- These conditions are honestly my favorite, small but clean and offshore with a good bank is what it takes and it’s not every day here in New Zealand you get this. Also, I landed my first air which I’m so stoked on! Hope you enjoyed this as much as me… Yeww!

Who else is absolutely jealous of this mans surf spot. No crazy lineup, no kooks, beautiful all day long waves. Lucky man
I'm definitely jealous...I typically surf Huntington Beach and it's been an absolute kook gaggle the past few days and months. Can't wait for winter to come around to thin out the herd with colder water temps and bigger swell action.

This was a sick session! Beautiful waves and sick air. Im working on wave catching and was wondering how you caught waves with only like 2 paddles (11:55)? Is there anything to that or just good paddling?
Thanks mate, to answer your question I'd say the key is you need to be positioned right on your board and also be positioned on the right part of the wave. To use that wave as an example, I sunk/dug my board into the water which propelled me forward and gave me extra momentum. I also shifted my weight forward which helped me carry that momentum. But If you have your weight slightly forward from the center of the board and paddle with fast and deep strokes you should be sorted... :)

Hey mate, it completely depends on what skill level you are at and also what type of board, I'm 6'3 ft tall and weigh 80kg... I own a 5'10 and a 6'1, 31L and I find myself riding my 6'1 mainly. Its far better in my opinion and I'd recommend getting something at least 6ft... :)
5'10 would be ok for a grovel board with a lot of volume tho...

If someone leaves their wax I usually use it then put it back bcos I often forget my own. So when I do remember, I leave mine out for other people. Rarely is it there when I get back. Figure it's karma for always forgetting my wax. Can live with that

Put more pressure on your back foot. Each time you hit the section at the end you fall. More pressure will even things out

@@thekookshow3885 You are leaning back too far. Drop the front shoulder and bring that arm around as you start the layback. It will help keep you centred.
