I'm so grateful for the amazing fall weather we have had, but I have now likely run out of good weather to do a 3 day bike trip in BC. Oh well, it was a great summer and fall!
@@AliceFordAdventures we were having summer weather up until around a week ago! I'm so spoiled to want more : ) Yes, I can do this bike trip idea next year, but I'd love to try it at this time of year. I think the peacefulness and solitude around one of the lakes would be amazing.
I love historical small towns and this one is for sure inviting. I reside north of Montana and Idaho is a four hour drive from here. Awesome scenery, a healthy second growth forest all around, nothing beats a cold beer after a hike. It would be a perilous journey to travel back in time and explore but if I had an option I would be going to a time when my ancestors arrived in Canada in 1665. I would greet them right off the boat on the shore of what is known today as Nova Scotia. 😎🍺⚜️🇨🇦♉️🌲
Wow that would be a fascinating time. There is a great book about to Frenchman indentured servants that are sent to North Western Canada in the 1500s if I think of it I’ll let you know because it’s really interesting read
Looks like a great place to visit. Not sure your actual time going through there but a girl motorcycle traveler I follow (Itchy Boots) was through that area on her way to Alaska and it looked like a cool place to hang out.
Really enjoying this series on Northern Idaho. Having never been there, it's educational. The outdoor activities are inviting. I read recently that forest fires in the west, namely California, often lead to smoke in northern Idaho. Having experienced that occurrence during my last trip to Yellowstone, it's not something I want to experience again. Also curious about the communities and what they have to offer. Being a coach of football, baseball, etc. and being an athlete myself who plays softball, bowling, etc. are there many opportunities there? Picked a bushel of apples today at a local farm. The topography there is beautiful, but is the soil good for cultivation? Any farmer's markets? Love picking veggies and herbs from my own garden.
Thanks Jason. If you’re looking to more community you will certainly like Sandpoint and Post Falls more as the towns are bigger and offer more activities and farmers markets. I would imagine the soil is fine but growing season is short
I thought to myself after the intro...I don't think of Alice as a golfer (when would you find the time?), but also not surprised how fast you picked it up, because you are in good shape and have to have good eye/hand coordination to do all of those stunts.
Much of the Great Lakes area had been burned over after the logging was done in the 1860s -1900s by stray embers from trains as being one of the causes. I still have never gone golfing, but i do enjoy miniature golfing.
If I remember correctly this fire season in 1910 also swept across much of Illinois and Michigan. It is pretty crazy to see so much of the forest with just the same kind and size of tree.
It was the worst fire not just because of acreage burned but because it changed the forest service tactics to fire suppression, which is what is making the california fires worse today. Forests need to burn on a regular basis or they end up having much more dangerous fires because of all the fuel built up.
If you could go back in time to explore a new pace, where would you go and when? I would go to the Pyramids in Egypt in 400 BC
I just saw a documentary on a national park in Croatia that looked awesome
The Viking era around the 9th century …
I would go to when the ice age was and live amoung mammoths. that sounds epic.
@Your Planet Are you looking for hot springs or places to source water?
That would be very interesting, hmmm... 🤔
Idaho is great! Thank you for wonderful tours! I want to watch and listen to you endlessly ))) Alice, you are an amazing woman!❤️❤️❤️

I Can imagine it must be spectacular right now. I’m home in LA and we don’t really have fall weather

If you liked this you should try Myra Canyon just south of Kelowna BC, gorgeous views over the semi arid landscape and some train trestles to boot.
Hello great movie very nice mounted ;)
Thank you
Thank you for sharing.

That would be great Alice. Email me, and having a book cover picture would also help. Many thanks.... I am a bookworm. 😊
Cool video!
Thanks!

Oh yes I watched her video too. It may have been around the same time as many of the high passes still had snow when I was there too

Awesome, great stuff! Egypt about 2000 BC to see how it really happens?
Ooh great choice
Great content I’m trying to buy a parcel in osburn

Yes exactly it’s a but slow for me in pace but a good pastime overall

nice video and ride. That was not that muddy though!
Not that muddy? Haha well for me it was
Alice your even beautiful when your muddy, thanks for the video
Thank you
Similar, but I would have to go way earlier than that to see the pyramids being built.

Agreed!!!
The Milwaukee Road
Should be for what they charge!!!!
The tip of your nose is the center of the Universe.
Indeed it is hahah
why are you by yourself .. u are gorgeous
Worst fire in 1910. Tell that to California!
Yep well that’s what historians say, but maybe it wouldn’t stand up to the recent CA fires
Then the mystery would be solved as to how they were built. Ruin a bunch book writers careers
