Hoy os traigo el segundo tema de Okina Matara como jefa extra de Touhou 16 Hidden Star in Four Seasons.
La verdad es que tema acabó gustandome mucho más de lo que pensaba. La melodia del piano en este tema es simplemente sublime, adoro esa parte del tema. El uso de la guitarra eléctrica en este tema, es bastante diferente a como la suele usar ZUN en sus temas, y la verdad es que queda bastante bien, demasiado diría yo.

Today i bring you Okina Matara's second theme as extra boss from Touhou 16 Hidden Star in Four Seasons.
I really love this theme. It's much more energic than her theme as finall boss. I really love the piano melody, since i listened to it, i can't stop playing it in my piano, and i love too the use of the guitar in this theme.

People were disappointed? This is wonderful song and it's really catchy, which has especially been a thing when it came to extra stage boss themes ever since Touhou 13.
Beth Masey I know it is. But I've heard other people saying that they are disappointed in the music in this game (When tbh all the character themes are really good)

Alright, I was waiting with commenting, but I guess this is better time than ever to say this.
Even if you don't like this OST as the other ones, you've come a long way, because these were some of the best if not your best MIDIs so far. Very well done and please keep improving!

Touhou music is unique: it’s not composed in either a typical western or eastern way(idk the terms, just the feelings) , so it sounded like neither of them. It also didn’t sound like the traditional music of any place in the world that I know of.
A friend of mine, who also knows Touhou music, said that they all have rapidly jumping keys, this kinda holds true from most of the ones I heard so far, which is like every two out of three in the main game series(except LoLK stage 6 theme, “the sea that reflects ones home planet”, it still has the touhou feel but not that distinct) Maybe Touhou music can be classified as an completely individual category!

To be honest, if this theme was Stage 6 boss theme and Cancealed Four Seasons was Extra Boss theme, i think it would be a little more fitting.
That part is epic but... almost all the Extra Boss themes were menacing or eerie in some way... yet this one is mostly dramatic until the climax.
Anyway this got to be my favorite Extra Boss theme due to that part, so i'm not sad about that.

from the story, in stage 6, the final boss is a `faker`, while in ex stage it's the true boss. So the theme is more intense in ex, I think. ORZ

Reasonable, in stage 6 spellcard 2 to 6 and non-spellcard 2 to 6 are related to seasons, from summer to spring. And in ex stage, the release is `土用`, which means the time when the power of season is the lowest.
Satori Komeiji In Stage 6 she fights you with the power of the seasons, ultimately taking your season equipment and sending you back. In the Ex stage you collect the border between seasons, which makes her unable to send you back and decides to fight you with her true powers as a sage.

Satori Komeiji The EX theme has melancholy in it while S6 has some mysterious and optimistic feeling.
The fact the S6 isn't the true final boss reminds me Eirin as well.

Hace tiempo que no me gustaba tanto un Extra theme. Increíble, inmediatamente ocupó mis primeros lugares! Este Touhou tiene muy buen OST, habrá que esperar que la gente se acostumbre un poco a las melodías para que deje de quejarse como hacen desde el TH12.

I still prefer Okina's stage 6 theme, but this one has grown on me after listening to it a couple dozen times.
I'm also going to have to agree with the person who said that you made the climax here more "climactic". :P
No he tenido oportunidad de tocar Hidden star in four seasons pero por lo que miro al menos en el OST la calidad es la de siempre.

You've done a decent job, which definitely deserves a like, but I can't help saying that some parts sound just... Off. Like the beginning, for example. It's nothing like the original and sounds weird. But other than that, I appreciate your hard work at the most favorite HSiFS theme of mine!
i don't even know anymore Yep. The beginning is kinda strange, there's a problem with the pitch.. But the rest is very well done imo, which parts are you talking about?
Yeah. Mainly, it was the piano part of the beginning that sound weird. It's way too empty. In the original it has some sort echoing or sound bouncing back(dunno the actual term for it, not a music expert). That aside, I think williatico nailed the electric guitar(is it?) part pretty good.

