What a wonderful shelling day!! I can't imagine what a shelling day in the winter months is like. You found some beauties on this beach visit. Thanks again for another lovely beach walk. ❤️🐚🌊
I haven't been down here in Florida for a full year yet, so I'm learning as time goes by. I would ALWAYS find tons of shells and then all of a sudden....not much of anything. It's the season and wind. Who knew? With that said, I can't wait for winter to come back. It's a little chilly in the morning, but it's so much fun to go shelling!!!
Aww I think it was a very good day. Nice haul. Oh man I want to go back to Sanibel. Last year we stayed at Waterside Inn. Loved the little cottage we had there. Those sun burst scallops are great! Love pink and yellow mixed.
One of these days I'll have to treat us to staying ON Sanibel. To wake up and just walk outside to go shelling must be amazing! Not to mention you could shell all day long. One of these days...
I was at Sanibel (Blind Pass) today and the shelling wasn't so hot but we stopped at the middle cosway on the way out and found a huge lightening whelk, 2 stunning large horse conchs and at least a dozen shark eyes. The murex you found was beautiful, my favorite shell by far. Thanks for sharing your finds..
You found all those goodies on the causeway?? AMAZING! I've only ever found little tiny shells there. I'll have to be sure to look harder the next time we stop. Thank you so much for watching!!
@@SWFBeachLife Yes, I was amazed. The wind was pushing up the shore line. They are not the cleanest shells but a little acid and scrubbing and they will look like new. I was walking in the water at low tide. Very close to the rocks by the bathrooms on the right hand side headed off the island.
Thanks for sharing your beach walks and shelling! Can't wait until next fall to get to shell there with my kiddos. I'm never going to get them to leave ... lol
Nice finds as always! That gold colored olive is a rare color form of the lettered olive, and is usually referred to as "the golden olive", it is certainly not common to find one on the beach! Sometimes you can find ones that are completely gold colored which those are the rarest. Keep up the great videos :)
I knew that olive was different, but I didn't know how rare they are! Now I want to find more!!! Thanks so much for the info - I really appreciate it. And thank you for watching!!
I have not found a live olive yet. I've seen others have found them so one of these days I'm hoping to come across one. I'll share it of course! Thanks so much for watching!
Why thank you! I'm going to have to look and see if I've ever found one of those before. I didn't realize how special it is. I know there are different types of olives, but I have a hard time finding info on any other than the lettered ones. Thank you for watching my little adventures!
The scallops were so pretty ! Love your videos so much, and thank you. I want to go to the beach so bad, but I live in TN. 😭 have you ever done a giveaway or plan to do one ?
Thanks so much for watching! I actually plan on auctioning this Sunday's shells on eBay! I thought I would try it and see what happens. I'll be posting info in the COMMUNITY tab on my channel. There are over 80 scallops!
Winter is the best time for shelling, but it's never a guanantee! I would say if you can get down here in Jan or Feb, the shelling should be pretty good!
Christy - we ALWAYS walk quite a few miles to find the goodies we do. Normally we walk all the way to Blind Pass and back again. Sorry you didn't find anything good. That happened to me the first time I was there too.
I've only found a couple of really big shells. They're not that easy to find! I keep some of the shells I find, I bring some of them back to the beach and the rest I've put to the side to sell on my website. So many projects, so little time! I did find a big shell in this video: th-cam.com/video/jjQXBxGJxL0/w-d-xo.html Thank you for watching!
Currently I have a pretty big bucket full of shells I need to organize. I've decided I'm going to sell some on eBay too. Then I have some glass jars full of different varieties. I imagine at some point I'm going to run out of room!
That was a great day! Those scallops are so fun!! Thank you! I’ve said it before but I always look forward to your videos on Sunday!
Thank you so much Maggie! I love sharing my beach joy and the goodies I find. Thank you for watching my antics!!
I just can't get enough of your fabulous video's. What a fantastic shelling day!
Thank you so, so much! I'm glad you enjoy them. I appreciate you watching!!!

Thank you again for your videos it's just like being there. You find some amazing and beautiful stuff! Great job!
I'm so glad you enjoy the videos! Thank you for letting me know and thank you for watching!
Thankyou for the shelling walk. The scallops with all the barnacles is so beautiful, wow.
It's so funny - I'm not really a fan but others are. The barnacles are "growing" on me...LOL!
Thank you for the tour...we'll be down in October. Hope to find a bunch then. Those crabs were amazing too! TFS!
I hope you find lots of goodies when you come!

Hi from Canada. Thanks for another beautiful video!

Gorgeous!!! After the madness is over, IM COMING TO FLORIDA!!!!!
You should! It's a different world down here. You'll never want to leave!
I can’t wait for the premiere tonight !
Woohooo! Let's go!
Thanks for sharing your beach walks and shelling! Can't wait until next fall to get to shell there with my kiddos. I'm never going to get them to leave ... lol
The fall here is AMAZING!! The weather is gorgeous and the shells plentiful - enjoy your planning!

Beautiful 🤩🤩💜
I was there a week ago and I can’t wait to go back...
I pretty much feel that way every time I leave the beach too!
I'm always surprised to get a whole paper fig because they're so delicate. Nice find!
I know right?! They certainly live up to the "paper" part of their name. Thank you as always for watching!!
Love your videos! We’ll be down in late September! Maybe we’ll bump into you! 🌞
I'm the disheveled looking lady with the bright orange shell bag 😅
That golden olive is a rare and nice find. Given that is has a nice point on it I'm almost certain it isn't a lettered olive that is faded. Congrats!

What month do you recommend a quick vaca with my husband an in -laws to go shelling?
Winter is the best time for shelling, but it's never a guanantee! I would say if you can get down here in Jan or Feb, the shelling should be pretty good!
we were just at bowman's beach last Thursday and didn't find anything good plus the surf was very rough. wasn't my best experience there.
Christy - we ALWAYS walk quite a few miles to find the goodies we do. Normally we walk all the way to Blind Pass and back again. Sorry you didn't find anything good. That happened to me the first time I was there too.
Have you made it to captiva or the pan handle?
I've only been to South Captiva (Turner Beach) and have not been to the pan handle yet, but it's on my list!
👋🧜♀️
If we come out after Christmas, do you think we would find some fun shells on Sanibel?
Yes, I think at that time of year you'll find lots of fun shells on Sanibel 😀
I miss sanibel. We should have just moved in haha
What do you do with all your finds? Do you ever find any big shells?

what day and time did you go?
We went early. Probably got to the beach before 8am and walked and walked and walked...
@@SWFBeachLife Ah...we got there around 830-9am. But my sister and I just love your videos! Keep em coming!

K Coulter we all want shells
Thanks again for the awesome video, what beautiful shells you found. We are supposed to come to Sanibel in the fall, hope the virus goes away .
Oh my gosh the fall is such a beautiful time of year down here. I hope you can keep your plans.
