Astute followers of Peoria Charter may now know the Prevost H3-45 fleet is now re-based to Champaign-Urbana. This video was filmed before the change happened, thus being a rare opportunity back then!
It must’ve been a shock to learn that a few years ago James became a CEO. Now, more recently, he actually BOUGHT the company. Definitely, left many speechless including his followers!!!
0:35-Even if I wore gloves, goggles, and a raincoat and stood ten feet away, I'd still manage to get oil/grease on my blue shirt. Welcome to my world. 🤣
Where are all of the VanHools located in Peoria. Crazy airport drivers, it doesn't matter what decade or century you drove in or how big you are they will cut you off and get mad at you. I thought PCC had a small daytime cleaning crew as well as nights.
Most of our VanHool fleet is based in Chicago, only a couple are at Peoria and Urbana. Airport drivers are a little crazy sometimes 😅 We only have a nighttime wash crew at each of our facilities
I love how you have a display shows]ing the buses’ alignment to the road. I always wonder how drivers of commercial vehicles always stay in the centre. Is it using a point on the dashboard as a reference point to where the white lines are?
The backup camera is nice to have, but not all buses let you have it on while in motion. I don't use it as a reference for being centered; I'm using my mirrors to make sure I'm not crossing the lines
Yes! It's one of our most popular services we run; there are 4-8 buses on the UIUC route 7 days a week, 365 days a year with extra buses running on weekends and holiday travel
We don't have DAF or MAN here in the US. My first pick is Prevost H3-45, then MCI J4500, then MB Tourrider. I would rather quit driving before I drive a VanHool CX-45 long distance; the ride quality is significantly worse old or new CX-45 🥲
Hi, Al. Noticed the very familiar Allison Transmission touch controls at your left. Do all your Prevost units have the B500? And does anyone really use the Volvo transmission?
Yes, in fact the entirety of the fleet is Allison transmission across all makes and models. I wouldn't know who really uses the i-Shift on the Prevost, but I've always been curious to experience the difference
You're videos made me really interesting in driving buses I myself really enjoy driving I'm turning 20 next year I would love to apply for that bus company but I don't think I meet the requirements 😓
Wash crew only works nights and the Chicago facility currently is not able to perform full exterior wash and lavatory dumping, so I performed it during my layover
At minimum, every bus in our fleet will get an interior clean every night if it's at a facility by our wash crew. Chicago base currently doesn't have facilities for exterior wash and lavatory dump, which is why I performed it during my layover at the CU facility
Love these vehicles but they really need sound insulation/reduction to protect drivers ears. I’m getting consistent 70-80 db on a regular day with a brand new vehicle.
Is it allowed to wear a set of Airpods Pro while driving to utilize the noise cancelation feature? Odd sounds would still come through, and conversation mode would allow talking if necessary.
man you gotta wash from TOP DOWN! :) I can def appreciate someone that takes pride in their job. I would have def washed the bus too if I were the driver! HATE a dirty vehicle
There's a reason I intentionally do the opposite direction, I know everyone says top down. Bottom top helps me see where I haven't washed, where top down might leave lines of missed sections and I'll have to go back and wash it again. Stupid reason to save energy, but I realize it's not the normally preached method 🤣 Clean bus means a happy driver hahaha

Haha, now everyone knows what big news he was saving for later this year 😅
Hello Albert, another fun video to watch. I bet you make that new owner of Peoria Charter proud........Thanks for the channel.
Thanks for watching! 🙏
The kneeling sound on the H3-45 is hilarious 😂
Yup, and it's still like that on the new generation 😅
0:35-Even if I wore gloves, goggles, and a raincoat and stood ten feet away, I'd still manage to get oil/grease on my blue shirt. Welcome to my world. 🤣
I like the way that buses travel.
That horn is bonkers 😂
Hahaha I like the MCI J4500's horn more
That horn sound a lot like the one's one Marcopolos coaches
Lessgo, another pov drive from one of the best.
Haha thanks 😊
Nice video! I hope the new owner is working out!
Thanks! 🙏

Hahaha what a small world! I'm still here chilling next to your bus in my bus 😅
@@alblua 🤣 very small world!

Thx for the content 🙏
Thanks! 😊
Awesome video...safe travels
Thank you! 🙏
you are really professional!
Thanks! 🙏
Seems like you do a lot of Chicago to uiuc routes
Yes! It's one of our most popular services we run; there are 4-8 buses on the UIUC route 7 days a week, 365 days a year with extra buses running on weekends and holiday travel
@@albluacould’ve had one extra rider if uiuc didn’t reject me 😅
Albert if you had a chance to drive a coach bus to another state would you do it?
Yes, I've been as far as New York state so far!
@@alblua which company bus would you choose?, like Mercedes, Daf, even Man I think.

@@albluaI heard the same thing up here in Canada.
@@alblua That's a bummer those European buses have really good suspension.
It looked peaceful until you just went in the Mario pipe lol
Hahaha wait until later in the video 😅
Now I’m nervous😅
Albert, we can do LIVE split Q&A together like train vs coach on TH-cam together: it’ll be VIA Rail vs Peoria Charters
Honestly this was the best and funniest bus drive vid in this channel hahaha
Great video but I have to ask what did you have for lunch? That looked amazing..
Beef and shrimp bento box I got from Mitsuwa, it was very good :)
Wish we had those kind of places in Florida. Keep up the great content.
@alblua we have a mitsuwa here in new jersey
I love mitsuwa

12:26 How in the wide, wide world of transportation do you not see an enormous Prevost H3-45 coming right at you?!
Always have to expect the unexpected 😅
Hi, congrats for these contents
Thank you! 😊
Hey Albert, I’ve always thought about going into motorcoach operations and just wanted to know is the pay well?
It depends on the company and the availability you can provide
Hey I love your videos and also uncut videos would be lit btw 🥰🥰
You're videos made me really interesting in driving buses I myself really enjoy driving I'm turning 20 next year I would love to apply for that bus company but I don't think I meet the requirements 😓
A few more years and you will meet our 23 year old requirement! It'll arrive sooner than you think
@alblua Ok thank you for the information 😊
Ty 4 d ride... do d drivers need 2 clean... d garage staff doesn't do it...

Is James is adjusting his new roll as owner of Peoria Charter?
Yes, he is
I’m loving it. But, do you have a facebook?
No, I don't have a Facebook page
Im glad to see more asian american cdl representation
Do you have a po box to send fan mail to?
Woohoo! No, I don't have a PO box
Ok no worries
Also I'm not asian in case you were wondering

I agree, the wind noise is really bad still for the driver on any motorcoach old or new
@@alblua the wind noise too. I was talking about the engine noise though.

Our company policy is one ear must remain open, which means you can only wear one earbud at a time
