Reminder that they are also NOT beginner pets. They are not easy to own. They are a lifelong committment, some types of parrots can live as long as a human being, so if you choose to take one home, you must have a plan in place if they outlive you, especially if you adopt a baby. They have the mental age of a toddler, so not only do they need whats talked about in the video, they need SO much time invested. They're like adopting a small child that stays small for 70 years. They're also loud, can bite, scratch, and destroy things for stimulation, so you have to parrot proof your house or dedicate them their own room as you cannot keep them in their cage for more than overnight + 1 or 2 hours. They are wonderful animals, and this video touches on their positives a lot! Just make sure you do your research if you decide to adopt one, and be prepared for a serious lifelong committment to your feathery friend ❤
I'm so glad to see this important information about keeping a parrot. So many videos on here, extolling the virtues of homing a companion bird, promote them as just fun and cute. But they miss out the important fact that they are a massive commitment, akin to having a permanent toddler in your home.
@@TheTruthHz Every video "on here" is a Xerox copy of what you just wrote, including the part where you accuse other imaginary videos of promoting "misinformation." I wonder if you would have memorized and bothered to parrot out these utterly unhelpful, inane, finger-wagging truisms if they didn't give you the opportunity to point at someone else to call them inferior, and by extension proclaim yourself superior, to an imaginary straw man you've created that certain authoritative sources repeatedly claim to be real, even if they're not. But I'm so glad that you're so glad.
The attention thing is really important. I'm giving away my cocktiels (that I rised since they were babies) this week because the environment is not right for them and they deserve better. It breaks my heart but it's the right thing to do.
Giving away you birds will be very hard for you but it will be even harder for your birds. I have a Rainbow Lorikeet and I believe he remembers his whole life, everything that has ever happened to him. He remembers being a baby bird, he remembers living with other people, he remembers everything. He remembers that someone let him get sunburned because he has always been afraid of sunshine on his body, ever since I have had him; he runs away from the sun.
@@dummy2027wow I had no idea they can get sunburnt. I recently adopted a rainbow lorikeet from a petland that was shutting down for so many violations for free 4 days before they shut down. They were trying to get me to take more (they had probably 20ish) but I already have a caique and conure and only room for one. They gave me no paperwork or info. I assumed he was around a year bc his beak was fully red & eyes where the orange but when I took him to boarding a month ago they decoded his band and he’s actually almost 4!! 😢 I don’t think petland had had them more than a few months it makes me so sad thinking of what the first 4 years have been for him. I feel bad I couldn’t take more but I’m glad at least he wasn’t sent to some other terrible place. I wish I could find out where he actually came from.
I am in my 50's and fairly busy working from home. my perfect bird was the Sparrow I found 10 years ago as a hatchling that fell out of the nest. Sparrows are not very demanding at all but will sit near you all day long and will welcome a little head rub but not demand anything from you except food and water. These Parrots would be a bit much for me.
They are also known for their nasty nipping habit when they are not raised properly, and sometimes even when they are. Anything with a beak will bite you sooner or later, and look at that beak! Not a beginner bird. Still adorable though
This video really fails to sell how difficult a pet birds like these really are. They're long lived, extremely intelligent, extremely destructive, mega LOUD, and they bite, hard. Seriously if you have a fear of being bitten at all, do NOT get a parrot. They can and will easily draw blood, often without warning, unlike other animals. You cannot train this out of them, unlike other species. Birds are just extremely impulsive like hyped up bitey toddlers.
More likely than not, it's just a coincidence. Google gave me two answers on where the name comes from: either from the tupi word for "aquatic bird", or they were named after the turkish boat due to similar traits.
I have a caique named Doug, he sure is an eccentric little guy. Such fun for people to be around him as he loves to preform

Energy from sun up to su down, guaranteed.
Adorable!! ❤
The way they walk around
Possibly more suitable in non-western countries/societies where there's more constant family and social life centered around the home.

True. You can even see a bite mark in the video!
I feel like 99 percent of pets are said not to be beginner pets

The machine gun head bob is 👌
Lol!! Yay at least its the Semites that have the machine guns this round
Also to mention, they cost around 600€-2000€
Where gonna get 1 of them
It's the extrovert with ADHD.
Social Butterfies 🦋
Good sir that’s a mango
Do they bond exclusively? Would a visiting sauky Caique care giver work? Or it's basically owner presence 24/7
They love everyone, good for crowds and a lot of people.

PLEASE DONT USE A LEG CHAIN ON PARROTS! THEYRE MADE FOR BIRDS WITH STRONGER LEGS AND WILL BREAK PARROT LEGS
Called what?

@@NoGood999 😂😂😂😂😂 haha that’s fkn hilarious
Hi lol
When Candace Owens sees these birds she shouts “Christ is King!”.
I had tol Google the name of this parrot because it sounds exactly like a very anti-semetic word
Wooahhh, what'd the bird do to deserve being called that? 😂 And in the middle of the conflict in Israel and Gaza how rude 🤣
✡️😂 That's what I call them too

Ich möchte keine Vögel mehr haben. CHRISTA ist das klar
Careful how you pronounce that name.
No I won't Be careful Since I don't care About offending anybody who would be named that slur
Did you just admit to being antisemitic@@NoGood999?
