Ugh, that sound. Those poor cows and the human workers having to hear that all day. Its seems to be the frequency like nails on a chalkboard even turned down. Wonderful job as usual, Nate!
Next time you have a cow with a white line issue due to corkscrew, can you bring out the 3x5in card and hoof block and give that demo of why corkscrew leads to white line issues? That was a hugely informative demonstration and I feel you should include it more whenever corkscrew causes white line issues.
Who here feels like, after watching a hundred of these videos, they'd have about a 50% chance of successfully trimming a hoof? 🐄🐄🐄 Edit: A regular healthy hoof. Not one of these problem children that needs Nate's love. Not saying it would be beautiful but potentially serviceable. LOL
Nate! I always think of you and your lovely ladies when I use my chlorhexidine mouthwash and my salicylic acid facial serum. Turns out we humans use these things too! Have a lovely day.
Looked for you at Washington County WI Breakfast on the Farm, but alas only a Vet was there….. we did have a good talk about hoof trimming thanks to your videos
If digital dermatitis is anything like psoriasis or shingles . . . . . No matter what, I always wince when I see it. Then I remember how much cows weigh and that it isn't as though they can take weight off a whole hoof. I'm glad that you care and that they are feeling better by the time their videos have hit the channel.
Have you ever had to work on a cow with an issue on both claws? Do you fix one and do the other one later? Or go ahead and deal with both and choose one for the block?
My cat jumped on his cat tree right when that fan noise came on. Scared the ever-loving out of me. Thought someone broke in and set off the alarm. Love your videos btw
How important for the cows to have a "foot doctor!" The same applies to humans as all that weight sets on their feet! Thank you Nate for your videos! 🐄🐂 🤷
I'm to the point where if I have to the doctor for anything I'm like, just spray it with some chlorhexidine and put a salicylic wrap on it. Even it's just a cold. I'm pretty sure this works for everything.
nate, the fan is NOT that bad. please don’t be discouraged from keeping yourself and the cows somewhat comfy in the heat because of all these comments. the fan maybe needs servicing, but it doesn’t interfere that much.
Nate, how do you prevent transferring bad bacteria from cow to cow between trims (and to yourself, not taking it home)? Do you clean your gear between cows and have to wash your hands constantly?
I know it wouldn't be the most exciting but I would be curious to see what a trim is like on a healthy hoof that just needs some shaping or leveling to prevent future problems. Just for comparison.
That fan at first sounded like some kind of alarm when hearing it through my earbuds. Nonetheless, those poor cows and humans. Someone give them some WD40!
If it’s been answered somewhere and I haven’t somehow been aware of it, I apologize. I’m curious… I’ve noted that trimmers like Nate and Hoof GP sometimes trim cows while calves can be seen/heard in the background. How early does trimming start for cows? Do you wait for the calves to get to a certain size, start right away, or wait until they reach adulthood?
Just wondered what method you use as several other hoof trimmers I watch follow the Dutch 5 step method and one of those steps is modelling/dishing out at the typical soul ulcer site due to pedal bone sinking from the heifer on her first calving. Oh the joys of pregnancy!! Or just standing on concrete, which can’t be helped as most herds have to come in for the winter. Anyway just wondered what you do to help lameness in these circumstances 😊
@nooneanybodyknows7912 IDK if its done, but wearing a respirator would be a good idea for grinding the hooves. I cab (make domed using a grinding wheel) opals and semiprecious stones like quartz and agate for jewelry setting. I was taught by my mentor to *always* wear a respirator even though the stone and grinding wheel is wet, so you dont get Silicosis (an incurable lung disease caused by breathing silica dust.) I looked and there doesnt seem to be anything specifically about hoof trimmer lung issues, but I did find a bunch of stuff about human mani/pedicurists having lung issues from breathing nail dust.
I've watched The Hoof GP's channel. I've noticed you apply some hoof glue to the edge of the hoof before applying the block. Just wondering if that's only because its how you were taught, or if there is a specific reason. Also, wondering if you've seen/heard of Hoof GP's green hoof glue they made?
I work at a ball bearing company. Happy to help the farmer replace those noisy bearings in that fan !
Engineer here and I freaking love bearings lol idk why but they're my favorite things to replace
Nate: trying to film an educational video
Fan: "Allow me to introduce myself" *IEIEIEIEIEIEIEIEIEIEIEIEIE*
Def song of his people going on in there.
😂😂😂
The fan really made sure to make himself the star of the show
XD
Watching at 4:30am, nearly woke up the entire household! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you for having the real sounds! No theme music or inspirational music or playing it up for the camera. Just a job well done! Thank you!!
Ugh, that sound. Those poor cows and the human workers having to hear that all day. Its seems to be the frequency like nails on a chalkboard even turned down.
Wonderful job as usual, Nate!
It's like a car alarm blaring constantly in the background
I have tinnitus. Couldn't hear it! 😮
Trimming the hoof with the knife always reminds me of peeling potatoes🥔🥔
I’ve wondered if that is a training exercise. Even harder: peel a boiled potato without any falling out. 😂
Me too. And, I often feel a finger is going to go missing. Those knives must be really sharp.
The forbidden potato chips!! 😝
Forbidden parmesan 😂

