There's nothing better than hearing both father and son singing together. Jimmy Barnes belonged to a rock/pub band called Cold Chisel before venturing on with a solo career. David's path led him to musical theatre and had his break in the US. Believe me, David can belt it out just like his father can. I heard them singing at a rugby final once and they were amazing! I love to see the pride that Jimmy has for his son and he's not afraid to show it. This performance was at Carols by Candlelight, an event held each Christmas Eve where those from Melbourne (my home town), where it's held, plus others from further afield assemble each year to listen to those singing on stage, as well as singing along too. It's an Aussie tradition. Although, it wasn't able to be seen in this clip, most members of the audience hold candles and afterwards will float them on the Yarra River. It certainly is a sight. I realise that this comment is rather late, yet it was the first video to be recommended to me on my home page and I couldn't resist. I appreciate seeing this again.🇦🇺💖👩🏼🎨
This song is made even more special when you know that Jimmy and his son David had a very rough start to their relationship as David didn’t know Jimmy was his father until he was about 10.
David definitely has some extra power that he hides in reserve for some reason, Mahalia uses hers, shes great too. You end up just wanting to hug the whole family. Jimmy has a brand new release with his grandkids for this Christmas. Its fun and looks back to when his kids were little too. His extensive list of covers is great too. Check out Jimmy doing a last minute fill in for SIA on an awards show, he did " Chandelier " amazing.
David is the host of a TV morning show but has also done stage shows. The love and admiration that Jimmy shows his son is truely fantastic, and as a mother I resonate so much ❤
Funny you say that as my youngest boy recently turned 18 and I mentioned on another reaction to this song that it sums up exactly how I feel as a mum, as he heads off into the big adult world 😆
It’s lovely isn’t it. Father and son singing together and which such open affection

I always end up with shedding a few tears whenever I see this performance. Lovely reaction Honi as usual. Love from Australia
Jimmy has a raspy voice as he was born in Glasgow, Scotland 👍
Both legends ❤
David made his name in the US singing big band music like Michael Buble. He now hosts morning tv in Australia.
And I watch him most mornings 👍
Check out jimmy and his kids and grandkids singing if Santa forgets

The moment Jimmy hugs and kisses David brings me unstuck every time. ❤
