I’m in the middle of watching episode five. Totally not gonna give away anything except for one thing hold on tight because this is getting even better also no worries about what’s happening at the vaults. If you thought it was slow get ready it’s gonna get good.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 I made a terrible mistake. I started watching episodes ahead instead of keeping track with when you guys are doing your reviews and I cannot stop. I have to watch this all the way through oh my God this is getting deeper and deeper and deeper every episode.
no kidding! This is one of the lore changes from Bethesda that I'm onboard with: start with the ghouls in Nuka World and now this. Still doesn't explain Billy the fridge kid tho...
Matt Berry as the voice of Mr.Handy is just a chefs kiss to this show. That man could read the side of a milk carton and I'd still die laughing. When he said "I'm just going to harvest your organs." 😂 He is also amazing in "What we do in the shadows" as well.
You know what I’ve realized about Maximus up to this point although he’s an adult, he still that little boy looking for a way to protect himself from the world. I thought he was a sociopath, but he’s not that he’s just a little boy who doesn’t understand.
🎉♥️ I would just like to say thank you for everyone for the likes. I don’t think I’ve ever had these many likes on any comment I’ve ever made on any of the channels. I follow so thank you so much. I personally appreciate it.😋
Walton goggins portrayal of the ghoul is perfect! Like a visual blend of red skull and deadpool!! And his personality of a no fucks given gunslinger is just awesome to watch! Great reaction as always gents
The Mr.Handy part was a little bit of fallout irony where a robot will kill you to harvest your organs but treats you with respect and good manners lol. Similar to the “please remain calm” sign on the turret shooting at the scientist and the dog.
3:12 🎉🎉🎉🎉 I give you gigantic props Greg for quickly, realizing that’s exactly what he was doing, giving him a pleasant memory before he blew his head off
Lucy's line delivery of "Golden Rule Motherf***er" is my favorite of the entire season. Her graduation to being a legit Wasteland Wanderer. Love the character so much.
Some people were cnfused about Shady Sands and its place in the timeline, but they show got it right. The nuke happened AFTER the fall of shady sands in 2277, there's an arrow between the text and mushroom cloud. The fall is likely just a decline in the city's importance, we know the NCR was spread thin and in bad shape during New Vegas. Lucy and Maximus appear to be in their early 20s, so the bombing likely happened somewhere between 2280 and 2286, with the show being set in 2296.
@@bluewhitespartan5258 Heck I know people that think before the war with the bombs in general, it was the year 1950. It's like no, it's the future with a 50s style. lol
If you’re gonna have your organs harvested at least it’s from Lazlo from What We Do In The Shadows. Also, now with the leather pauldron, pads, and bracers, Lucy is now truly ready for the post apocalypse.
19:06 I love the fact that she showed him compassion and then right after that oh you see is he’s like an addict. He’s like we’re trying to get as much drugs pumped into as possible because he’s a goal and he’s dying. He doesn’t wanna change so he’s just gonna pump as much as he can, dammit I love this🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
7:00 Greg says "I love how she [Lucy] does things just for survival, but he [Cooper] does things because it's fun". Remember the end of episode 1? Cooper Howard/the Ghoul says "I do this sh*t for love of the game". Greg, you nailed the reference perfectly.
People who love horror and mystery will love Fallout. The show hasn't even introduced the lovecraftian horror aspects in the game. Those weird paranormal side quests.
13:58 the biggest tragedy in this episode for me are the ghouls because of the fact that they still have their humanity most of them but just as time goes on it just slowly slowly goes away and it’s so heartbreaking if they were just straight up zombies that’s one thing but you still see them. They’re still human they just, look like ghouls
Greg actually nailed something that makes the games so enjoyable. It relies a lot on visual and environmental storytelling, allowing your imagination to tell what’s going on. This show has done a great job recreating that feeling of the game lol
I agree with you. The environmental storytelling is the thing that I also loved most in Fallout 4. Many players hate 4 because it reduced a lot in the rpg aspect and is considered more an action/shooting-game than an rpg. You have less dialog choices and Preston Garvey should be feeded to a death claw. And too many fetch quests, too few unique queer characters. And bla bla bla (insert here whatever you dislike about FO4). But imo it does not deserve the bad reputation it has among "old school"-Fallout players (like me, played fallout since the 90s). The world map design and the amount of unique scenes (like the environmental storytelling aspect) is almost overwhelming if you open your eyes. But thats just my humble opinion. I am a sucker for this kind of stuff get mad when I watch a Fallout LP and the player loots everything away without even noticing the story this little items-arrangement just told you ;)
I totally agree with your comparison to Game of Thrones. This show is just as phenomenal. Lucy and The Ghoul really give me Arya and the Hound vibes. Their pairing is necessary for Lucy’s growth and survival.
I feel like the parallel at the end flew right by you two. You focused on him being against violence in the movie, but the point was that he became the villain from the movie. Ugly, Strong, and no Dignity. Which paired with Lucy's interactions sets him up to redeem himself.
Hey! Thanks so much for the kind words! Sending you a virtual Stimpak, an ice cold Nuka-Cola, and a delicious can of CRAM while you recover! Stay sane and thanks for being part of the Reject Nation ❤️
So far, they've done such a great job on this show. My only complaint is the lack of looting. Lol I've played so much of fallout that it's ingrained in me to loot everything.
The guy who plays Lucy’s brother is an actor I haven’t seen in almost 10 years since he was in the movie Enders Game, and that was a staple of my childhood
When I watched this episode myself as soon as I've seen Mister Handy I knew she's in danger because I played the games and it's always the same with them with one exception being Codsworth but even he's a bit off too. They always go crazy on you in the end.
15:07 well I’m liking up to this point is the fact that Lucy is doing what she can to survive. She may not like it but she’s doing it because her goal is to get to her father so she will do but it’s a struggle.
17:03 you guys are right I was thinking about it when you said it and I was backtracking in my head the previous episodes up to now and yes, Martha is her first actual kill because she has tranquilized everyone else
14:05 by the way may I say the writing on the show is so good that I have not realized how much time has gone by and I am so into it that we’re practically at the end of the episode already and I want so much more
The video playing in the other vault with the mice was describing the "mouse utopia" experiment where mice were given an ideal living environment "mouse heaven" and they breed to the point that they descend into mouse hell.
Best episode to this point for sure. The opening of the show was also a huge highlight for me. This is just almost perfect, I'm so pleasantly surprised.
