Hi Bluefish Bill, I like your video. I'd like to suggest another step when changing the oil filter. While it don't happen all the time, the rubber oil seal on the oil filter can break when installing it. The way to solve this is to make sure that the rubber seal on the new oil filter is lubricated so it will slide easily when tightening the filter up against the engine. Happy Fishing!! William
Next time, if you want to use about half your container of oil, weigh the container before pouring any out. You can keep weighing it as necessary until it weighs half of what it did when it was full.
Do you know about how many hours you had on your motor when you changed your filter? I'm close to 20 hours, about to do my first change on my tohatsu 25 on my LT. Nice rig brother!!
I bought it with around 85 hours and drove it to around 100 hours because I think the rule was every hundred hours but sounds like yours is newer so im not exactly sure about the break-in process...but I found the manual on tohatsus website and its full of all that info...helped me a lot to go through it
@@bluefishbill6341 yeah, I went through the manual, doesn't say to swap the filter out. Just says to change the oil, I may do it anyway just for good measure. Really appreciate the video, had been looking for one on a 25 oil change for a while, this is a tremendous help.

thanks, yes I did that but just forgot to film it and mention that lol
Thanks for making this easy to follow along. I'm picking up my LT25 in a couple weeks and this will be very useful!
thanks man, I had a lot of trouble finding a video online so I figured id document my experience doing the oil change
@@bluefishbill6341 hey man, can you send the name of the exact oil filter wrench you got? just tried getting it out by hand... didn't work. lol
Awesome dude! Nice rig.
Awesome thank you. Did you do your lower gear oil change yet ?
Thanks for the info
You need to add the mm socket needed. Also, you need to put oil on your new filter gasket before installing. FYI
thanks yea I did put oil on the gasket but forgot to film it and mention that
After oil change start the motor let it run oil will fill oil filter so oil will be low on dipstick
Good video! Thanks

Typical for outboard motors you should do a full service at 100 hours.
