      Hi Nina - This is always a fun day in the studio. I really like testing new stamps on scraps and getting good results. Buying used is sometimes a gamble. And that owl set was just too cute to pass up!

    I love how you have used the scraps up! So many presenters have "scraps" that simply aren't scraps - by a long shot

      Thanks Julie - LOL - I have thought the same thing about "scraps". To me there is a difference in a scrap and piece of cut paper. But to each their own...

    You are full of good ideas. This one will be helpful in whittling down my own stash of strips. I like the owl card the best, as it reminds me of my late mother, who loved all things "owl." That background stamp would make a great abstract Christmas tree. Thanks for the continual inspiration you provide.

    • @SeniorSusieStamps
      @SeniorSusieStamps  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Lucy! I thought the same thing about that abstract stamp!! Beware - these cards can be a bit addicting - so do all your sentiment stamping first because you may end up without any white strips leftover!!

      Hi Gigi! This is a great way to test new to you stamps! And keeping those white scraps wrangled at the same time is a big bonus. Since I started timing my scrap clean out with coversheet prep, it really works well.

      That’s a great idea regarding the new stamps. 😊
      My scraps are stored in plastic lidded containers by strip size, so that should make it easier just to sit and create.

    Hey there Julia, I loved the usage of your half inch scraps, and such a clever idea making them into a background. Those owl stamps are wacky and cute, and I had to laugh at the owl stamp that you chose for your card as it looks a little alien especially with his two antennae. The daisy and pink flower cards would have to be my favourite, but they all are lovely even the cute little alien card...LOL!!!
    I just checked all my alcohol markers (Spectrum Noir Tri-blends) and noticed that some of the lighter colours were getting a little dry. I never would have thought to refresh them with a little alcohol... "thank you, Julia." 🩷 Hopefully that will work for mine as well. Actually, I saw my little bottle of alcohol in my craft studio the other day, and I wondered why I had bought it as I can't remember the reason for me purchasing it in the first place. At least now I have a purpose for it now thanks to you.
    Have a blessed day, and with lots of love. 🤗🌷🩷

      @SeniorSusieStamps  หลายเดือนก่อน

      G'Day Gloria - Those antennae cracked me up! And you are right they do look a bit alien LOL. Now, about the alcohol - don't expect much more than a few minutes use by dipping the nib. You may need to dip several times in a session. Sometimes if you have enough alcohol in the resevoir you can tip the chisel point in at an angle and see air bubbles come out of the pen body. Then you know you are actually getting alcohol into the ink reservoir, and it lasts longer. I always store my markers flat - do you? I also use alcohol to remove pigment inks and then do a glycerin water rinse on those stamps. And, I use it to clean my desk mat - it really does a good job at de-gunking things. God's Blessings to you my Friend!

      @@SeniorSusieStamps Hey Julia, yes, I do store my alcohol markers flat. Just recently I tested them all and have made swatches so I can find the colour/s that I need more easily, as it is difficult to judge the colour on the side of the marker or on the box!
      Have a lovely and blessed day. 🩷

    Julia, I have a curious TH-cam question that I'm wondering if you can answer.
    When I leave comments on a video, sometimes other people "Like" my comments. It got me wondering if you as the TH-camr see that. I always thought if they are "Liking" and the TH-camr doesn't see that then it's kind of too bad in a way cuz I comment cuz I have enjoyed what I've watched and don't really care if others "Like" my comments. Just curious and today's the day I'm finally getting around to asking. ❤ 🇨🇦 😊

    • @SeniorSusieStamps
      @SeniorSusieStamps  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi B - I don't see the likes on comments unless I happen to go back into the comments and notice them. There isn't anyway for me to tell who likes them. I look at it this way - someone liked your comment which tells me they thought the same thing. So I take it as a twofer! Some people will go ahead and comment as well as read all the rest of the comments and like what they agree with. Make sense?

    • @maureenmahurin1673
      @maureenmahurin1673 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SeniorSusieStamps I do this sometimes on the videos because I like to see what other people added to the conversation. Sometimes the comment sections are filled with golden nuggets of info, like tips and tricks. It's always fun to see which card(s) everyone liked too! I will definitely give a comment a like if I agree with that they wrote or appreciate a suggestion they have made.
