sensitive because I can rationalize my emotions and understand that people are too busy thinking about themselves.

Makes me feel like a teenager at times, but coming home and going to bed is sometimes the perfect thing for me to do for myself

Your videos started to get in my recommended and I’m glad. Thank you for the video. RSD sucks and is hard to explain how impactful it is to us.

Found myself nodding along with your video.
Thanks for this.

Very helpful. I can really relate to the emotions that you have in this type of situations.
