Oh my, what a thrill it would be to see that vain in person! Ever since I moved to CDA from Maryland I’ve been enamored with the Geology around here. Not only is the area absolutely beautiful but there’s so much to do...
Recently, I’ve come across some amazing deposits of what I believe is to be high grade Silver ore with iron, platinum and gold. But sadly no one around here seems to know much about geology. From at least the folks I’ve spoke with. Which has been a total shocker.
You see videos like this is what I am after! So I can pick up on little trade tricks and facts for what to keep an eye out for.... What a dream it would be to Change careers from a Project Manager for the DOD and to become a new local legend that found the next big conglomerate vain. Haha
Awesome video here, thank you so much. Hope to see more 👍. And wish me luck 🤞🍀

A bit late to see this video, but given the geology, why was the mine shut down?

What is this footage from? Did you produce this?

It was compiled by Hecla Mining Co., circa 2012. I think it is a wonderful 3D visualization of the; Lucky Friday, Gold Hunter, Star Morning, Hecla system workings and mineralization.

Jim, while not a major producer of silver according to Table 1, Idaho Geologic Survey Technical Report 83-3, from 1883 to 1980 the Star produced, 1% of the districts silver, 4% of the districts lead, and 17% of the districts zinc. , the Morning produced 7% of the districts silver, 19% of the districts lead and 25% of the districts zinc.

Yep I’ve seen those reports. They left all/most of the reports when the mine was abandoned and they are still there.
