Here it is, 2021, and I take stock how cool it is to still be in touch with a family I taught in 1981. The 17 year-old daughter (at that time) of that family is now a grandmother several times over. Meanwhile, one of her sons is on a mission in Tahiti.
There are probably 100s of thousands of RMs who feel just like Brandon, i.e., I'm just a man who struggles like everyone else. For me, that's kind of the point. We are truly just instruments in the Lord's hands. Great story all around.
Forty years ago I got to see an entire family come into the church in New Zealand. I took a photo of them on their baptismal day and gave them an enlargement. Time moved on and we lost touch with each other. About six or so years ago I got an email out of the blue from one of the daughters and verified I was their Elder W. Pretty soon I was emailing the entire family and it was a wonderful reunion. Several years later the son of the oldest daughter (who was only 7 at the time) was called to the mission I live within in Utah and we got to have him over to the house for dinner. It was like paying it forward to feed him after all the meals his grandmother fed me so long ago, and it was a true “missionary payday” to see that those efforts four decades earlier had made a generational impact on this wonderful family. (They still have that old photo!)
Just go and serve! I promise you will be blessed forever. It has been 14 years since I finished my mission and every time I receive a blessing I feel the Lord is taking care of me after I took care of his sheep.
This is so sweet! I found one of the elder who baptized me, elder David Royster from Utah. I am still looking for his companion elder Rogers from Arizona. This was In Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in 1980.
This is likey story. My parents met as missionaries in the 1950s. I'm their 2 nd missionary, served in Korea, one of my converts served and met her husband in Seoul mission. Their daughter was called to that same mission. I have attended their sealings, baptisms, farewells, and receptions. We had babies together even. What a blessing!!. God loves us so much.
WOW I've watched a lot of these today, this one is in my top 3 thank you so much for sharing your testimony. This was a special one, Thank you Elder Keller for going and serving the Lord.
Beautiful, beautiful story! So happy that I saw this, since it was so beautiful! And finding the church and the gospel is a very beautiful thing! Besides the missionaries are absolutely wonderful! So happy that this sister recorded this and gave her story... and it just so happens that I know this Bro. Keller who baptized her so many years ago! He and his wife, Kelli, had been in our ward in Woods Cross! What a surprise to see Bro. Keller in this video! Thank you, Bro. Keller, for your service
Take pictures of your baptism, it's the most special day of you're life, the blessings that come from the gospel are so amazing! I'm a Temple worker today, because I was baptized! It's been one of the greatest blessings of my life!😇🌷🧡💚
I don't think the missionaries realize the impact they have on everyone and the impact the mission has on them.. Two elders gave me an administration that was miraculous. .So very grateful.
Oh my gosh!!! Same here, I was baptized at age 10 in Nicaragua, I'm about to serve a mission and I know nothing about the missionaries who taught me :'( I don't remember their names.... hopefully I'll find them.
@@HoopesJohnC thank you! I've done that but I haven't found anything yet.. my mom was baptized in the 80's haha and surprisingly this elders didn't leave a note or maybe they did but I lost it haha
I have lost track of the elders who taught me. I wish I could find them and tell them about how much my life changed since I was baptized over 20 years ago.
I also looking for elder Andy Jackson from Utah who bautize my whole family 29 years ago in the branch Paraiso in Mexico City the first of July of 1990, please help me to find him

Ask your parents! Look for names in your family scriptures. Check the Facebook page of the mission in your area.

Well, don’t give up! Say some prayers, and hopefully you will find them before too long!
I think that that moment when they meet each other again, it's like a glimpse of heaven
