- DIY Restoration Hardware and CB2 inspired concrete coffee table.
Here I'm showing you how I made this coffee table step by step. I'm actually superrrrrr happy with the results!
I've also put the wood cutting size guide at the end of the video.
What you need:
2x2 Lumber
4'x4'x1/4" plywood

Did wood absorb any moisture from wet cement? I have a convern about that

I love this idea i need mines twice that height. Should I just maybe make the table taller or add legs.
I would say make it taller by cutting the lumbers longer.

Glad you liked it! I used 2-1/2" for the lumbers and 1" for connecting plywood to the lumbers.

The table looks great I’d be interested to learn how durable it turns out.
Considering that only the equivalent of a veneer of cement was used I would hardly call it a concrete table.
It's durable, but it needs a good care as well. The durability also depends on the cement mixtures. The thinner ones tend to crack and fall off, while the thicker ones are more durable

Thank you! The cement falls off occasionally so I've repaired some spots so far. But apart from that, it's been great!

That’s so awesome! What did you do in the cracks you had with the thin mix? I’m making a similar table and it’s been a nightmare to deal with all the cracks!
For me, the sides with the thick mixture ended up with minor cracks and once you apply the waterguard there'd be nothing to worry about. But the cements on the side with the thin mixture fell apart just recently, so I had to redo it.
Is it Microcemenent?
No this is regular. But that might be a better option

Hows it held up and what does it weigh about?
It's pretty steady, wood base with cement cover. Don't really know the exact weight. It feels even less than 20 Ib.

@@AmeeyahWil Like I said in the video, the side with the thin mixture ended up with lots of cracks, so I had to redo that side. But the other sides with the thick mixture, ended up pretty well.
@@byfarnaz and this video was also 7 months ago so like I said I wanted to know how it was still holding up.
@@AmeeyahWil About three months ago, the cement on the side with the thin mixture (with cracks) started to fall off. So I had to take the whole cement off from that side and redo it with a thicker mixture. But the other sides still look pretty good after a year.
So its a cement table...... Concrete = cement + sand + aggregate.
