As a Canadian you'll be possibly surprised to know that we got many British shows here even though we only had two channels for many years if you didn't have cable. Which we didn't until I was maybe 12 or 13 something like that. But the CBC played a lots shows Like Are you being Served (I didn't really get that one) Minder and comedies like The two Ronnies and of course Benny Hill The Goonies every day at 5pm!! Loved em! Of course Last of the Summer Wine and Many others. But the FORD CAPRI came into my life from Europe here in Canada and I bought TWO!! LOL. Then rally raced them and sold them off when I went on the road touring with my band.
so minder gives you the cardboard reference right? 😂
@@LordInter that was The Sweeney or The Professionals wasnt it ??
What do Canadians make of Minder and Terry Mc cann 😀
@@martinparker9249 Professionals I think. Sweeney was as Granada/Consul through a plate glass window
The Tasty Party. I'd vote for you.
And ban all LEZs
This has quickly become my Friday afternoon routine 👍
HubNut definitely needs to be in your Cabinet as Minister For Minor Calamities.
How do you tag people? @hubnut are you in?
Best TH-cam car restoration channel, love your personality and you make it all entertaining, doing amazing work keeping these classics on the road, love it and well deserved with all good things in the future
i have no idea about cars, never watch these sorts of show. was attracted because the capri has been my favourite car since my dad had one. you are amazing to watch, so calm, so thoughtful as your doing stuff and you make it so I can understand what your doing. amazing programme, amazing presenter. subscribed already
Very kind words mate thank you!
Keep it simple, Tasty Britain is a campaign I could get behind and vote for 🇬🇧
Goes to show the hidden nightmares of 80s/90s cars. External rust protection is adequate, but then they rust inside out
Rumour is he raided every cardboard recycling bag in Tarporley to create that opening shot.
Regarding door removal and re-install - for heavy doors, you have an engine hoist and straps. And another thing, I made an adaptor for my die grinder to make slitting disks go further and also to get into tight spaces.
YEA BABY TURBO TURBO TURBO!!!!! YEA!!!! Now I have a warning for ya here. I put some huge power to my 1973 Capri back in the day (around 1985 or so lol) and it was a V6 2.6l with racing pistons high rise manifold headers four barrel carb and it had over 300 hp no questions asked. The only big problem was the Rear end blew out on me almost within the first two months or less. Over heating wasn't a problem surprisingly. So take all this as you wish. ROCK ON BRO!!!
Tip for fixing your overriders, drill all the metal out of the overrider itself and epoxy a 10mm bolt into it. Bury the head of the bolt quite far in and “slather” in arildite. I did mine 20 years ago and they’re still on!👍
Great tip!
If you find it hard wearing the welding helmet get some sunglasses type or goggles type Ben I've even worn two pairs of sunglasses in the past 😂@@tastyclassics
Love this Capri build. How apt that when you were welding the A post the cardboard in the car says ‘proper’ all over it - just like the job you are doing on the Capri. The car is going to be epic when it’s finished. Thanks for another great video 👍👍
Teaching welding in primary school is your best line yet 😂. Pml at that one. Capris really starting to take shape.
What an intro. We need more of those. 😂
Really enjoying the Capri build, looking solid now! Vote for Ben and the Petrol Party!
I owned a mk 1 Capri it was my first car after passing my test at 17 years of age . I loved that car then went on to a fire engine red mk 2 which I also loved they were super strong cars with huge kerb appeal. Have a new subscriber thanks for great content , can't wait to see it all done , please don't skimp on anything she will reward you thousands of times over 😊
I feel you may have missed a small opportunity with your intro Ben.
It would have been perfect if you'd slid across the bonnet with a "welcome to part 3, you SLAAAAAG"
AND ...." we havnt had any dinner " !!
Ben for president! That’s got to be a new sticker to add to the collection! 👍
I can see this going the way of the mini! It's going to take all of your money!
The best thing with the wing off, spetialy if you take both off, you can Schulz it all the way and preserve the car for the next 200 years.