Aunque hubiera preferido mil veces un nuevo personaje, el argumento para este extra, su cohesión con las propias mecánicas del juego, la música y la originalidad de los patrones (tener que disparar por detrás), hasta me dan ganas de perdonarle.
Perdonarle? Menos mal no fue solo un nuevo personaje con patrones lazy. Menos mal no repitio patrones del final boss, le hizo un nuevo portrait al personaje y un tema totalmente nuevo, en vez de arrangear el que ya tenia. Menos mal no fue otra Yukari. Agradezco que haya hecho algo fuera de la receta usual y que quedara tan bien

Sí, perdonarle.
Rompió con la tradición de crear un boss nuevo para el extra, reciclando el mismo personaje del final stage (para muchos esto fue una total decepción a primera vista).
No me tomes a mal, al final terminó encantándome, y no juzgaré a ZUN por sus decisiones, porque:
1.- Es su juego y hace lo que quiere con él.
2.- Como dije, todos los elementos de este extra son sobresalientes, exceptuando la dificultad.
Fácilmente mi extra favorito, aún habiéndome decepcionado al principio.
Tranquilo, acepto la opinion ya que se que muchos son fans de Touhou por sus personajes; a mi me gustan los personajes de Touhou pero realmente lo que todavia me mantiene como fan es la música y ver qué carajos de va a inventar Zun después, así que eso de cambiar la receta de la nada (y habiendo dicho que iba a ser un Touhou sin ningun twist) me gusto bastante en mi opinion. Pero realmente no me sorprenderia si hubiese sacado un personaje en el extra y la gente hubiese dicho que es una Nue + Flandre + nosequeotropersonaje, y compararlas con los demas personajes y diciendo que es poco origina, asi que bueh. Pienso que fue lo mejor, sobretodo porque Zun habia mencionado que tuvo un bloqueo artistico en cierto momento. Y ciertamente el extra esta bastante bueno a excepcion de la dificultad (en especial el stage que es bastante facil).
A mi realmente si me gusto mucho esto, hay dos cosas que me atraen de un juego que son la musica y la historia, me encanta la musica de touhou ( mis canciones favoritas son September Pumpkin, Crimson in the Black Sea y Captain Murasa) y tambien la poca historia que tenemos, al principio si me decepecione porque no habia nuevo personaje pero despues de entender porque me gusto mucho, conocimos a un sabio que creo Gensokyo , a dos diosas ( Okina y Eternity Larva) , a unos youkais ocultos , una guardiana del shrine de reimu y a dos bailarinad , como me encanto este juego ( aunque raramente el mejor juego de touhou con historia para mi es ULiL y LoLk)
algo que solo vi malo fue no aprovechar la mecanica de las balas oscuras, solamente en dos ocasiones las uso (en la 3ª spell del stage 6 y en la primera spell en el extra), pero en si tuvo mucho sentido tanto el por que ella de nuevo aparece como el extra y los patrones se me hicieron bastante dinamicos al obligar al jugador moverse por toda la pantalla y aprovechar muy bien la mecanica en el propio extra :D

Personally, I thought the build up to this theme was a bit weak. However, the ending is godly. I have mixed feelings. I think I still prefer the stage 6 theme.

Not sure why, but I would rather dance to this theme than the stage 6 one.
Emphatic or impactful, maybe so, but Okina's 2nd theme is most definitely more energetic.
I imagine this is her true theme.
Unlike her stage 6 theme, which feels like, yes, she's strong and such but... She wasn't really giving it her all and she could easily cause a forfeit from the protagonist.
This one shows that she's actually giving the protagonist a *real* match due to what they did.
Although she could've still forced a forfeit either way, she was impressed, so a real fight it was.
Dunno, this theme feels like her actual theme to me at least.
TheSquirrel Oh so a theme with a high climax isn't that energetic, I get it. Kappa. It is energetic with that climax ! Her Extra theme feels more like a struggle, with some pain enduring nothing very dynamic and positive unlike her S6 theme, and finally some hope rises at the end.
As a stage 6 boss who's not going serious, a theme like History of the Moon should fit. Tense but light hearted.

I'm not an expert in music, but I know what I feel with music.
This theme gives me the will to continue fighting, a little emotional push to dodge with determination, and, for me, that endures for almost the whole theme.
Her S6 theme also is energetic at the end, but throughout the battle I don't feel the same as in this.
Maybe different people feel different things with music?
Where the hell did you get reed romance. God i feel on the touhou music creators have a black market where you just all the sd 90 instruments and all of zun's instruments.
