Why are you really pressured into a mission? 1. It separates you from your family friends giving you a taste of what will happen if you ever leave. 2. The church knows they lose more members in their late teens and early twenties than any other age - so keep someone looking over their shoulder 24 hours a day and keep them on a highly demanding treadmill never giving time to think. 3. The amount of negative feedback on a mission makes people feel more comfortable when they come back to their bubble where everyone shares the same belief. The bottom line - missions aren't to convert people - they are to keep members in