The Capri episodes have by far been my favourites.. Loving the old school cool Capri. Miss my old ones so much watching this! Best youtube channel by far on a Friday
"It's an old Capri!" Drill:...WOOOO! 👌😂
I'll vote for you. But you must promise to add a third pressurised tap that delivers draft Guinness. (or the beer of the home owners choice.)
Party name. The Pist-on Engine Heads.
I will listen and I will act upon that 🙏🏼😌
@@tastyclassics Party name. The Pist-on Engine Heads. Do you need a deputy leader.
Loving your work. Started with the tt video which ended up on my feed and worked my way back. I’m genuinely laughing at all your relatable problems. I nearly had an aneurism when that drill press snapped - that’s my luck on rusty cars in a snapshot. Keep up the good work.
The intro was better than the welding ,looking forward to the engine rebuild 😂
Der der dum diddy diddy der der dum! Bit of Doyle going on in the intro!. T-T-T-T-Turbo, whoosh!.💨 That's going to light the back tyres up!. Make your pick up, burn-out look like a smoke bomb went off!. Ben for premier! Love the ideas.....
The tasty party!
Great work on the old Capri.......looking forward to the next video
Professionals-tastic opening, buddy.
Keep up the good work. The Capri deserves saving. 👍👍
primary school welding - Love it 🤣🤣🤣
so enjoying this!...all the best...
The Tasty Classic party.
the TCP?? ... 🤔 smells a bit iffy to me 😁
@@Liberty-Cap why?.
Why it's just a bit of fun.
@@jimroberts3268 "TCP" is a product that's used as an antiseptic for cuts etc .. and it stinks! Ya get me now? 🙂👍
@@Liberty-Cap yes now I know what you mean.
Great video again Ben. Also the free petrol and diesel on tap and banning electric cars, gets you my vote 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻🤣🤣🤣
Fantastic intro Ben and you do your own stunts. TASTY TRANSPORT PARTY. Roll on next week
Looking forward to seeing your progress, good to see things we're not quite as bad as they looked from the outside
YES BEN! - Elmo the Capri is coming along sweet, bless them little patches looks good!! lets hope MOT man is loving it as much I do! great job indeed mate
Loving this project! Even more so now it’s getting a turbo! “Tasty Law”
P.S a fuel tap at home! Hell yes! That teamed with banning all electric cars that’s bloody epic 🤣
Great show Ben can't wait for next installment and love the bloopers at end ,dukes of hazzard would be proud
Great video yet again Ben,loving the fact you’re restoring a Capri.
I exclusively restore Vauxhall cars and have been doing so since the late 80s...I consider all models up to the 90s but my ultimate restoration would be a 2.3 Magnum = very rare car to find now.
Vauxhalls are a nightmare, been trying to get a 2.0 cih rebuilt for my mk1 cavalier and finding a new engine was difficult got the only one available and it needs loads of new parts that aren’t stocked anymore and many parts imported from Europe and it’s taking my garage ages, if it was a ford of the era with a pinto I could get all the parts or even a drop in engine within a week
You are a tonic sir, a very very clever guy, many thanks for entertaining us all
I’m loving watching this. Your reference to jubilee clamps made me laugh. We Canadians refer to them as Tridon clamps in reference to the company that manufactured them in Ontario Canada. Keep up the great work. Can hardly wait to see this Capri go sideways !
Good luck with the new passenger wing, you may need it. I restored a 1986 2.0 Laser nearly 20 years ago and replaced the wings. The replacement passenger wing which wasn't a cheap one was half an inch short along the rear edge down the door shut line. Everything else lined up absolutely perfectly.
You sir are amazing so look forward to see wat you do I had a capri in the seventys loved it wish I'd kept it keep up the brilliant work fella love it.
Loving these episodes being a ford fan myself, intrigued to see that next left for dead being from wigan myself ha, lets hope its better than the metro 😂
Class video again !! Thanks Ben. 👍
Great work on the Capri. Subscribed, liked & commented !!
You’ll get my vote,Ben…..And,you gotta love a turbo! All the best.
