He gave the whole game away at the end. Chiropractic "treatment" is just about making your spine make noises like when you crack your knuckles. It sounds impressive, but it does nothing.

    • @jmxc8278
      @jmxc8278 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Not what he said. Basically to put it short the audible pop you hear when 'cracking' your knuckles etc is due to a cavitation within a joint; which is the rapid increase and decrease in pressure within the synovial fluid of a joint. Although people enjoy this sound and may correlate this as the treatment being successful, there is no evidence that currently suggests this audible pop creates a successful treatment. It is just something that happens during treatment, a byproduct of treatment that just creates a satisfying sound.

@@jmxc8278 I've wasted enough money on chiropractic treatments to know that chiropractors count on the popping sound to make it seem like something is happening. I've never once been told by a chiropractor that the popping means nothing, even though we all know that it's that sound and feeling that makes you believe something real has happened. It's a parlour trick. After spending thousands on treatments for my back pain that never got better, I realized I'd been duped and I turned to yoga, which fixed me right up.
I had a similar experience with traditional Chinese medicine. I saw a practitioner for a couple of years (more thousands) for my intestinal troubles. Sometimes it would get a bit better, but it wouldn't last. Then I saw a western doctor. Within the first minute of talking to him, he rolled his eyes and told me I just needed to take Metamucil. So I did. Fixed me with the first dose.
      I'm just saying.

@@milou66 Glad you were able to finally find the answer to your issues and find comfort! And tell me about it, really rubs me the wrong way that there are a category of chiropractors which do that. Its just pure negligence on their part. Science is science and individuals with the title should treat using evidence-based practise with the intention of helping people and not just drawing them in to make money. It really does disappoint me that the chiropractors you've seen cling onto this fixation that the popping sound is essential to treatment and means something. At the end of the day like you've said its just wasted your money due to their negligence in not saying to visit an actual medical doctor for further evaluation.

A couple of hours later: you scream in agony and angry as hell at them because you wished they had never touched you because the pain you feel is more intensified that you can't move and have to be in bed for the rest of the night and then the next day you're drained and then go through the same cycle of being adjusted three to four times a week! Then the worst part is that you tell them what happens and then they said it's going to take time for you not to feel pain but keep coming back or they say, " no pain, no game!" More like "no pain, no pay!" You are better off going to a massage therapist, a physical therapist, an orthopedic or even a neurosurgeon!

  • @davidballard6443

I love the more technical explanation of the "crack". So, as you move a joint to its end range of motion, you get a separation of joint surfaces that are sealed within the synovial joint cavity. As the synovium is pulled apart, it creates a vacuous negative pressure on the joint fluid. If you drop that pressure low enough, the boiling point of water meets the human body temperature and the joint goes "pop" because all of the synovial fluid instantaneously boils not because of a change in temperature, but a change in pressure. That altitude density equates to roughly 52,000'. So, if you were to remain liquid and not freeze solid at 52,000 in the air, your blood would boil right out of your body!

      JUST TERRIBLE.
Finding one in the US is like pulling teeth.
I've only ever come across one osteo who actually helped me in Windsor. The rest in Toronto & one overseas made me feel well for that day, but nothing was ever permanent.
Oh, & I had one overseas who did such a great job with my colon that I have a perfect BM literally right after that in his bathroom which was strange & he didn't even think he could help me with my digestive issues. SMH.
Do you know how hard it is for me to have a perfect BM LOL
The one in Windsor had magic hands.
The one overseas he changed his hours so I could never go back to him. I was seeing a woman & when she started telling me to go see a whitecoat for my health issues, I lost all faith in her.
Holistic practitioners should NOT be telling you to go to low IQ dangerous whitecoats. sigh

Nice vid doc. As for "subluxation"... the term should be dumped. In the Palmers' day, it was fine. In fact, it seemed quite plausible and possible that spinal segmental dysfunction could actually "impinge upon" or "pinch off" the exiting spinal nerve. We know, without doubt now, that there is no support in the literature for segmental dysfunction's (subluxation, if you must) causing ANY impedance of EFFERENT (or FROM brain TO tissues, muscles, organs) nerve supply. There is ABUNDANT conclusive, indisputable research however, that there is AFFERENT (TO the brain FROM the tissues) compromise resulting from segmental spinal dysfunction. In fact there are ALWAYS central nervous system consequences!! As we know, the better term for the antiquated "subluxation" is DYSAFFERENTATION.
As far as Ken Baker's comment -- we could go on and on. I'd suffice to say that ALL 32 NFL teams have doctors of chiropractic on staff. 90% of the world's elite, professional and Olympic athletes use chiropractic regularly. I've practiced chiropractic Applied Kinesiology for 35 yrs. You do not know what you are talking about.

You can go hire a lawyer in Canada & they will steal all your money. In the US there are actually some lawyers who care about your case & give you discounts on their bill.
      That's unheard of in Toronto.
I finally got legal aid in Windsor & the lawyer didn't even know my case when she stood up in front of the judge & I was furious.

I worked in physical therapy for six years, and out of the thousands of patients I encountered during that time, not one of them was prescribed chiropractic sessions by an ortho surgeon, PT, OT, or general practitioner. Not for post op rehab, not for acute injuries, and not for chronic pain or chronic conditions. There was ZERO practical application for chiropractic adjustments according to every single health care provider in every inpatient and outpatient facility I ever worked at. So you can either believe every other medical professional that chiropractic is complete bullshit, or you can believe someone with a financial dependence on that industry that it's TOTALLY legit. 👍🏻

The Trigeminal Cervical N. is also found in the upper cervical spine. It contains cell bodies that send fibres to the Trigeminal nerve, cranial nerve #5. @@BearHumphries466 I agree with that statement, but I kinda take the good with the bad. If the information is not marketed then it gets lost in the endless piles of research never read or implemented. I simply found most of her published work with basic searches on PUBMed and such and use it as a learning tool.

@@mattmaleyd.c.4047 she seems to want to blend vitalism with science, which I don't like but I spose at least she's trying, she is a phd after all! I will need to do some more looking at her actual research though.

FXNL Media I'm a retired D.C., and have corrected MANY loss of cervical curves, pelvic imbalances, high shouldesr, postural short legs, etc. with spinal manipulation and postural exercises... If I didn't know better, I'd assume that this video was produced to debunk Chiropractic, (yet again!). Clearly, this D.C., went the research and intellectual direction, and never LEARNED the proper history, exam, and procedures to manage and correct the conditions he mentions.

Ron Getman lol corrected cervical curves? Don’t make me laugh. If you could do even one, you would have been front page. There is an epidemic affecting all chariopractors called grandiose delusional

They also have massage therapists. Now, they have suction cups, hyperbolic Chambers, whirpools, saunas. All designed to assist MUSCLES and TISSUE. Chiro is the only claiming to "align" bones. If light touching can manipulate spinal alignment, as you claim. How long would a person be able to stay aligned? 20 minutes? Particularly athletes. 15 minutes? It fails the logic test on many levels.
