I am married and have been for almost 16 years, but if I wasn't, I wouldn't spend my life looking for a man that demands I change who I am to suit them. If they really love you, you shouldn't have to be or do anything different and stop doing what you love to keep them in your life. Kudos to you for putting your kids and yourself first!!

Mary, It was wise that you saw that red flag in the relationship. My first husband turned out to be abusive. He slowly isolated me from everything in my life that didn't involve him. It got to the point that I didn't even talk on the phone or read a book. Looking back I didn't even realize it at the time but I would avoid these things because it put him in a bad mood. If I was on the phone with someone he would start pacing around the house very restless until I got off the phone. Needless to say our marriage did not last long.
Hey Mary I'll tell you what I did about my squirrel issue. I had a bird feeder as well and the squirrels were eating the seed so knowing that I could never kill any living creatures I actually set up another feeder in my yard for the squirrels. I know people say don't feed the squirrels as they become a problem but I've never had any trouble with them since I gave them their own feeder. I buy huge bags on peanuts still in the shells and put a bunch of them out there every two or three days and it's helped keep the little devils away from the bird feeder. I've watched them out there. They grab a bunch of peanuts and bury them all over the yard and by the time they're done they have no use for the bird seed. It may not work for everyone but it worked for me. I figure if someone has the money to buy bird seed, which can get quite expensive, then they can probably afford to buy bags of peanuts which are actually cheaper than the seed. Just my two cents. By the way my cats won't play with any toys I buy them either they prefer playing with beer bottle caps and the little plastic things that come off orange juice bottles.

For your squirrel issue: my family uses cayenne pepper (like the powder) on the trees. It deters squirrels without hurting them, but it doesn’t effect birds, so you’ll still have them. They don’t like the smell. Love your videos!
Good for you with picking what you love over a relationship. The right person will support you and not want you to quit everything. I’ve learned that also.
I specifically looked for a feeder easy for squirrels to use. I put it out on the patio for the cat and dog to watch, sort of like Squirrel TV. The cat and dog sit by the sliding glass door while waiting for their meals and watch the squirrels. They're more entertaining to the boys than the birds are. And the squirrels are freaking smart. They use their little hands to open the top of the feeder and knock it on it's side. I get a kick out of watching them jump from tree to tree, onto a roof, down to the lawn and making a b-line to the feeder. Frankly, watching the squirrels is the only thing my cat and dog do together that doesn't involve them jockeying for position on the dog bed. Okay, so I did used to have a more exciting life. 😊

I'm in a similar situation right now and not only did I get comfort through ASMR, I got a lot more then I knew I would. I appreciate you sharing your story. I can appreciate his point of view. I love how you prioritized yourself and didn't get rid of what you care about just to stay in a relationship. More people should do that. The right person for you will have a life that fits with yours. My husband and I work because we've always lived the same way and wanted the same things. Our favorite thing is spending time together, so we do that above most other things. But that would drive some people crazy!!! Everyone is different. Your squirrel problem reminds me of my toddlers favorite book called, "Those darn squirrels!" About and old man who likes feeding birds in his backyard but the squirrels always eat all the food so he keeps trying more and more elaborate mechanisms to keep the squirrels from being able to get to the feeders and the squirrels find elaborate ways around them. It's super cute

I wish I’d had your clarity of self when my two children were younger. I felt like I’d “failed” at marriage with my first husband, their father, so rushed into another marriage for the chance to make it right. I assumed that if I was happy, my children should be too. In hindsight, I wish I’d waited to date until they were older. Both are well-adjusted adults now - and my second marriage lasted seven years before we both realized we’d gone into it for the wrong reasons. You have my respect for following your instincts!

(And I'm not attacking him; I used to be an insecure person to and that was MY line of thinking; though I made an effort to not do that to the point where not doing it is second nature to me.) We have squirrels on our feeders, as well! I’ve just come to embrace them. They need to eat, too :) I also throw the seeds through the grass so there’s no climbing and all the birds/squirrels etc. can just go through and get what they want. It’s really cool to see all the wildlife come into the yard.

Ps you could freeze individual slices of that big cake in plastic wrap and then anytime you or the boys feel like a treat, you can take out a slice :) do that all the time!
Mary, good for you. More woman need to do this. As woman, moms and wives we always put everyone and everything else first. My son's autistic, my one and only child, and my life revolves around him and for 18 yrs my ex who never did a thing for me. So now I'm remarried to a man who gets along great with my son, and ex.....i made sure we were all friends for my sons sake, and my new hubby has his life revolve around me and my son and its just amazing. So here's to you finding a man who revolves his life around yours because its high time us women get back what we always put in!!!!