As annoying as that fan was you did a great job with the audio. It was much more bearable than it could have been, thank you so much.
Somehow, it is therapeutic for me to watch these doctor visits to the cows.
I think it has something to do with Nate's calming voice, very similar to Bob Ross.
Me too
I found it calming too.
I call it cow pedicures
@@ccrider8483 yes, dear Bob the artist.

Not me, I'd hit the corium because I can't judge how deep it is
Sometimes but then I wake up 😂
I’ll keep my day job
I'm sure it's harder than it looks.
I wouldn't want to be a cow under my care...
I loved the way she looked back at Nate as she walked away as if to say, "Thank you, Nate!"
Nate! I always think of you and your lovely ladies when I use my chlorhexidine mouthwash and my salicylic acid facial serum. Turns out we humans use these things too! Have a lovely day.
Lol, that's awesome!!! 😊
lol, i do too. any face wash i buy now has to have salicylic in it
Looked for you at Washington County WI Breakfast on the Farm, but alas only a Vet was there….. we did have a good talk about hoof trimming thanks to your videos
So gentle with them ❤..you really treat them with respect and kindness..they are so lucky to have you as their hoof trimmer!
Amazing how your videos brighten up a gloomy rainy day in the Northwoods. I so look forward to them!
Nice job Nate 👏 now this cow can heal up, grow new hoof horn & be pain free cause u helped her 🐄
Thank you for explaining everything patiently and clear 🙏🏼🙏🏼👌🏼👍🏼
Nate is always good for the soul... of the cows feet 😁
Hehehe!
I'm happy when you put out new videos! I'm sure the cows appreciate your work!
Oh that’s a happy moo moo 🐮🌞 She’s strutting her stuff and showing off her bright orange wrap!
You seem really kind. Like you care about the animals pain! Thank you
u treat us as well as you treat your cows, reminding us we can turn down the volume to avoid slight discomfort of fan noise. u the real mvp XD
I like the sound of the squeaky fan it reminds me of night time tropical cicadas ❤ it’s relaxing to my ears
I love watching/Learning , the relief these ladies must feel after those pedicures :D , Thanks for another fantastic video Nate
U r the best nate😊.u clean the wound real good. And ur hand is so soft while trimming.
You are wonderful at explaining as you work. Your job is amazing-you share you interest.
That was a raw looking lesion. It is so nice how you do not skimp on the salicylic acid.

I like that you’re so kind to the cows. ❤

@emilywagner6354
Hes got a vid about that a couple years back.
Yes, he had. He did a video about it.
I love your explanations! You are a wonderful teacher.
Can't even imagine how annoyed those cows would be with that fan. Please WD40, folks.
I can't hear your squeaking fan over the sound of my squeaking fan.
Love the videos, Nate. Educational and entertaining.
Poor cows probably have to listen to that squeaky fan every day for the whole summer 😢
I feel happy for every cow you work on!
My cat jumped on his cat tree right when that fan noise came on. Scared the ever-loving out of me. Thought someone broke in and set off the alarm. Love your videos btw
Nate could voice voicemail messages for people.
Such a nice precise and caring trim. Great work.
Thank you Nate 💫
Best knife work in the game! Stay at it NATE
I thought the noise was birds. But, on that note, im glad you dont have backgroud music and silly antics on your videos.❤
Fabulous! I love hearing you say salicylic acid wrap. What a weird world we live in :P
HI 👋 NATE.
It's winter down under 🇳🇿 New Zealand.
The fire 🔥 is roaring.
How important for the cows to have a "foot doctor!" The same applies to humans as all that weight sets on their feet! Thank you Nate for your videos! 🐄🐂 🤷
Another happy customer ❤❤
These poor girls. Glad you can ameliorate their circumstances.

