Your review is spot on Dean. I bought my GLX manual last year Oct. Really great value for money. My fuel consumption sits around 18km/l. Real comfortable feel in the cabin and on the road. So much space in this car. Best buy by far if you looking at the 300k price range

Had the Suzuki Swift 21' for a year and half, car started giving issues so we traded it in for the Baleno AT GL. Man, what an upgrade for a mere R50k difference. To speak to the revs... getting 3000rpm on 125km/h and averaging 16km/l for the two days we had it. We live in country side, so AT is perfect for it. No robots, just one stop and a turn, then a 30km road to work. Car makes you actually lazy so cozy and easy to ride.

Very good review! Love watching your videos. I think the speaker sound in any Suzuki is sub par, I find it in the Swift as well. That's the only area I think Suzuki can do better but in all other aspects, very good value for money cars.
Hi Dean. I live outside of ct, so travel highway, outlying roads so not just in the city. Have 2 questions, as i have looked at this car and going to see the fronx soon. The gl only has 2 airbags vs 6 in glx... how safe do you think the gl-the car in general is , supposed to have side impact door beams, as per the manual but salesman says it doesn't. Latin ncap gave it a 0 after side crash results,must still be tested by other facilities. Also, did you experience any crosswinds as i get that on open roads. Hate wind so that would deter me from buying any car if it gets played around with too much. I also drive on gravel at times, do you think this can handle a few gravelly roads. Not heavy duty rutted grondpad. If both gl cars are safe enough ,fronx might be better suited but do like the baleno. Have owned ix35,various Tucson, 4x4 ranger. Suzuki offering so much for good price. Ps need to change to an automatic after injury to left foot and back, hence looking at these cars.

Bro those cars are made in india and exported all over the world and are the most affordable option available but due to affordability it doesn't have many safety features apart from airbags ABS EBD and it's Global Ncap is also 0 or 1.
Can we talk about the engine noise? It's very rumbly but not in a good way, sounds like something is wrong from the get go. and that's in town driving, how bad is it on the highway then? Comparing to 2022 Corsa
I'm very interested in buying one of these ... but ... there is one thing about a car that is very important to me, and that's the ride, a car that smooths out the bumps. I've seen some reviews that say they were feeling all the bumps in this car. I'm in the UK and they stopped making this car for here in 2019 due to low sales. It seems a perfect car for me except ... the ride seems suspect and could be a deal breaker for me. I don't think you mentioned feeling the bumps in the road so I'm hoping that means it wasn't a serious problem, unless the roads where you are are pretty smooth.
This is interesting feedback. I honestly had no issues with the ride quality of this vehicle, but perhaps road surface also had something to do with it. There are some bumpy stretches on my daily commuting route, though, and I thought the Baleno handled them just fine 🤷🏼♂️ If the Baleno’s been discontinued in the UK, maybe you can find a good pre-owned model at a dealer to take for a test drive and check it out for yourself. 😊 Also, thanks for watching! 😇
The older generation had bad ride quality. The current baleno rides so much better. So if u want good ride quality I would suggest that you skip out on the older generation which was sold in the UK. Hi from India

Funnily enough that car also had suspension problems with its early models which they upgraded later. It also had a serious call-back problem with later models, but the ones inbetween I think are wonderfull.
I have the auto gl. I'm really enjoying it around town. Smooth gear changes and quick light acceleration. On the freeway not too bad. Rev sits around 3k. Only issue is that I have it for 4 days now and with more town driving I am averaging 7.6 which is quite high. Hopefully this drops as I gain more miles. It's only doing 300 kms. What's your opinion
@@DeanFriederich my auto sits just under at 2900rpm at 120km. Car is nice and quiet at 100km/which is speed limit in India that's why I think they developed this car that way. Its sitting at about 2500rpm when cruising at 100km and it's best suited for this speed. Around 110km is also little exceptible, however when you at 120km/h that's when the car feels alot busier. Wind noise and car doesn't feel as planted. Around town this car is a doddle to drive if you drive it with a light foot. Personally upgrading to glx wouldn't be worth it if the drive is the same as what I'm getting in the gl. You would just be paying more for tech however the driving experience over 120km/h is somewhat questionable. Cruise at 100km/h and you will be happy. My personal experience is cos I have an Audi A4 to compare with, this opinion is my personal preference and honestly most drivers who buy this car wouldnt even notice this or pay attention to any of the info we just highlighted here. It's your average car buyer and for them this will be just an awesome car. They don't care or even notice those details. The Gl just makes better sense. I'm happy with the purchase as a second car to drive mostly around town and occasionally on highway if need be. Drive the auto gently and its a pleasent driving experience.

Manual in 5th gear at 120 km/h and Auto in 4th sits at the same revs = 3000rpm
