Great vid, and you ended with a view of the Sukhumvit Suites Hotel (to the right and above the UOB sign at Asok) where i always spend my first 2-3 days in Thailand. Pro Tip: If you need to exchange cash for Thai Baht before you "leave" the airport, go down to the Airport Rail Link area and use the exchange booths there. That is considered to be on city property, not airport, and you will get better rates compared to the airport kiosks. I've seen differences of 5 Baht per US dollar, so if I'm exchanging $1000, that is a difference of 5000 Baht, or a pretty good evening in Bangkok.

Since they closed that area that's become a land back it sucked the vibe out of the place, when it was an endless run of illuminated outdoor bars it felt like a genuine party street (to the point it would have been beneficial to turn it into a walking street). Looks like the food offering have improved along the street especially towards the top end near Hillary 11, although looks like the large clubs at that end of the street have closed. A bit disappointed you didn't pop around the corner at villa market to the 'secret' cuban bars, but I suppose without going in there isn't anything to show but a quiet/graffiti filled alley. Are the clubs around Soi 11/4 any good, or has the good stuff pretty much migrated to Thong Lor/Ekkami?

I get the train to Makasan from the airport then order a grab from there. Works out much cheaper than grab from the airport.

Don't do what I done a few week ago, I bought £700 worth of THB at the currency exchange at the corner, if I had walked round the corner I could have got an extra £60!! I exchanged for 40thb but the booth close buy was 43.0 DOH!! great guide!

You missed the cheap beer place on the ground floor outside near the smoking area aka Magic.

The other taxi option is to go to Departures and jump in one that's just dropped off their customer. I do this at both Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang - never been refused and you avoid the surcharge of the official taxi rank.

Train to makasan, then on to Sukumvit with the MRT,as you showed .

I normally go to phaya thai and catch bts, to Nana, will try makkasan to sukumvit, next time, great music btw😀

Thanks for the video mate. just a note, Suvarnabhumi is smoke free and no longer any areas to smoke airside. But According to some travelers noted in the last month: 1. There is a smoking room in the new satellite terminal by gate S122 2. Balcony through Miracle Lounge - Concourse D.
