This should have been her debut, she's a serious talent and she is so much better than what she showed in Boyz
but she'll probably need songs like Boyz to be noticed on radio and charts, unfortunately
i find this so weird cuz she had CLEARLy so much fun with Boyz, she was SO hyped with her debut single and ppl just started to get on this hate train... also the honest vocal coach. WE were the problem. Hating someone having a blast! And the song itself wasn't a bad one at all... it was fun. She had fun. We were so busy hating... it's just stupid tbh
But it's our modern cancel-culture world.... "Oh God you didn't like her debut single?" - "We hate the hell out of this poor girl!!!" 😂

Difference between label release and independent release I think.
I think it’s good that she released Boyz first because it lets her become more versatile with styles along with just getting that era over with
Just wanna say this song is about her mum and dad. It’s showing how abusive relationships really are and she does it perfectly and beautifully. She worked closely with women’s aid for this song release bc it means so much to her! Thanks for ur review💗

"Boyz" is a banger, and "Bad Thing" is a haunting masterpiece. "Bad Thing", for me, is the sequel to "Boyz". "Boyz" is about wanting a bad boy, and "Bad Thing" is about what often happens after you get him.

Yea it IS supposed to be in the 60s-70s cause she's recreating her parent's story. She's playing her mum here. And he's "damaged goods" cause she's alluding to the fact that that guy/her dad ended up in prison. Basically a guy of the wrong tracks.
I've watched this video several tines and when I first watched it ,I sobbed. I'm watching it today after about a few months and I'm crying again. It's a music video that will never leave my mind.

I was really looking forward to this reaction since the single came out, I knew you would like it, because it's really good. Did you notice that, at the end she sings: "I'm damaged goods", before she sang he is damaged goods, but at the end she also feels that way, it's very sad 😢. And I've read somewhere that she worked with an organisation to prevent domestic violence. This is definitely a great new single.

Jesy definitely understood the qualities of how her vocals capture emotion. This song really gave me the parts of Jesy I enjoyed most from her Little Mix days when singing songs like "Good Enough", "Woman's World", "Notice" etc...
With Boyz I assume she wanted that impactful uptempo urban flavour to get a potential top 20 hit, which she did achieve. Lyrically it didn't do much for me, but liked her dancing a lot.
BAD Thing is Jesy in her purest element, but with that brilliance, not sure where it fits in today's chart market sonically.
It deserves a strong performance as this is a great job done lyrically and sonically.

Boyz was such a slay. I still stand by it.
It's so sad that Jesy didn't start with this song...Unfortunately her actual first single, although catchy, was rubbish and tone deaf. When you come out as a solo artist and you're already well known then your first single will set the tone for your career and Jesy and her team completely missed the mark and offended a lot of people. It might be hard to recover from, even with a stellar vocal performance and a strong message such as this one. I'm interested to see her perform it live because her solo performances so far (with Boyz) have been mostly lipped and the minimal vocals that were live were extremely poor for an industry veteran. I really hope she comes out and gives a strong vocal performance live with this one and proves to the haters that she does have what it takes!

No one judged her for leaving little mix initially - she made poor artistic choices and then tried to bully a previous member of the group. She made poor choices and behaved like a brat and now she’s dealing with the consequences.

I absolutely adore this song. Honestly she was always my favourite in LM. I think the media is very good at pitting women against each other and blowing things out of proportion. They don't do that to men . Not to the same extent. I also don't think she's entirely to blame for the bad blood in LM. The others are no saints

@@soulofhoneymoon No, it was obvious at the end that she was on her own. Jesy was mistreated by people around them - the same people that the rest of LM are still cozy with. And don’t even get me started on how the abuse of Jesy from LM fans exploded when she left the band, and how the others (especially Leigh Anne) only fueled the fire. I lost all respect I ever had for those three fakers.
She is to blame though, because she had all their support, until she started acting out. They were all going to do solo projects, so why wouldn’t they support Jesy? Just admit that she messed up, and handled everything very badly.
@@soulofhoneymoon I mean, Leigh-Anne hasn't been a great friend exactly. In the Odd One Out documentary, she didn't really seem to give a shit, she was just sat on the beach whilst Jade & Perrie were trying not to breakdown in tears. Her own documentary was just not it either.

So why not just tell the truth if they were all going on a hiatus? All the fans were in support of her and were waiting to see her first solo project, only to be underwhelmed by it. And it didn’t stop there, rather than take responsibility for her actions, she allowed that clown Nicki to fight her battles for her, which just made it worse. And fans like you don’t help either, because instead of holding her accountable, you just pass the blame onto Leigh-Anne, who did nothing to deserve this. Now look at this song, it’s beautiful and soulful, this is what we wanted for her, this is what we knew she was capable of, if only she would admit that she made a mistake...
She found her style I feel her label pushed her in bad boys direction now she's a independent artist and slaying

I really like it. I struggled with some diction. . it does say the lyrics and video are based on true events. so sad that this happens daily to people. 😢 I worked with so many victims male and female and will always stay with me. Well done jesy and appreciate she put a help contact at the end. Xx
