- Baleno 2022 has been launched and has already shaken up the market with its features that are first in segment.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno was always known for offering a lot of value in the after market and the legendary Maruti suzuki after sales service which is even better at NEXA dealerships, so now you have more reasons to get the 2022 baleno over its rivals like the TATA Altroz and Hyundai I20.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno was never known for safety and had a lot of issues during accidents for its body structure and build quality, has it changed in the new 2022 Baleno?
Maruti says they have worked on the structure of the body and 50 kgs have been added for better stability and better safety you also get an option to have 6 air bags in your car.
This is great news for those concerned with safety and would not consider Maruti Suzuki for its poor build quality and prefer Tata but still after driving the car for a long time I did not get the same kind of feel that I get with Volkswagen or Tata cars.
The suspension has been retuned and reworked as well, you get lot more composure at higher speeds and at city speeds you get lot more comfort this makes 2022 Baleno an excellent all round car.
what left me impressed is that this is not just an evolution over the old Baleno, this is completely new car.
You have a lot of colours to choose from, so you can pick the one you like. You can also customise your Baleno as per your liking NEXA also offers a lot of accessories for the new Baleno.
The new product from Maruti Suzuki may look like a mere facelift but once you drive the all new Baleno you will be impressed with its stability, new suspension, host of useful features like the 360 degree Camera, completely new interior design and quality that gives you a premium feel.

Thank you very much for depth analysis. I appreciate your knowledge and bringing out the drawbacks of the car. I am planning to buy this car after listening your views.
I owned Honda brio for 7 years. Recently I have switched baleno. This engine is certainly better than Honda 1.2 ltr Seating comfort, suspension and AC is also very good. Steering response and accuracy is the only area where honda is far better.
I am also using Baleno zeta manual since September 2022.
What I observed -
Pros-
1. Smooth engine with good low end punch. Mid range is okayish.
2. Fuel efficiency is good too (16-18 in city and 22-25 on highways)
3. Front seat comfort is best in class. Cushioning is perfectly done.
4. Rear seat legroom is amazing
5. Plastic quality of top part of dashboard is slightly better than before. Lower half is the same more or less.
6. Switchgear quality of AC controls is good.
7. Steering response is better than old Baleno
8. Front armrest is perfectly positioned
9. AC is quite effective. No issues there.
10. Boot size is good enough
11. Audio system quality is good but not better than TATA.
12. Touch screen visibility in direct sunlight is really good.
13. Door pockets are good in size.
14. Fitting of plastics is good. No uneven panel gaps or rattling issues till now.
15. Indoor cabin lights are good.
Cons -
1. Mid range punch is average.
2. Plastic quality of lower part of doashboard is only average.
3. Performance of engine in hilly areas is not good. I went to Shimla with 2 people and a little luggage. It performed poorly in some conditions (I was using alto k10 before this)
4. Overall visibility from fromt and rear windscreen is not good enough. Especially, the vertical area of fromt windscreen is not enough. The windscreen is more inclined which hampers the vertical area of windscreen.
5. Outside rear view mirror of driver side makes some wierd friction noise from 4 months while closing it. Doesnt make noise while opening.
6. Boot vertical hump is very bad which makes putting in luggage a tough task sometimes.
7. Front armrest opening and closing mechanism has become slightly loose after using it for 6 months
8. The plastic on the back side of horn on the steering is little flimsy as it makes noise while pressing horn sometimes.
9. Heft has been added to front doors only as rear doors are still very light.
10. Overall glass area could be better in the car to give it airy feeling.
11. The plastic has some wierd smell when in direct sunlight but it is not everytime.
12. Glovebox size is really small
Owner manual and some small items and it is already full.
13. Middle front Ac vents shape is small which i think affets air flow slightly.
14. Nexa has removed puddle lamps from Zeta variant since July 2022, which was a nice feature to have.
15. The car's outside design has some sharp creases(especially at the rear lights and bumper) in its overall design which can sustain dirt in it for a long period of time. Hard to remove as well.
It is a well rounded package with no deal breaker point. All the above cons are minor points except the build of the car could be slightly more assuring at some places.

I'm a complete beginner who has not even driven a two wheeler, so what I want to know is if swift will be easier for me as compared to baleno, since it's a bigger car ?
Else does the size of baleno and swift does not matter much ?