Thank you, Nate
This is what the cow said on 7:55
Thank you for the great video 🥰
That cut starting on 5:29 was prime time ✨✨
Thank you.
I feel lik nate is the spiritual successor of the it ain't much but it's honest work guy
I thought to myself, That lesion almost looks like steak! Wait a minute . . . 😂
Great video of hoof trim. but IMO the farmer:::the animals don't hear the noise? They hear it, but can't complain.
Your videos are informative and so calming. I love watching before I fall asleep.
Another outstanding video and I thought at first it was just a loud cricket. 😮
Encore une vidéo très pédagogique et de grande qualité, super Nate.
nate, the fan is NOT that bad. please don’t be discouraged from keeping yourself and the cows somewhat comfy in the heat because of all these comments. the fan maybe needs servicing, but it doesn’t interfere that much.
Took my cordless grinder out to the field with me just in case! 😁
The fan noise until the end !!!! 😂
Great job Nate
Good day to you sir!
That farmer doesn't have some WD40 laying around?
I use that stuff as aftershave! Cmon Jack.
I wouldn't have noticed the squeaky fan so much if you hadn't pointed it out! Ha!
Nate, how do you prevent transferring bad bacteria from cow to cow between trims (and to yourself, not taking it home)? Do you clean your gear between cows and have to wash your hands constantly?
He's said in the past that he cleans his tools between cows
Another claret free trim. Nate is so dependable in removing everything without risking a drop of blood. Sorry other guys, Nate is king!
Keep up the great vids Nate been watching for a while!
Your videos are addictive

I'm so used to cicadas that I didn't even notice the squeaky fan. 😅
Great job!
I love your videos so much.
4:19 lmao, the camera made it look like you were calling the dewclaws the other 2 lesions for funsies
Great job HoofiNater! Hope you do a follow up on this one.

Yay another video! Nate my good friend give me an hour long video and ill be very happy lol
Does the salicylic acid act as a topical painkiller too?
From what I can gather from these videos yes
Yes, Nate mentions that sometimes.
Oil is a friend to the squeak. Lol
Love the content Nate 🥰
Love ur show!

Passiert es eigentlich öfters, dass beide Teile einer Hufe behandelt werden müssen? Neugierige Grüße Grim Reaper
Love your knife work
Their feet’s just look so delicate…😮
Hi Nate..can you show us also how it walks before the treatment? Thanks
Love these…
Nate,id like to see you, your face on the next one, 😊
Honestly, thee fan sounds like a horde of crickets with the volume turned down.
Is there an evolutionary reason why cows still retain their dewclaws, or are they purely vestigial? Do they serve a purpose?
For cattle if they are running on a loose or muddy incline or jumping they do make contact with the ground and provide some traction.
Another happy costumer
I wonder how much salicylic acid powder you use in a year? And, does it carry an inhalation warning? Thanks 😊
@nooneanybodyknows7912

Hey Nate, why dont you use an iodine spray before the salicylic acid?
Headphones on, what’s your playlist like?
Have you ever had to refer the cow to a vet because it was an issue that you couldn’t resolve?
can they ever have problems on 2 claws on the one foot..if so how does that get fixed?
Is this the day for this question or what? Check his archives. He has a vid about that topic and how he handles that situation.
Man, you’re putting chlorhexidine’s kids through school with how much of that stuff you use.
Just curious what you do in a situation where there are issues on both claws on the same hoof? Do you still put a block on?
I've watched The Hoof GP's channel. I've noticed you apply some hoof glue to the edge of the hoof before applying the block. Just wondering if that's only because its how you were taught, or if there is a specific reason. Also, wondering if you've seen/heard of Hoof GP's green hoof glue they made?
the fan sounds more like cicadas than an actual fan
