  • This is a follow up to Monday’s video depicting 199 with the red train, which had been the scenario since that day. It’s also a recreation of two videos I took of 199 and the red train in 2014 and 2018, but unlike those two takes, where 199 was only pulling four cars due to power issues at the time, it has been able to pull five cars since 2019. As such, here’s the Essex Express and the complete red train climbing Turnaround Hill prior to heading back to the zoo. A rather empty train since it was a really cold day, with trains running every half hour, but a nice catch nevertheless. Enjoy!
Oh, and for the whistle, I can officially (and unfortunately) conclude that the restricted whistle of 199 is now quieter than the restricted whistle of 306.

This must've been during their off-season. I could tell because the last three cars were empty.

@@waynemacfarland1546 that is correct. They only opened for less than a month at the time this was taken.

@@davidng2336 I remember going to the Turtle Back Zoo with my grandmother during spring break in April once, and I was very disappointed when I saw a notice at the ticket booth saying that the train wasn't running that day.

@@waynemacfarland1546 it depends on when you go. If it’s in January or February it will be closed. Otherwise it’s most likely due to a maintenance issue or bad weather. Also beware that the last run is at 4:30.