At around 20:40 you have mentioned about the plastic smell, I had Swift diesel in the past and this was very much a problem for my family members. Later on we bought i20 and this was not observed there. Are you saying that Baleno 2022 also has this pastic smell problem when car is parked in sun for some time? this could be a real deal maker/ breaker for us so asking.
Baleno 2022 weighs 950kg and Honda amaze weighs 930kg but every one points out Baleno as light weight car

Until Baleno was launch JAZZ had the best cabin space. But after the launch of Baleno & newer launch i20 with good Cabinspace & better feature list killed JAZZ sales to minimum.
Baleno is offered with best Refined, Responsive K-Series Petrol engine with linear power delivery. Its Class Apart with superb clutch release & Gear shifts. I have an Amaze but iVtec 1.2 Petrol engine is good for nothing at speed breakers and climbing slopes of Mall's. Maybe Honda's Engine Reliability is far better but in City traffic it feels underpowered with 2nd gear good for nothing.
Apart from build quality it ticks all boxes for both driver & family because of rear seat comfort. Its one of the best for our City Traffic condition. On Highway because of low body weight it feels light & fragile at high speed.
Its offered with best variant offerings in the segment. Hats of to Maruti for loading it to perfection.
Overall its A VFM package for City traffic.

Amaze is good. Price is bit higher for the given features. Altroz is better interms of build. If you like altroz, choose altroz diesel. Baleno/glanza- good interms of mileage. Every car has its plus and minus. Do proper test drive and choose.
Pleas sir, compare punch amt and Baleno amt especially for new driver. Which has lesser or negligible jerk

Can we have same thing for Amaze, Sonet, Magnite, etc (This can be done price range wise for the ones choosing a car within price range). This helps in shortlisting and taking test drive only shortlisted ones.

Between altroz diesel 4 cylinder and baleno which one is good . Looking for long term usage and solidness.
There seems to be rusting issues with Tata vehicles. I preferred TATA but after seeing rusting at the boot door of altroz, tiago & nexon brand new models parked in the TATA showroom, I went ahead with Baleno 2023.
Please can you review Citroen C3. How does it fare in comparison of New Baleno barring the features.

V shanmugam. For models not having uv glass, fix antiglare screen in windshield. It will cut heat radiation inside and plastic smll will be reduced.
Ignis Zeta vs Baleno Sigma 2023, which one is better under 7.5lakh
Baleno Sigma and delta models have not projector headlights and rear ac vents. Which decrease some confidence level and comforts. Becz I bought delta model 2022.
Sigma and Delta variants come with projector headlamps but its Halogen bulbs.

I bought Baleno Alpha AMT in March 2023 in Rs.12 lacs (including accessories, RTO charges, road tax, insurance). I have driven it 3000 kms so far. My monthly running is around 1000 kms (70% highway & 30% city). Here's what I found -
PROS -
1) Spacious cabin with ample legroom for rear occupants
2) Sufficient boot space with hydraulic tailgate
3) Auto dimming IRVM
4) Excellent headlights
5) Very silent refined engine
CONS -
1) I regret buying AMT because it gives mileage of 18 to 20 kmpl. I have checked tank to tank mileage many times. I drive with lightfoot and never cross 80 kmph speed. Still it is giving so less mileage as compared to manual version. One of my friend has Baleno manual version & it gives him mileage of 23 to 24 kmpl.
2) No youtuber will tell you this but the rear part of Baleno (near rear grab handles) is bulkier. So when I try to do reverse parking, it creates a blind spot in ORVMs and hampers judgement.
3) IRVM and infotainment screen are so close that it creates a big blind spot on windshield.
4) Manual car gives you confidence that you can control car even at high speeds. But that is not case with AMT.
5) Front seats have good lower back support but equally bad mid back support.
6) Auto start stop system is very irritating. Though Maruti claims that engine will stop 15 seconds after pressing the brakes, in reality engine stops after 3 seconds or 5 seconds.

altroz ground clearance is not good and engine also not refined.....I 20 not comfortable for long driving.....this baleno hv everything for long run up as it offers everything that a drivers need
I test drove this car (owning Honda jazz since last 7 yrs) but found my old jazz better than Baleno. It’s engine performance is weaker and produces more noise.

There is no Music system in Base model (One has to install)... and non branded Android won't perform as good as Sony and Pioneer sound quality.
Sigma has best vfm varient. Can do pure audio system in aftermarket. All are easily available.

If you want a 100% perfect vehicle with zero issue then I suggest you that in the whole world there is only one such vehicle.

In that vehicle you will not have issue with cheap plastic, car instability at high speed, no AC problem. Highest mileage for penny cost.

Buy a donkey🐴 cart and use it as a vehicle. It does not come with any defect because the owner i.e seating person and the moving animal are both from same gene.

The other advantages are you and the do can swap the position with the 🐴.

So then, you can run and pull the cart while the 🐴 is relaxing and smoking 555 on the cart.

BTW i could not use it because I am comfortable driving my 20.5 kmpl mileage ALTO AMT, even when it has 100 lakh issues in it.
