    Transiting with Etihad will be totally different now as the new building, Terminal A is now open & operational for all Etihad flights as of yesterday 14th November.

      Good to hear I'm flying to Japan with Etihad this May so I'm just watching a bunch of videos on the airline rn

    I'm leaving for Thailand in less than 2 weeks. just looking at you going through departure to go home makes me feel sad and depressed. a dreaded feeling for sure.

      Someone who hasn't been to Thailand wouldn't understand your comment. But anyone who has knows what you are talking about. My depression starts the morning of my departure date. Incredible how that country can get into your head.

      @@weekendmillionare …Yes. It’s very scary at times and I been going for almost 20 years. It’s not as bad when I first started going.

    I just got home today,18 days in Pattaya,I need a holiday.

    The flight home is always depressing. I just came back with Qatar from BKK to Dublin, Qatar are ok but the entertainment was awful, Emirates are kings

    • @bkk1126
      @bkk1126  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      On this flight the entertainment was really good. I think Etihad have recently updated all their planes with new screens. Best I've ever experienced on a long haul flight and better than Emirates for entertainment.
      However the Emirates overall experience is better. Thanks for watching :)

    Great video. Thanks for sharing. I came back to Manchester from Thailand, a couple of weeks ago, via the 12 hour flight to Munich. I wouldn't do that route again. I prefer the two 8 hour flights so I can stretch my legs and get some fresh air. for me 12 hours in one seat is too long.

    • @bkk1126
      @bkk1126  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I nearly flew with Lufthansa as they were cheap but paid slightly more for this Etihad flight. It's not good being bundled onto a small plane for the last leg of the journey :)

    This rather shocked me back in the day Abu dhabi was a very cheap duty free and had cheap priced bars, that was the old airport with the dome, enjoyed this vlog thanks for sharing.

    thanks for sharing. 3-4-3 economy seats on Boeing 777 are too tight. TG/EVA and other Asian airlines just put 3-3-3 with good seat pitch. Now, I know which one to avoid.

    • @bkk1126
      @bkk1126  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I didn’t notice any lack of room on either leg. But I do fly short haul a lot in cramped seating…

    Etihad and Emirate are among the world’s best, the only drawback is that they force you to layover in Dubai or Abu Dhabi so you will spend more money.😊

    I've flown to Thailand 5 times before from the US. Each time I took the Persian Gulf route. Twice with Qatar Airways through Doha and three times with Emirates through Dubai. I've never flown with Eithad before.

  • @Bierchen38
    @Bierchen38 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The last 3 times I went to Thailand with Kuwait Airways via Kuwait city (starting in Frankfurt). Cheap flights and short layover.....I can recommend....but no alc on plane if that's an issue for someone....😂

    I prefer to fly Gulf Air as Bahrain was an easier transit. Still chaotic, but a smaller airport.
    This was before the new terminal opened at AUH though.

    I flew with Etihad in March 2022... Never again. Just felt so cheap and Abu Dhabi Airport is shite. I also flew with Qatar in August just gone, the airport was decent but less said about the flights the better. Middle East Airlines have a lot to work on, they feel cheap AF, especially when compared to my experience with Singapore Airlines in April,when even economy is comfortable, relaxing and felt premium.

    • @bkk1126
      @bkk1126  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Not a fan of that airport, think I must have transited through an old terminal, as the toilets near the gates were the squat over the hole type.

    That abu Dhabi terminal is awful, way too many people crammed in, people sleeping upstairs in the food area's, staff not moving them so you can eat, ignorant people putting all their bags on seats so no one can sit down, id avoid this place.

    I've never flown Etihad (only Emirates and Qatar) as it doesn't operate from Poland for some reason... But it doesn't look too impressive, to be honest... especially the Abu Dhabi airport... I was one in that city itself and it also felt a bit outdated and unimpressive (except the Grand Mosque and a few other places) compared to Dubai... Still, I wouldn't mind flying with them somewhere, SE Asia especially... ;) and btw. cool review! :)

    • @bkk1126
      @bkk1126  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I normally fly Emirates or Qatar but it was £200 cheaper on these dates with Etihad so I took a chance on them again. The entertainment was excellent (I think they just upgraded the system). Food was average but nothing to complain about in the grand scheme of things.
      Someone commented that Abu Dhabi airport has been improved now which is a very good thing!
      Thanks for watching :)

    I was transit Abu Dhabi last month. If you was upset with the smoke coming from smoking area you must have some psychotic problems 😅.
    Otherwise, you are right, very uncomfortable, very expensive, unless the cigarettes 😊.