Thanks Ben for another fantastic video always look forward to see your video
Been a busy week but eeked out this one and loved it, had to rewind a few times as I fell asleep, not through your vid but because I was knackered. Now on to the Vauxhall, don't need anything else.
Ben gets my vote. Loving the capri. You literally have my dream car line up on you channel. Keep up the good work buddy.
Great video and a Master Welder !!!!!
That's a good start to the show 😂😂
You've got my vote!
So Savage can't wait to see more on the capri such a good cool car only starting the video now
“250 quid -I want to be fast, not structurally sound” 😂😂 epic
🤣🤣
Well, you can only have one "OR" the other...😂🤣😬🤣☝
Enjoyed this, thanks Ben.
Your welding skills are bob on buddy 👍
Sadly, I was half expecting that cast metal drill press vise to break. They are just not designed to be used like that 😒 Nice idea though...
Good show greetings from Sydney Australia, I’ve been watching since the Rover 1962 good job keep it up from Steve
You expertly gliding over that Capri bonnet, brought a tear to my eye
The A pillar welding was a great watch, lovely result.
Possibly the best intro ive seen 😂😊 rymes and all
Best intro I've ever seen 🙂 Brilliant.
Lovely job! Can’t wait for the boost noises!!!
nice, love the opening
Great stuff again Mr.T!! The Weld Your Children To The Ceiling Party is my best suggestion. You´d get my vote.
laughing as I go to work in my horrible job, thanks.
Has to be The Restoration party! I thought I was watching Dennis Waterman for a minute! Ford Capri was my dream car as a kid. Oh and a TR7 great episode!
Brilliant so enjoying this Ben
Another great video Ben, i always look forward to the friday evening videos, and your manifesto sounds perfect 👌👍🤣
You will want the Sierra cosworth rear diff and possibly ditch the leaf springs
Great job ben takin shape mate looking forward to more
Excellent a man after my own heart that you could have a beer and a proper laugh about the struggles of laying under a car with … excellent vids …
Holy shitballs I wasn't ready for that intro!
With the mirror light you can stick one layer of white electrical tape over the LEDs if they are too bright. That's what I did on mine for certain jobs.
You are funny. You knew that we knew that you were going to replace the wing, right from the start!!
I used to have two Fox body Capris here in America (1980 & 1984) I would have happily traded both to have the capri you all got to enjoy.
Ben good to see you at 1.08.10 using a spray can of zinc...the correct British way with your finger not the Derick American way with his thumb! next the yanks will be telling us how to spell tyre LOL xx
Got to love the classic "Watch this" just before it all goes wrong...lol
a good trick sir with the rusty bolts is to hammer a 12 sided socket on to them worx on locking wheel nut too great vid thanx
..
Fascinating watching the metalwork. Great work mate. I really, really need to learn to weld.
So do I 😂 if you ever have anything that needs any welding we should do a colab I always like watching your videos!
Few glasses of red wine after hard day chilling watching my fav channel 🏁🤘🏻
I’m really looking forward to seeing this done what a toy
Just what I needed after working on the Cortina Ben. :)
Hi Ben loved the capri intro
Ben brilliant,very entertaining thanks.
spoiler allert!!! Silver AUDI TT on the trailer 👀
I'm voting for you!!!
Awesome v log can't wait to see this build finished, would love to see it sent round the nurbergreing if that's how you spell it 😂
Awsome video. Love The capri
I'd vote for you Ben. As always, loving your content.
I think your party should be called Tasty Politics lol 😂. The capri is looking amazing. Great work. Looking forward to the next episode. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Needs a limited slip diff now 👌
100%
Great video Ben
Id be very tempted to go with a sleeper build, 2.0L livery or even 1.6 laser.
You got my vote, don't worry about how to pay for it, that's never worried the current lot.
Ben I love listening to your exaggerated descriptions of stuff it bloody cracks me up I think you should be know as the exaggerater proprietor of tasty classics!😂
Love watching your videos. Just saying hi from Aberdeen Scotland
The man is back! Amd with his coolest car!!!
Tasty Freedom Party
