One of the things that exacerbates nausea is a mismatch between what your eyes are telling you and what your insides are telling you. That’s why if you feel sea-sick it’s better to be on deck. If you’re below deck, then you’re seeing mainly the interior walls, which aren’t moving relative to you, so your eyes are saying no motion when your insides are saying motion. Whereas when you’re up top, you’re seeing the water, which IS moving relative to you as the ship bounces around, so your eyes and your insides are agreeing. So, less nausea. (Also helpful if you don’t have dramamine: popcorn, ginger ale.)
Hi there! ^.^ So we're not from around here, just staying for a short bit but from what we gathered, there's a better chance to see the whales in an afternoon cruise. Our tour guide was really struggling to find a whale and the whole thing got super messy 😅 So if you get sea sick at all, I'd probably steer clear.
We ended up buying our tickets through the MWR which helped a lot finance wise. Maybe Groupon? We also only went on this one before we decided it wasn't the adventure for us lol! I don't remember what the other company was, but I remember they were the ones who found the whale and gave our company the coordinates. But their ship also looked like it was being rocked around way worse. So it's kind of a coin toss.
@@JessandJakii Thanks for the response! Groupon sounds like a good bet. Think I'm gonna try to look for one of those smaller boats to accomodate for covid. Hope all goes well, hoping to do this as valentines trip :)
That's a super good idea although definitely take dramamine first! :) I heard the smaller the boat the more it rocks. Hopefully you have an amazing time!!!! It sounds like a great way to spend Valentines day 🥰
Haha yeah it was definitely a lesson learned lol! Still totally worth it though! And we haven't been to the Sea World in San Diego yet!! It looks amazingly fun!
It is. We’ve had a pass for 5 years now. We were just there on Feb 29th. It was so busy!! Glad we got our fix in for both parks before they shut down. I have lots of footage over the years from our Sea World visits. I plan to make a video compilation, so stay tuned 🤙🏼
Haha it's totally okay! It's a learning experience for sure! The funniest part is that I got sick editing it and we both got sick watching it again xD it must have really gotten into our heads! So we'll be joining you in the land lovers club 🥰

Omgosh we needed you so badly before we went haha! Hopefully someone can use this information to avoid making the same mistakes we did! 😁
Is September a good time to whale watch? I read that it’s blue whale season there. Is morning better than afternoon?

Jess and Jakii thanks 😊
Is it possible to do this on the cheap? Have any company suggestions?

Yeah, I've done this and would do it again, but not for $55.
Agreed!!!! $55 is way too expensive, especially for having such a small chance of seeing a whale. 🐋
What a bummer you got sick! It looked fun otherwise. I love dolphins🐬 they are my favorite show at Sea World 💙

Sorry you got sick... I lost my “Sea cookies” in San Diego also (while sea fishing)
Awwwwww!!!! 🎵Together! We puked togetherrrrr!!!🎶 🤣
Watching this video. Is it worth it ?
For us, no but we were also busy losing our lunch and also didn't get to see the whales. We've heard lots of amazing and positive stories too :)
Oh y’all! I’m so sorry y’all got so sick. I would have been sick too. I do not like the water.

Jess and Jakii aww that’s a shame y’all got sick again just watching it and editing. So to answer the question...no it’s not worth it 😁
Nice video! 💕🐬🐋🥰
Thank you 🥰 We wish we had been able to capture the whale on tape though! We feel so bad for getting so sick 😅😅😅
Shut the front door. Are you in San Diego?
We are!!! We're stationed here for another year 🥰
Jess and Jakii That’s so cool. We have been out here for 6 years. We love it ☀️🦋🌊
That's so amazing! Once things open back up we'll definitely need to hit you up for suggestions on what to do around here! 😁🥰
Oh no!.. bummer you got sea sick.
Lol! You live and you learn, and then get Luvs. 😂😂😂 But out of all seriousness, it was still so much fun and totally worth going
Were there any children ? 2-3 year olds ?
