Although it wasn't exactly what you'd hoped to see, I'm glad that you still saw beauty instead of being disappointed! They monitor the weather conditions as well. The season starts at the end of June. It's been hot, so the surrounding brush has dried out. Photos after rain and in the morning will look more vibrant as well. But yes, photography filters can enhance as well.

hello , i'm glad you enjoyed la Cote d'Azur :) yes the place is les gorges du verdon with the lake of Sainte Croix , you can visit the Gorge by boat that you rent on the lake. you have another lake who is called : the lake of Quinson. You can visit the village of St-Croix du verdon it's really cute. Not that far you also avec the Plateau de Valensole with a lot of lavender fields. then of course you have the big cities like Cannes or Nice who are also beautiful. Marseille is amazing with the Calanques , you can visit then by hiking and jumping from then , it's so lovely. tell me if you need more info :)

Next time you're in the area, you should spend a day in Grasse, unless you already have!! For centuries, it was the centre of perfumery in France, there's a museum you can visit, but there are also the oldest 3 perfume companies still operating, Fragonard, Molinard and Galimard, which offer tours of their factories to show what goes into making perfume. Also, the lavender field reminded me of creamy honey we used to get. My parents and I used to drive down from London to Antibes, as we have family there, and my father always insisted on taking the Route Napoleon instead of the motorway. We'd stop over for the night in a beautiful old monastery converted into a hotel in Crest, close to Valence, and in the morning on the road through the foothills of the Alps (gorgeous road with amazing scenery and gorges, but lots of twists and turns!!), we found a bee keeper who produced various types of honeys, my favourite was always the creamy lavender one. The stay in the monastery in Crest and the pot of honey became a yearly ritual for us, and the lady who managed the hotel always recognised us!! She's probably still there...
it's weird tp see you walk around all these places i know (that's were i live) and be amazed by everything you see when i'm just used to it. it is a great lesson to learn to appreciate the everyday things that surround us and that are still beautiful ! but you guys still look like such silly cosmopolitains - bees are absolutely harmless ! even when they do sting you, the pain is totally bearable !

Dear Alex and Mimi, Thank you for this beautiful video. I felt like I was having a day in Provence again. I loved the lavender fields and am not disappointed in what you saw. On my last day in Provence (some time ago), I visited the Abbaye de Senanque and felt like I was in Paradise. They have a lavender field and it was too early in the season for the lavender to bloom but, it felt like it was to me. It was that special. I bought a jar of lavender honey in the gift shop. I love the bees. I enjoyed seeing your lunch in Provence too--my last day there had a special lunch at the Mas Tourteron. This was a special gift--like your apricot dessert. You and Alex are so lucky to have each other.
I was last week also at the same lake and bridge and in Moustiers st Marie !!! It's a pity that i didn't see you there! And at Lac de Saint Croix we made a tour in a bicycle boat! I hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did! ☀️❤️🇫🇷

Hi Mimi and Alex, we had a similar experience. We ended up on someone's private field and their lavender was really vibrant. However, most fields were much lighter in color. We had some very funny moments with the bees!!!!! Overall it was a lovely experience! You look beautiful Mimi! You are glowing too Alex! 😀 ha ha ha