Feel as you do in cemeteries. To me they are very peaceful and calm. I enjoy to walk trough them, read head stones, and even de-weed graves and pick up trash. By the time I leave I am stress free.
I had the squirrel issue as well! I bought a bird feeder that is squirrel proof, every time a squirrel hops on the top of the feeder comes down blocking the hole to the bird seed. You can purchase these at Wild Birds Unlimited. I felt bad for the squirrels so I would just leave moldy bread on the ground for them. Another solution is buying sewet. It's a type of bird food that comes in a block and is held together by a grease type substance. I noticed are not to fond of it! Hope this works...... !!!! :)

One suggestion (out of love) have you ever considered putting a collar and tag on your cat that likes to venture outside... just in case she ever wanders off a little far? Just in case no one has said it, magazines will often send free copies for multiple reasons: so they can say they have x number of subscribers, you might have been subscribed to another magazine so they’re trying to advertise to you, they’re looking at neighborhood demographics, etc. You can go online and search for your customer information and it will show your “subscription,” which you can cancel.

I am really glad you picked what was important to you and your kids, that is VERY IMPORTANT. I love your house and it was really exciting to see the set up of your library video. I LOVE THAt one and it is my go to a lot. The squrill problem is a pain. I hop the oil worked. I have a window that is two stories up , because of my basement, and it has a flat feeder for the birds. One day I watched a squrril ( i don't know how to spell that) so I watched as that critter climbed the chimney and then jumped to get on that feeder. Ot was amazing and a little depressing lol. The cat clock is so cute, and your room is so big mine is pretty small. I was sorry to see that you have disabled the comments in your newer videos. So sorry you had to do that because of nasty people. I remember in an older video you said you were thinking of not doing youtube because of the bad comments. Thank you for not stopping this it really helps me get to sleep. I am glad you are happy in your new house and that you are now debt free. I really hope you were able to get your car. Hate when somebody comes into our life and it's always about them. Like why cant they just chill & go with the flow... your flow? You made the right decision. We have squirrels on our feeders, as well! I’ve just come to embrace them. They need to eat, too :) I also throw the seeds through the grass so there’s no climbing and all the birds/squirrels etc. can just go through and get what they want. It’s really cool to see all the wildlife come into the yard.

Mary, good for you. More woman need to do this. As woman, moms and wives we always put everyone and everything else first. My son's autistic, my one and only child, and my life revolves around him and for 18 yrs my ex who never did a thing for me. So now I'm remarried to a man who gets along great with my son, and ex.....i made sure we were all friends for my sons sake, and my new hubby has his life revolve around me and my son and its just amazing. So here's to you finding a man who revolves his life around yours because its high time us women get back what we always put in!!!!

Feel as you do in cemeteries. To me they are very peaceful and calm. I enjoy to walk trough them, read head stones, and even de-weed graves and pick up trash. By the time I leave I am stress free.

I had the squirrel issue as well! I bought a bird feeder that is squirrel proof, every time a squirrel hops on the top of the feeder comes down blocking the hole to the bird seed. You can purchase these at Wild Birds Unlimited. I felt bad for the squirrels so I would just leave moldy bread on the ground for them. Another solution is buying sewet. It's a type of bird food that comes in a block and is held together by a grease type substance. I noticed are not to fond of it! Hope this works...... !!!! :)

Just in case no one has said it, magazines will often send free copies for multiple reasons: so they can say they have x number of subscribers, you might have been subscribed to another magazine so they’re trying to advertise to you, they’re looking at neighborhood demographics, etc. You can go online and search for your customer information and it will show your “subscription,” which you can cancel.

I am really glad you picked what was important to you and your kids, that is VERY IMPORTANT. I love your house and it was really exciting to see the set up of your library video. I LOVE THAt one and it is my go to a lot. The squrill problem is a pain. I hop the oil worked. I have a window that is two stories up , because of my basement, and it has a flat feeder for the birds. One day I watched a squrril ( i don't know how to spell that) so I watched as that critter climbed the chimney and then jumped to get on that feeder. Ot was amazing and a little depressing lol. The cat clock is so cute, and your room is so big mine is pretty small. I was sorry to see that you have disabled the comments in your newer videos. So sorry you had to do that because of nasty people. I remember in an older video you said you were thinking of not doing youtube because of the bad comments. Thank you for not stopping this it really helps me get to sleep. I am glad you are happy in your new house and that you are now debt free. I really hope you were able to get your car.
