  • FIRST LOOK: The Corsair is the smallest SUV from Lincoln. For 2023 there are some big changes. On the outside you will discover new lighting, grill, and wheels. On the inside there is a refreshed interior, digital gauge cluster and new materials. Under the hood is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 that produces 250HP & is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Is the NEW 2023 Lincoln Corsair a BETTER luxury SUV than a Genesis GV70?

The A-pillar looks a little odd to me - either leave it white, or make everything above the belt line black. Also the chrome on the rear, though small, would look better blacked out. All in all though I'd consider trading my mkz for it.

Ordered the Pristine White with the Jet Appearance Package Wednesday, May 31st; the vehicle arrived at chosen dealership Thursday, July 27th, and I took delivery Friday, August 4th. This is my 4th Lincoln (2015 MKC, 2018 MKZ, 2020 Corsair) and now the 2023 Corsair AKA (Ghost) who thus far has exceeded my expectations on every level. Is it perfect? Absolutely Not! However, it's sooooooooo freakin close. The aesthetics in person is FIRE, the ride is smooth as soft BUTTER, and OMG, don't let me get started on the 20-inch wheels which showcase an aggressive stance. Anyway, I'm not here to persuade you to buy a Corsair, but if you're thinking about it or on the fence, I would challenge you to head to your local Lincoln dealership for a test-drive and if they don't have what you're seeking, like burger king, have it your way and order the Corsair to your specifications.

The GV70 is a tad more upscale and in a different class. In all honesty, the 2.3 should have been the base with the 2.7tt as an option for a Black Label. The materials are nicer than it's first gen MKC and the update is in the right direction. I personally hated the unpainted arches and diffusers on the 2020-2022 Corsair. I'm glad they changed that. And for the wheels, excellent! I'd put those on my Continental since it's the same bolt pattern.

While this may appeal to longtime Lincoln buyers, anyone who knows a little bit about what the Koreans are doing when it comes to luxury (Genesis) knows the Corsair doesn’t compare. Yes, the exterior looks the part, and the interior is fairly competitive, but you begin to find the faults when you begin to touch things. Hard and shiny plastic everywhere. I’d put my money in Genesis any day. Thanks, Joe!

I was stationed in Korea and last month before I left the wife and I sat inside the GV70. It’s no comparison honestly. Genesis is winning by a landslide.

    • @58HUSTLER
      @58HUSTLER 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@DL_1987 Yeah, I think the problem is the comparison itself isn't quite fair. To me, you'd want to compare this with a Lexus, Infiniti, Acura, etc. My GV70 has a twin turbo making 375 hp, not anywhere in the same ballpark, and as you said, the interior is no comparison. Of course, I did have to pay about 5 - 6 grand more to get it, so that should be said as well.
Not taking anything away from it per say, it's a nice vehicle. And to be honest, I'd love to own an Aviator Grand Touring.

Yeah, Lincoln appeals to the brand loyal but not so much to anyone else. Their fit and finish is abysmal. No better than the Ford it is based on. It's why they couldn't sell the Continental.

I love my 2020; and this '23 takes it up more than a notch! But I'm also glad that; other than the grill and screen; it's very similar, and thus mine doesn't feel quite as dated just yet. And FYI, while on an Escape chasis, it's a totally different vehicle in almost every other aspect. Lower, wider, w/wrap-around tail gate, as well as better mechanicals, engines, etc. I'm 6'3" and it fits me like a glove. Corsair is a great little SUV.

Once again, thank you to Lori for always making the car looks it's best (and Joe!). Joe, thank you for another great review! I love that Lincoln made a smaller version of their best looking SUV! Wish more manufacturers would do that.
I really liked the Corsair. Even did a test drive and was prepared to place my order for the 2023. But then I got on the Lincoln Owners Forum and FB. Also spoke with people who own them (and yes, I will approach strangers in a parking lot and ask them how they like their Lincoln, etc.). Totally changed my mind. From what I've read it's best to buy two so you have a back-up for when the other is in the shop for repairs no one seems to know how to do. If you're a Corsair owner, please feel fee to change my mind! Really love the car, but don't want the apparent aggravation I've read so much about.

I can’t speak on the Corsair but I owned an MKC (the previous model) and currently own a Nautilus and haven’t had any major issues with either. I think being a luxury vehicle people are more inclined to complain about small things, additionally on the owners forum generally people don’t post when they aren’t having issues so it seems very skewed.
I can say I’ve loved both Lincoln’s that I’ve had and thought they were worth every penny.

@@travisdahms5870 Thank you for your input. I don't recall the exact ratios, but it's something like this..a customer who has a negative experience will likely leave a bad review/share their bad experience. However, a customer who has a positive experience is unlikely to take time to write a positive review. Probably because happiness is not filled with fury! 🔥

Very nice looking vehicle, but personally I'm not into the push-button transmission, huge nav screen jutting up from the dash, and the shiny black plastic and chrome. Not happy that they ditched the 2.3L engine for 2023, either. Being the old man that I am, though, I'd probably still go for this over the larger Genesis. 20 years ago, though--no way! 🙂

Another great review, Joe. This is actually the exact Corsair I am ordering, just as soon as the Order Banks open shortly. And those 24-way position seats are amazing,....they wrap you like a fine custom leather glove, my friend. And unfortunately, Lincoln did drop the highest 295 h.p. engine for 2023, in favor of the base 250 h.p. engine, which is really disappointing. But, still ordering this Jet Package model with the Red interior, and going to add an aftermarket high performance 60 h.p. Chip, so the final horsepower at 310 h.p. I will be able to live with!!!! Looking forward to your On Throttle review. B

Great design but I just wish they wouldn’t do an all black wheel on a luxury vehicle. I know it’s a black package but I think the wheels would maybe look better as a two-tone. Maybe like a silver (not chrome) but a silver with black accents instead? They’ve got so many spokes that could see some being black and others silver or something. 🤨

Just test drove a 2023 Corsair for the Mrs. just before she the got the 2023 Nautilus Reserve 2.7 two days ago. She noticed the rattle in the dash that goes away when she pushes on the padding below the infotainment. And the two silver dollar sheet metal flaws on the passenger door that are pushing through the metallic paint. So we get bring it back and deal with fixing those over the next few months. She loves it and it’s unbelievably comfortable with those seats!
I had a 2022 Genesis GV70 3.5t for 32k miles and traded that in on a 2023 Genesis G80 2.5t Sport Prestige at Christmas. Both have been flawless in fit and finish and performance with no pain in the ass warranty work needed like the newly designed BMW 4 series I dumped after 7 months.
Sorry but the comparison of the Corsair to the Genesis is silly and unfair, Genesis and it’s really not close.
